Think I will keep that silver at the top of my scoll to remind me to not forget to check even the prettiest of lineages for inbreeding. Yes, that's an oversight of mine regarding Tinsels (thanks also for posting, mandrakekeeper)- I'll add them, along with the new Shimmerscale Prize dragon, if others agree! I think their metallic colorations are gorgeous with the Christmas dragons / alternative breeds / Shadow Walkers (and again, fit nicely with the holiday theme). Speaking of, I'm on a list for a 2nd gen Shimmer x Shadow Walker, and (if others agree we should include Shimmerscales) will be breeding offspring to gift with this lineage project. Posted March 3, 2013 I think adding Shimmerscale sounds like a wonderful idea. Only thing I am more a sucker for than ribbon dancers are eastern dragons. Proof! In my mind the gold, silver metalics and tinsel are all metals. The Shimmerscale are in a class by themselves that only the silvers come close. (I really want to box TJ's ears for making the 2nd ever eastern dragon on the site the nearly unobtainable prize dragon. I would so dearly love a 2nd gen gold shimmer x ribbon dancer to go with her. Heck I would have been happy with a dull cave colored version of that if it wasn't lotto instant millionaire for the lucky few who got elevated to dragon cave end game. ...I better shut up now and go find caffeine.) I saw a few links embedded within text, rather than with the new forms, for new member dragons. I'll try to get to those too, but if you'd prefer to post your pretties with an official form, that would be . And I've added Shimmers to the breeds list (and Tinsels), along with New / Old Pinks. I really like your interpretation of the Shimmers / Tinsels, Dracaena - and I agree, Eastern dragons are gorgeous, but wish they were also more widely available! Posted March 10, 2013 (edited) Updates! Lineage Idea So...what I've been working on is a giant even-gen idea. I'm going to use the different breeds of dragons to tell the story of Scrooge's journeys. I'll have a total of 8 'separate' lineages, 5th generations apiece. Once all the 5th EGs are done, I'll breed them together until one giant 8th EG offspring is achieved. Below are the first 3 of the proposed 8 even gens (click on the linked titles to see the lineage images): Introduction (click for image) only Shadow Walkers and Christmas dragons Stave 1: Marley's Ghost (click for image) combination of multiple breeds, to represent Scrooge's greed and dark heart, concluding with the spooky evening setting and eventually Marley's apparition. Hellfire Wyverns represent Marley's warnings so hauntingly pleaded to Scrooge. Stave 2: The First of Three Spirits (click for image) starting off with the quiet but unsettling night setting, the first of three spirits appears - noted by its frock of white hair. The Ghost of Christmas Past brings Scrooge to his childhood Christmas experiences. The stave finishes with a visit to one of Scrooge's final conversations with his love, who expresses concern at his growing greed. The Shadow Walker x Bright Pink checker represents the loss of his love, the ghost of a memory. I'm currently working on the remaining staves. Some of them will be given two 5th EGs (e.g., Final Stave), given their importance. I'll post those as I finish, then get started on breeding. I may have some requests from listers to help out with the more complicated parts (especially the first Shadow Walker x Christmas only!). Thanks for reading, and I hope all's well!
