whiteny collapsed from hunger as she only ate plants and no meat. is there any scrap of plant around here? she wondered. she tried to go on, only to be exhausted in a few seconds. just one blade of grass would be good enough...

Tyran saw Bloodvein stride off towards a footpath. I wonder why he's going west..., he thought to himself. Then he saw Whiteny collaspe and heard her call out for something not made of meat. He got off the hard ground and stretched his legs and bit before starting and run along the cracks in the ground. He didn't find any vegetation so he began to lope around in wide circles that slowly got wider and wider until he found a building somewhat away from the main group. Looking up, he saw something called a "window" and it had a flowerbox on the sill. He took a minute to claw up to the windowsill and noticed the plants weren't flowers but herbs like thyme and mint. He looked out towards the place where the others were and was pleased that he couldn't see them. He grabbed some of the plants and pulled them up before sliding slowly to the ground, leaving long scratches on the wall. Tyran ran off as soon as he was close enough to jump and headed back to the group.

Soon, he returned unnoticed and offered his findings of some plants pulled up by the roots to Whiteny. "Here, these should help," he muttered shyly as he pushed the plants close to her.

whiteny looked up to see tyratha and thanked her. she chomped down on the plants and savored each root and leaf. when she finished she felt her strength coming back. "oh thanks so much" she said. "is there anything i can repay you with"

Gradlic crept behind the pack, watching out for any danger. His gut had an uneasy feeling, and he was unsure why. He looked at Tyran and Whitney talking, then sighed. He would rather be back in the forest, happily tormenting squirrels or birds, rather than walking the streets of humans.

((OHHH YEA!!!!! Level 10!!!! Woooot!!! Finally hit 2,000 posts!!!! HAHAAAA!!!! Woooot! 8 months! Only 8 months! Yeah!))

Bloodvein looked behind and realised no one had followed, he frowned and used telepathic communication to ask why no one was coming to the forest with him. Then he sat down on the street corner waiting for somone or a telepathical message to come.

Taldaer was playing with it's tail when the message from Bloodvein came. Well, we need to gather together for one thing, we need to wait until we've passed the shock. Even if the men do come back, if we wait then at least we'll have the energy to attack them... Taldaer was not one for rushing into things and would quite happily spend some time regaining it's energy. If we wait, resting then we can leave at first light and get as far as we can then. Otherwise we'll just be tierd.

((maybe because..... lets see.... it isnt related to the topic.... AND WE DONT CARE! no offense))

"I have to agree with taldaer" whiteny said. but even though she wanted to move quickly. she would need plants and there's hardly any in these urban places. they will need to conserve strength and move quickly. she followed bloodvein prepared to go west, but a feeling was nagging at her, a feeling she ignored.

((Its... Two.... Thousand.... Posts.... IT MATTERS!))

Bloodvein sighed and walked back to the others. He reached the area and sat down. Suddenly a large black van screeched off the road and nearly hit them. Two scientists jumped out and opened the back revealing cages. Bloodvein yelped and ran under the van clinging to the bottom of it.

Alshain yawned and strutted out towards the middle of the street. He sat on the white line, his tail wrapped around his forepaws. The streets were a lot quieter now, and he could at last hear himself think. After a few minutes he came back.

'Okay everyone, the humans are on our tails, so we can't stay in one place for long. If someone can work out where the forest is, we can make our way towards it. We travel at night, when we are less easily seen. Does anyone have any issues with this?'

What issues the other hatchlings had were never given. A lage van screeched to a stop within inches of Alshain. He crouched by the front wheel as two humans emerged. He faced nervously over to the other hatchlings, glad to note that they were partially hidden in the shadows. A movement caught his eye and he started, only to realise it was just Bloodvein. He quickly hid under the vehicle as well.

Taldaer's eyes narrowed. With it's extra strenght gone, Taldaer was simply a weak neglected hatchling. But it still had size to it's advantage. It also had long spines along it's tail. Are we simply going to hide whenever these men try to get us? Are we not going to fight? All of us have spines. All of us are fairly big. Why can't we fight? It roared, eyes flashing in the semi-darkness. Taldaer leapt at the human, it's claws scratching every part of the human they could reach, flinging it's tail into the man with all of it's might.

Bloodvein smiled,

"Watch and learn!"

He crawled along the bottom of the car up to the remaining open door. He climbed inside and crawled on the controls. He was only a hatchling, but he could still see what he was doing. He suddenly fell off the seat onto the acceleration pedal and the car lurched forward onto the two humans and Taldaer. Bloodvein jumped back up on the seat to find the car heading straight for a building. He dived out at the last moment as the van flew through the wall into the building.

"Oops..."

Taldaer leapt out of the way, it's eyes watching carefully as the van rumbled forward. The men wern't so lucky, they were left under the car, the wheels not causing too much damage, but enough to stop them from moving too soon. Taldaer shivered slightly, realising the cold of the night, drawing it's tattered wings towards it's body, trying to stay warm. It's sides quivered as it watched the van near the wall, Bloodvein was still in it.

Bloodvein ran over to the others and stood on a scientist.

"I blew something up, lets run!"

He then sprinted across the street and dived into an ally way with fire exits. He climed up the steps to the top and sat on the roof. Gazing out over the sunset, the orange light flickered on his body.

((Seb ur so lucky. I passed my friend who has had a forum accnt longer than me and I wanna get to 2000 posts so i can shove it in his faic (but I hav moar dragons >:D))

Tyran watched everything as it unfolded before his eyes. He wasn't sure what had just happened but a van came, people got out, and then Bloodvein ran them over. And now everybody was fleeing from the scene. He followed along, claws scrabbling on the hard ground. He ran with the others and eventually found himself near Bloodvein, who was watching something. Not very interested, Tyran turned to tell Ashlain he was sure that the forest was to the east but Ashlain was nowhere to be found. Tyran sighed. He'll have to wait.

Alshain had clutched onto something underneath the van as Bloodevein slammed it through the wall. He was knocked down, slightly dazed, and felt a wave of heat and a low rumble. He quickly scurried out from underneath, making sure to give a human a neat scratch on the arm. 'Come on everyone!' he yelled. 'Follow me!' He chased after Bloodvein, a large object crashing down behind him only inches from his tail. He dodged to the side, his tiny claws skittering uselessly on the ground. He hit a wall - the second impact in less than two minutes. Seeing stars, he lay there for a moment, before gathering his thoughts. Hatchlings were running past him, in the direction Bloodvein and Tyran had headed. He felt something grab him by the neck and heave him up. It was a small Neo, risking his life to help Alshain. Alshain looked around, seeing the humans were now up, and scurried up the stairs to join the rest.

Taldaer ran with the other hatchlings, it's tail streaking behind it. As they ran, Taldaer began to fall behind, the attacking had left it robbed of it's energy. Taldaer began to stop, the other hatchlings too far aheard for it to catch up. Between pants, Taldaer called. Wait! Hoping they would be able to hear it's quiet voice.

Alshain paused on the stairs, panting heavily and checking to see all the hatchlings were together. At that moment he heard a small faint cry for help. He quickly scanned the ground, spotting a single hatchling, Taldaer.

Alshain could feel the amount of running begin to take its toll on his weak body, but nevertheless he leapt down the stairs, stumbling and rolling to a halt. He stood up, shaking his head and skittered over to Taldaer. 'Come on!' he hissed frantically, nudging Taldaer. As he did so he realized that he didn't know what gender Taldaer was. No big deal...except this hatchling should have gendered by now.

As the other hatchlings scrambled up the stairs and up to where he an Bloodvein were sitting, he idly flicked his tailtip. A breeze wafted along, bringing with it the harsh smells of human cities. In the distance he heard a dog bark and he saw lights moving in straight lines on a gray trail. He assumed those were cars. His red milky eyes blinked slowly, as if tired or puzzled, as he waited for the others to scramble up to safety, his little mind trying to work out where they should go next.

Taldaer's legs shook as it looked towards the dragon running towards him. He began nuding it towards the stairs and Taldaer tried to take a few steps, but tiredness took over and it flopped to the ground. Taldaer shook it's head, it's red eyes looking up at the dragon. I can't go on... I'm too.... tired. It's eyes widened as sudden realisation dawned over it.

Tyran stood up, turned in a circle, and sat down again. He was impatient for a few of the others to catch up but his instincts all told him not to help and run for himself. The least he could do was stick to his spot. He figeted and his tailtip twitched with nervousness. Trying to hide his anxiety, he scratched at the ground and pried off pebbles, all the while thinking hard. First off, he knew they had to leave the city. But nobody seemed to agree on which way to go to accomplish this. Second off, they needed a safe place to be where there was enough food for them all. He for one, hadn't eaten much these days.

Tyran glanced down his spindly green legs and skinny tail with the tuft of green fur at the end as it twitched back and forth. He looked backwards in response to a flapping noise and saw a pigeon land. It seemed perfectly healthy and he immediately snuck around the others. He got as close as he could and then leapt. Luckily the pigeon wasn't as close to the edge as he'd thought and was able to jump on it before it escaped. He bit it and then dragged it away from the edge to eat. He nibbled at it and soon began to yank out great hunks as his hunger got the better of him. He was no longer a terrae and therefore no longer relied on plants and no longer had sunlight absorbing scales. He felt resentful about that but he didn't really mind. He was smaller now and needed less food. Another hatchling sidled up, hunger plain in it's eyes. Tyran decided to share a piece of the pigeon since there was still plenty left for another hatchling and he was almost full.

Tyran waited as the sun glowed in the sky. He wished the others would hurry. Some hatchlings were still near the bottom of the stairs where they were panting like dogs and trying to catch their breath. He wanted to scream at them from frustration but he knew better. Instead, he contented himself with waiting and playing with whatever he found nearby.
