The Power Inside

"Will do" said Ceil to Imari, trying not to spit blood all over the place. He looked at a nearby window, grimy with dust, and saw just enough of his reflection to know he must have a face like minced beef. He sighed and put a shaking arm over his chest. He just had to stay alive long enough to get the kids out and away safely.

Hima darted past everyone and on ahead. He smacked into the door leading to the roof and knocked it off his hinges. He raced to the edge of the building and looked across to where Seth was battling the colony of Batsids. The rooftop around the giant black Fiend was littered with bodies, but the great Fiend was tiring. He wouldn't be able to keep this up much longer.

Bastian stood on the roof only to hear the screeching sounds of the batsids from below. He looked over the side noticing Seth struggling to fight them off.

“Imari we need to get out of here. We can’t fight them all and Ceil wont last long either.” He spoke as he noticed her appear beside him.

“Clear the skies while I get everyone on Drahaul.” she spoke before turning around and whispering her magical word. Drahaul appeared half curled around the door that led the way down below. Imari quickly gave him instructions on what to do before disappearing down the stairs. Followed by her was the tip of the dragon fiends tail. It was flat which would make it easy for the others to get on almost working as a strecher.

“Ceil can you get on by yourself?”she asked kneeling beside him showing him Drahual’s tail.

Bastian whispered his own magical word allowing the red dragon fiend to appear. He dived towards where Seth was being attacked wanting to distract some of the Batsids. With a roar some of the monsters turned to the attacking fiend fiend. A few flew off thinking it was another treat for them. When they were nearly upon him Areo opened his jaws and unleashed his deadly fire, skewering the monsters in mid air.

"The day I can't climb up onto a Fiend is the day you can put me to bed with a shovel" growled Ceil weakly. He limped over to Drahaul and hauled himself up, only slightly surprised to find Hima already up there, waiting for him. He stared into the icy face for a moment before turning to look back down at Arthur.

"Lose the mutt already."

Arthur gave a little shrug and de-summoned Hima before walking forward and climbing up onto Drahaul. He pulled himself up behind Ceil, taking care to avoid the spines on the Fiend's back.

Imari could only nod and stood up walking to the unconscious Diana. Bastian did the right thing but he will most likely not hear the end of it when she wakes up.

“Khaine can you slowly drag yourself up? I just need to put her one then I’ll come help you.” she spoke as she hooked her arms under Diana and started drag her up Drahual’s tail, trying to make sure that his spikes won’t cut her.

Meanwhile Bastian watched as Areo attacked the batsids from a distance. He occasionally gave out commands mentally when one tried to come closer to the building they were on. Drahual dare didn’t use his lightning attacks now due to it would attract more attention towards the group.

Khaine struggled to drag himself across the floor, even moving whilst being supported by someone else caused the wound to sting, having to drag himself across the concrete surface of the roof only helped to aggravate the wound even more.

A dark shadow loomed above him as one of the Batsides noticed his isolated presence. Breaking away from the swarm it circled above the injured boy, before beginning to plummet towards him.

Khaine could only freeze as the batsid got closer. Closing his eyes, he called upon Crixius, more out of instinct then a planned action. Crixius stood above Khaine, his legs on either side of his summoners body.

He gripped each of the Batsid's wings with his hands, his fingers penetrating the membrane of the creature's wings as he gripped the bone. The Batsid's face inches away from Crixius as it attempted to bite.

With a roar, Crixius ripped apart the right wing of the batsid, tossing it over the edge of the roof, before smashing the batsid into the ground, effectively killing it on the 3rd swing.

Imari had secured Diana between one of Drahaul’s spikes when he growled. Even standing on her fiend she could feel a slight shift from below. It was then when the shadow of Khaine’s fiend fell upon her.

“What the….” She tailed of watching with eyes wide. How could he have summoned his own fiend? she thought to herself. There were now two large fiends on top of a really old building and one was using it to kill monsters. This was bad she thought to herself again.

Crackling sounds started to eco from below and Drahaul was getting uneasy. He could feel some of the building supports breaking under the pressure.

“Drahual get him.” Imari ordered. With one swift movement Drahaul’s claw grabbed hold of Khaine and the dragon fiend took to the sky leaving Crixius alone on the building.

As Drahaul took to the sky Ceil turned to look at Seth. You couldn't even see the giant Fiend under the swarm of Batsids. He felt somethign dislodge in his mouth and spat it out into his hand. It was a tooth.

"Dammit."

((Spirit? Can you have Drahaul fly to the beach please? It will be quite bare there so they will be able to see anyone coming, but the forrest can be close by for the next part of the plan o3o))

Crixius was took preoccupied with his relentless assault on the lifeless body of the Batsid, his rock like fist's continuing to pound the dead creatures body into the roof of the building.

Cracks were beginning to form beneath the creature and Crixius as the structural integrity of the building continued to weaken under the pressure, however before anymore damage could be done, Crixius vanished. The distance between him and Khaine far enough that he would be de-summoned automatically.

“Keep an eye on her.” Imari spoke to Arthur as she left Diana and crawled up Drahual’s back towards his head. She looked back and noticed that Bastian didn’t see them leave. Placing two of her fingers on her lips she gave a high pitched whistle.

The sound carried through the air and Bastian looked at where it came from. He knew what it meant and quickly called Areo mentally. Jumping of the building and landing on his fiend both of them headed towards the others. Killing off stray batsids along the way. Bastian turned around watching as the distance between them and their temporary heaven got bigger. By now the other two fiends should have disappeared. Areo didn’t follow to close to Drahual if something were to attack him then the others would be safe at least.

Drahual wasn’t sure to where he should go and neither was Imari. They couldn’t fly to long due to Ceil’s condition he needed attention first before they took a long trip. Reaching the end of the island Imari gave instructions that the dragon fiend should land on the beach. It was the only spot that seemed save. Slowly the dragon made his decent towards the beach, scouting first if it was safe before he landed.

Diana hated flying.

This was partly why she awoke with a rather loud scream. The other reason was because of the rather large, gaping, wound in her neck. Whimpering softly, she was glad to find herself stuck into the back of the flying Fiend. "Ow... Owww..."

The girl called Diana came to just as Drahaul landed on the sand of the beach. Arthur replied to her sudden screaming by shoving her off the large blue Fiend and onto the sand. In his the wound on her neck wasn't all that large and she was making much ado about nothing. They had a healer after all.

The person suffering the most was Ceil. Seth had automatically returned to his crystal after they passed the limit of distance but the Batsid's savage assault on him had taken its toil on Ceil. The man was slumped forward and huge trails of blood were trickling down Drahaul's scales. He was barely conscious and slipping from his seat. Arthur leaned forward and gently took hold if him to prevent him falling off Drahaul.

"I need help getting him down" he told the others.

"Ahhh!" Diana yelled as she suddenly slipped off. She had been shoved! Hands clutching at her neck, she sat up and glared at the boy who had done it. They were both bad lots - Bastian and him. She spat out a mouthful of sand, blood leaking between her fingers rapidly. It was lucky the Batsid had missed her jugular. But what she saw up there made her blue eyes widen. Oh, censorkip.gif. Ceil. Her eyes darted up and down, before making a quick calculation. Flopping back, she muttered out, "Vann." A rather morose looking unicorn appeared, body stiff and neck arched as if to try to make the painful wound, well, less so. "Just... Be like a step to help Ceil down. So they don't drop him down Drahaul's side," she wheezed, lying on the sand spread-eagled rather dramatically.

Imari watched as Arthur pushed Diana of Drahual and had to struggle keeping her smile hidden. Clearly somewhere along the way he must have felt the same as she did. Ignoring what happened Imari made her way down to help them with Ceil. Mentally she gave Drahual the order to drop Khaine near where they were so that Angelina could tend to them.

Bastian was still in the sky with Areo making sure no danger would follow them.

((Not really. I keep meaning to post but stuff keeps getting in the way.))

Even with the water Fiend making a step it was still quite a drop down from Drahaul's back. Ceil was limply hanging in Arthur's arms and the young Investigator wasn't sure he could help him safely down to even Rain's back.

He looked at Imari watching him.

"Can you help support him as I lift him down?"

“Of course.” Imari spoke as she came closer. Drahaul had also lay down on the sandy beach causing the distance for them to get the teacher down a little closer. It didn’t do much due to the dragon fiends bulk size but every little bit will help. Thanking him mentally Imari turned to help support Ceil.

With Imari's help Arthur was able to lower Ceil down to Rain's back and then further down to the ground. Arthur laid his former teacher down as gently as possible to avoid causign any further injury, although it was hard to say what more could be done to the man. The Batsids seemed to have slashed open nearly every square inch of him.

Standing up Arthur tapped his chest and whispered.

"Neco."

Hima instantly appeared in a swirl of icy dust and took up a protective position nearby. Now they just had to wait for Angelina to see what she could do.

Diana de-summoned Rain when Ceil was off her. Phew. She pulled herself up, blinking a bit to make her vision clearer - it was starting to blur from bloodloss. Looking toward Ceil, her heart almost stopped. He resembled a dripping cloth, the way he was bleeding. Oh, god... "Ceil," she whispered to herself. He had to survive. This was her fault, and there wasn't any denying it - if she hadn't stayed so long, maybe he wouldn't be in so bad a state.

Khaine stayed at the spot where drahaul had placed him. He had no intention to move and thus cause further pain to pulsate from his injured leg. His only concern now was to prevent blood loss, as he held his bloodied shirt over the wound.

Arthur waited by Ceil's side as Angelina slipped down from Drahaul's back and landed on the beach. The light summoner took one look around her at the injured and then called on Aiedail for aid. The winged wolf ran from person to person and healed them with her magics while Angelina opened her bag and approached Ceil. She keeled by his side and began to tend to his wounds.

((After this post everyone save Ceil should be healthy again.))

Diana looked up at the wolf gently touching her, eyes slightly glazed over. When healed, she rose up, looking at Ceil sadly. This was her fault; him being so badly injured. And they had left Noland. All alone, in that doomed building. Eyes beginning to brim with tears, she rose to her feet. Without a word, she turned away, headig toward the forest. She didn't mind the heat, or her feet sinking with evey step. She needed to get away from all of this. Eventually she reached the green, and stepped into the cover of trees. She forced her legs to go faster, running away, away from what she'd caused, tripping sometimes, pulling herself up and going again.

((Nobody go after Diana please.))

With most of the blood cleaned away Ceil looked a lot better. The wounds the Batsids had inflicted weren't as deep as Arthur has feared. It was probably the blood loss that had caused him to lose consciousness, although thankfully that was coming to a halt now that Angelina had been able to spread a salve on the injuries.

When Angelina had done Arthur helped move him over to the shade of a large rock. Hima padded over and leapt up onto the rock to keep watch.

Imari leaned again Drahual as Angelina tend to those who were injured. She was quite worried about Ceil thou even if she didn’t showed much affection at the moment she did really care. Out of the corner of her eye she notice Diana running off, Imari could only sigh but let the girl go.

It wasn’t long that Bastian and Areo landed on the beach as well. Thou the dragons were quite large in the now open area both summoners decided to keep them amongst them, in case they need a quick getaway. Both dragon fiends circled the group using themselves as a barrier of some sort while the kept an eye out on their surroundings.

“How is he?” Bastian asked standing next to Arthur.

Diana wasn't alone in the woods. One of the braver military Summoners had sneaked onto the island, although nothing and no one would compel him to enter the city at the island's heart. He had just been wondering if he should give up and go back when he spotted a large Fiend carrying several people appear and land on the beach.

He knew they were the students he had been sent after, but he was alone and there were many of them. Even if they were only trainees, he wouldn't stand a chance on his own. He had stayed where he was, hidden amongst the trees, and tried to formulate some kind of plan. Could he sneak past them and alert the others?

Suddenly the Gods dropped a gift right into his lap. One of the girls broke away from the group and ran straight towards the forrest. She was crying and running, why, he neither knew nor cared.

The girl raced straight past the tree he was hiding behind and moved deeper into the forrest. The military Summoner glanced back at the students and saw that no one was giving chase. This was his chance.

He slunk after the girl, catching up quickly due to how often she tripped over the rocks and roots that littered the forrest floor. When he was only a few feet behind her he pulled his club from his belt and hit her hard across the back of the head. She crumpled instantly and hit the ground.

The military took this chance to bind her hands together behind her back. Even if she awoke she would not be able to summon her Fiend for aid. Knowing he would have to move quickly he picked the girl up and threw her over his shoulder, heading back towards the beech.

((I hope this is okay Chico.))

~~~
"He's going to be okay" said Arthur staring down at his former teacher. "He just needs some rest and maybe some food. He lost a lot of blood."
He looked at Ceil's face and hand. Angelina had not been able to save the eye and he had lost part of the fingers on his right hand. Some of the girls back when Arthur was at school used to say the gruff teacher was quite good looking. They wouldn't be able to say that now.
Suddenly Hima was growling and staring at the forrest. Arthur turned and at first saw nothing, but a military man appeared about a hundred feet away. He had Diana slung over his shoulder and he was making quickly for the shore.
Hima instantly leapt from the rock and began to race towards him, but the military summoner called on his own Fiend. A blur of dark blue light turned into a lumpy and ugly but large whale like creature on the shore and to Arthur's surprise the miltary summoner ran straight into the awaiting Fiend's mouth. By the time Hima had managed to reach them the whale had already dived into the waves and was lost to the ocean, taking the two humans with it.
