The Prism Project

Recommended Posts

I finally went through and picked out the dragons for my B project. I had to shuffle a few of the dragons between A and B a little bit, but I think I'm happy with the result. I just need a single Horse to finish up the colored side of the pairs, and with any luck the egg I'm sitting on right now will produce a girl Horse dragon.

It would be utter madness to list out just what I've decided to do, so any curious parties are more than welcome to check out the Dreamwidth page where I've posted the pairings and offspring this project has produced so far.

While we're on the subject, though, I did manage to produce another third gen at last, which is nice because a lot of my second gens are being woefully stubborn about giving me eggs. Turpentine egg

...on the bright side, apparently some of my dragons were tired of just sitting around in my wyer, my new Red A Block and Light Green A Block gave me both sides of their blocks immediately. /shakes head. Now if they could just show my Harvest, Waterhorse, and Deep Sea dragons how it's done.

congrats to both of you!

I finally got my 3rd gen horse, but still waiting on the sunrise and tsunami sad.gif

Turpentine was difficult for me, too. It took several tries.

I still am not breeding any 4th gen till I have all my 3rds, so I'm stuck at the moment blink.gif I'm afraid I'll lose track, because I've started name some of them and I need them all lined up in order so I don't breed the wrong thing dry.gif

I finally breed a 4th gen *does a happy dance

I haven't had so much luck with my 2nd gens though. I guess I just need some patience.. I guess we all need patience cool.gif

that's very pretty smile.gif

I may be confused, though, but don't you need a crimson for the pattern? Or do I still not understand how this works?

I'm pretty sure that once you get past the third gens, it no longer matters which breed it is. Besides, even if it did... Pink is first in the pattern. So that would be right anyway.

OK. At first I thought I could do my own order, then I thought it was said that it had to follow the pattern.

So I re-bred and re-ordered some things sad.gif

Maybe I didn't need to!

You do a 3rd gen of each color, and then do enough to reach 4th gen. They have to be in the order in the first post:

Pink

Red

Orange

Brown

Yellow

Light green

Dark green

Teal

Cyan

Bright blue

Dilute blue

Dark blue

Purple

Black

White

Gray

When you breed your 2nd gens you can start with any color, but once you reach 3rd gen, you have to follow the pattern.

this is the post - start with any color but at 3rd gen you have to follow the pattern.

which, to me, means the female of each pairing...

I dunno blink.gif

Yes, but that only holds through the 2nd gen.

CBs = all males are albino, colors are female

2nd gens = all males are albino, colors are female

3rd gens = only breeding for colors...no more albinos! So obviously the pattern has to be 1= male, 2 = female, 3 = male, 4 = female down through the list of colors (where 1 = pink, 2 = Red, 3 = Orange, 4 = Brown, etc.)

Make sense?

ETA: Congrats on that 4th gen, Flaviel biggrin.gifbiggrin.gif

yes, I think that's what I';m thinking blink.gif

but following the pattern, looking at the example, every 4th gen color should be the same as the 3rd gen. that's the part I'm confused about.

and that's why I thought it needed to be crimson and not black tea.

I think at that point it becomes your own design preferences ... or my too-often default: whichever egg they deign to give me!!!! *lol* (After all, you have TWO 3rd gen colors to make a 4th gen, so you have to make a choice. Either possible egg will be the color of ONE of the 3rd gens.)

I do plan to hold out for pink for the top male line and white for the last female line until I get to that final egg, and then I don't care which it is...pink or white...either will be fine biggrin.gif

And there I was worried that I didn't understand the order but it seems that there is no specific order after you get to 3rd gen.

Well, anyway, I've planned it like deblogan, with the pink male top line and the white female last line smile.gif

And what I just realized as I went through my pairs is that I have actually chosen Bleeding Moons for the dilute blue block. I fear it would take me an eternity to get an Albino egg from my pairs, with the ratios being like they are at the moment. I am seriously thinking about switching them out with Guardians even though I love BMs dry.gif

I still don't understand it, but basically, it'll be what it is, LOL.

I agree with the BM's - I have not seen anything else come out of breeding, either.

The hubby finally did get the Sunrise 3rd gen, the egg is now on my scroll and hidden. I couldn't get the Tsunami, which I think is the last one.

Yes, I had one, and yes, I either influenced it backwards, forgot to influence it, or it went against influence and is the wrong sex blink.gif

Totally annoyed! xd.png !! xd.png !! xd.png

edit: just once I'd like to post without missing a typo wink.gif

oh, garbage! what's the code, maybe we can catch it?

I did catch a friend's silver once, about a month ago, and someone caught one that was auto-abandoned in the Hope lineage, so there's always a chance!

I was astonished that it's been since July that I've been trying to get the rest of the 3rd gens.

I think I've almost succeeded now:

My dragons are still "coded" but unnamed with their real names.

3rd Gens:

Pink: http://dragcave.net/lineage/kgBPe

Red: http://dragcave.net/lineage/FGqqW

Orange: http://dragcave.net/lineage/uvR3a

Brown: Egg laid 7/28 http://dragcave.net/lineage/gOKdb

Yellow: http://dragcave.net/lineage/sf8r3

Light Green: http://dragcave.net/lineage/k8yXs

Dark Green: http://dragcave.net/lineage/C7sP8

Teal: http://dragcave.net/lineage/r3xq0

Cyan: http://dragcave.net/lineage/bq41r

Bright Blue: http://dragcave.net/lineage/jn5M1

Dilute Blue: http://dragcave.net/lineage/4DGHl

Dark Blue: http://dragcave.net/lineage/soEVF

Purple: http://dragcave.net/lineage/JM0Cz

Black: http://dragcave.net/lineage/tA5xR

Gray: http://dragcave.net/lineage/XgNQt

White: http://dragcave.net/lineage/QGlCr

EDIT: HAH! when threatened with replacement, they produced a nice Tsunami egg (hidden, though, just laid) so, as soon as everything is mature/gendered off I go to breed 4th gens biggrin.gif Yay!

*nods

I even managed to catch an egg I abandoned without even trying biggrin.gif

@daba: It seems that this little egg is missing. Correct me if I am wrong.

looks like it!

now, I learned that auto-abandoned eggs don't show in the AP for an additional day.

however, although I was told that, the one I caught appeared faster than that. so I'll start checking tonight after dinner, and keep track of how many hours it has left.

if the AP says 4 hours, then the egg would say 3 hours, and then gain that day as soon as it appears in the AP. that's how you can tell if you missed it.

let's see if we can't get lucky!

EDIT: it says 3d 11h, which puts it at nearly 1 am - bad news for me, since I'm usually asleep by then, but we'll see. maybe some other stay-up-late or someone in another time zone can help smile.gif

Late, but the code is 76slI

...I swear, my notifs don't let me know there are new posts here half the time, it's very annoying. Anyway, it's at 3d11h, with no views. There's a chance it hasn't been caught yet, but I don't see it in the AP either... which is mostly sitting at 4d eggs.

...oh you guys are good, I didn't even read all the other posts /weeps/ If you do see it, that would be lovely sad.gif

so now you see...tonight you must be awake and vigilant!

I'm going to try, but I'm old and tired and usually only up late if I've slept all day wink.gif which I am not!

Thanks for the head's up about it! I definitely will be up and awake and try to snag my precious back. It will be *so* much easier if I don't have to worry about re-breeding that one... so many of my second gens are giving me trouble as it is /sigh.

The egg will show up around 7am in my timezone. I'll have to get up early anyway so I'll try to squeeze some hunting time in my time schedule biggrin.gif

And I've breed another two 3rd gen.:

Orange-Block

Dark-Blue-Block

What gives me really trouble is to get an Albino egg from AlbinoxSeragamma. They have done nothing except producing Seragamma eggs for around four weeks now dry.gif

Thank you!

I have this exact trouble with my Seragamma's. I've been trying to get them to produce Albino eggs for what seems like months, but nooope. Not a single one. It's very frustrating.

I thought Albinos were supposed to be Blockers, whatever happened to that status.

don't you know - they just love to give you the opposite of what you really want!

we had to abandon many albino eggs, couldn't get the other side - I think the last 3 breedings of my tsunami block all gave me albinos, and of course I needed the tsunami.

I only got the tsunami this time because my re-breed eggs just hatched, and of course, that's just wasted breeding wink.gif

If they did, it certainly wasn't me sad.gif I was at school until just now.

I'm gonna stalk the AP for a bit, in hopes... but thank you to everyone here for being on the lookout for me!

EDIT: the ap is currently showing eggs from 4d 2h, so i'm still hoping it'll turn up...
