The Strength Lies Within

((Okay I'll go first biggrin.gif))

The next morning a chilly breeze was what had woken Tyran. Now, he was curled in his makeshift nest watching the sky and waiting for the others. As the sky turned dark blue and then started to lighten, he grew impatient. Dawn would be the best time to travel as well as late at night but last night they had needed rest. He yawned and then scrambled up to give himself a shake. Blinking, he found the shapes of some of the hatchlings who he thought might not mind waking up so early and went to shake them. He woke up Alshain and waited for him to fully wake up before going to others and waking them. He started to wake them faster, realizing that early dawn was starting to slip away to dawn.

Whitney opened one eye warily then yawned. Se got up and stretched her body and wings, her snow white scales clean and shining. Shaking her self she jumped down to the bottom of the tree, awaiting the other dragons to wake up. Her sleepy blue eyes slowly brightened up.

When most of them were awake, the sun was beginning to show over the tops of buildings and he could hear horns honking and blaring in the distance. He quickly clambered up the tree to be sure of his position and then looked for a place they should head for next. A couple more courtyards dotted the city and slowly, the buildings seemed to get more spread out. He wasn't sure what that meant but there was a lot more trees that way. He bit his lip with his flimsy teeth, wincing as it began to ache. He suspected that they should head across the rooftops until they got to the next tree which had a strong looking branch jutting onto the roof of a building.

Silding down, he flicked his tail towards the way they were going to go and headed off.

Alshain groggily opened his eyes, blinking slowly as he looked around. 'What is it...' he muttered, half to himself and half to no-one in particular. He yawned and stretched, quickly grabbing the branch as he realized he was about to fall off. Instantly awake, he descended down from the tree and onto the roof. He looked around and saw Tyran heading off in the direction of the trees. The sun was rapidly rising, so he looked sideways back at the other hatchlings and gave his head a quick toss, indicating for them to move. He then started trotting after Tyran, coming up alongside him.

Good morning Alshain, Tyran whispered out of the corner of his mouth. I hope you slept well last night.

He went around a chunk of debris on the roof until he saw the wooden board that he used to come to this tree in the first place. Either it was the morning dew or it had rained last night, the board looked sodden and creaked under his feet as he clambered across it and back onto the taller roof. Then he looked around and saw another roof nearby that was slightly lower and headed for that one.

whiteny watched tyran and then alaishan move towards the trees. whiteny got up and glided from roof to roof, following the two. she eventually caught up with them, and is beside them as she glided to the next roof. she stopped and waited a few times for the neglecteds, then moved on.

As the sun rose into the sky, Tyran heard more and more noises coming from the city below. Before long, he was swamped in discomfort, from the glaring of the sun to the want to be able to fly like Whiteny. He mused over the thought as he sidestepped a pile of gravel, not wanting the annoying little grains to be making him itchy. Then he almost tripped over a dark rock on the other side that he hadn't seen. Scales prickling, he regained his balance and decided to focus more on the path ahead.

Alshain started to run along the tiles, hoping his pawsteps wouldn't make too much noise. He slowed down as he approached the gutter, peering down into what appeared to be a dark alleyway. He suddenly jumped back as a pair of green eyes appeared, looking directly at him. Shaking, he stepped back, then edged forward and stole another look down. The eyes had come a lot closer and it was now evident that it was a cat stalking him. 'Shoot...' Alshain muttered to himself. He turned around. 'Guys, I think it would be an idea to miss this jump and find a way around it.'

"why?" whiteny asked as she glided back to the other hatchlings. "i dont really see any problem about it" she said, looking down. as she did she noticed the green cat eyes looking up at them. "is it just the cat or is there more to it."

Alshain snorted in frustration. 'It's a cat. What more do you expect? They know a good target when they see - Wha!' Alshain found himself suddenly being dragged back, claws digging into his tail. He pawed frantically at the gutter, feeling the hot breath of the cat on his back, and the occasional wet lick. He squealed and kicked, trying to shake off the paws. This cat was a lot healthier and stronger than he was, however, and he was just about no match for it. A claw caught his shoulder and he squealed again, letting go of the gutter. The cat, not prepared for it, overbalanced backwards and fell off the stack of boxes it had been perched on. Alshain landed heavily on his back as the cat landed lightly on its paws. It edged forward, occasionally slapping at the small dragon. Alshain grabbed it paw as it attempted another hit and the cat screeched, jumping back and trying to shake Alshain from it. Alshain bit the cat on the wrist and with a final yowl, the animal dragged Alshain from its paw and fled out of the alleyway.

Alshain sat on the damp stone, gently cleaning the scratches on his tail. The scrath on his shoulder was sore and bleeding, but at least he had escaped with his life. He looked up at the gutter, seeing a few scared hatchlings peering down. 'I'm okay.' he called up.

"need some help with that?" whiteny called down. she leapt onto the boxes to get down and laid her tail onto alaishan's body. her body glowed white with pure energy as she used her healing powers on alaishan. during the healing she felt more energy come to her and relaxed.

Alshain stared at Whiteny as she started glowing, captivated. He almost didn't notice the scratches in his tail closing up; they did so in such a way it was difficult to tell if they were even doing anything, yet at the same time they were. At the same time, Alshain felt the healing powers wave across his body and for a split second thought he might return to normal. No such luck. But he did notice something - he felt noticeably stronger than before. Whitney, despite being such a small dragon, was already shaping up to be a powerful healer.

whiteny's glow softened as she lifted her tail off of alaishan. she looked at him, top to bottom with her deep blue gaze. "you look as good as new now" she said. she then looked up at the other dragons and said "do not worry, alaishan is fine now." whiteny leaped onto the first box and waited patiently for the neglected.

((Whups sorry almost forgot about this xP))

Tyran watched as Alaishan fell off the edge of the gutter with the cat yowling at him. When he scrambled forward, he saw Whiteny glowing and was momentarily confused until he remembered she was a white dragon and had healing powers. Now, he was on the gutter with the other hatchlings and trying to keep some from leaning too far out. "Should we come down or are you two going to come back up?" he called down in a creaky voice. He gave a little cough to clear his throat when he heard his voice. Slightly embarrassed, he shifted his paws and looked down at the two hatchlings below.

"we'll come back up" whiteny called over her shoulder. she looked back down at alaishan. she then looked from side to side, looking around her in the dark alley. "it could become dangerous if you guys all come down here" whiteny then reminded the dragons above
