Rachel just gave him a sad smile and covered his hand with hers. "It's okay. You couldn't have known that would happen to me," she replied. After a moment her brows knit together in confusion. "Wait.. You left?" She asked, baffled. She'd been asleep since they left and had no idea that they were gone.

"Yeah. Only for a bit. I called but I thinkas soon as you picked up my phone would hang up and we just did this little awkward game of phone tag." He chuckled a bit. "I'm had you're feeling better."

Rachel didn't remember picking up the phone, but maybe she'd been half asleep at the time. Ah well. "Sir," she began tentatively, "I feel as though I'll go crazy stuck in this bed for a whole week. Perhaps.. Might I do some little things? The dishes maybe?" She asked.

He thought for a moment. "Sure... I don't see harm in you cooking either, if that's what you would like...?"

Rachel smiled and nodded eagerly. "Oh yes sir, thank you, I would like that," she replied, resisting the urge to hug him. He was more of a parental figure to her than anything.

"Alright, don't get too worked up." He messed with her hair. "Hey Ella? Could you bring those doughnuts in here?"

Entering the house, Ella brought the doughnuts to the kitchen and set the box on the table. Going to the cupboards, she wasn’t sure if Tybalt would be having a doughnut too, so she pulled down three small plates, and three cups. Setting those on the table as well, she sat down, and sitting there alone, she found that she couldn’t hold back her pain anymore. Burying her face in her hands, she started to sob as she thought of her brother. Despite what Tybalt had said, the uncertainty of if she’d ever see Zeke again hit her like a brick. Indulging in that for just a couple moments, she quickly sat up straight as she dried her eyes. It just wouldn’t do for her master to see her showing emotion. Going to the sink, she splashed some water on her face, and fanned her eyes to try to get rid of any redness. Filling one of the glasses with water, she took a long drink.

Hearing Tybalt call for the doughnuts, she grabbed the box and the other two cups, and brought them to Rachel's room. "Here they are, Sir," she said entering the room. "Shall I fill these with water for you?"

Tybalt read her face easily and motioned for her to sit on the bed with them. "Aw... You brought us silverware and plates..." He outstretched an arm, just in case she needed help on the bed or carrying anything or a hug or something.

"I'll get the water later." He pat the bed with the other hand.

Rachel grinned as he messed up her hair, nodding obediently. She was gradually becoming less shy, which was a big step for her. In a way, being with the right owner was allowing her to act her age. She was only 11 after all. "Hi Ella," she greeted cheerfully.

Ella gave a small nod when Tybalt motioned for her to sit as well, but she was a little uncertain what the outstretched arm meant. Not sure if he wanted the box, she offered it to him as she sat down. Looking to Rachel, she knew she didn’t have permission to speak, but decided to risk it anyway as she said, “Hi Rachel, how’re you feeling?”

"I'll be back in just a moment..." Tybalt got up to fill the cups with water so the girls could be alone for a bit. He was smothering them...

"I feel okay. Still kinda tired, but I think it'll get better. Tybalt said I could cook tonight," Rachel replied with a smile, looking fondly at Ella. She was like an older sister. "Did you have fun?"

As Rachel spoke, Ella found herself mirroring the younger girl’s smile. She wasn’t too sure about her cooking though, but as long as she didn’t over do anything. However, when Rachel asked if she’d had fun, Ella’s smile faded as she looked down to her hands. Not wanting to worry Rachel, she wasn’t quite sure how to answer that question. She opened her mouth to say something, but stopped with a sigh before saying, “Some of it.” She looked back to Rachel with a forced smile.

Rachel's smile slipped away as well, and she scooted closer. "Oh, I'm sorry. What happened?" She asked innocently, looking up at the older girl. Poor Ella never seemed to be happy. Well, maybe she and Tybalt could change that.

Ella didn’t even know where to begin to answer that question. With a slight scoff, she ran her fingers through her hair as she said, “A lot…” She thought for a moment, and then decided that hearing about everything might upset Rachel, so she skipped to the end. “The short of it though is that we found my brother.” She glanced at Rachel with a brief sad smile which fell again as she continued, “He’s ummm…his master is the man who k- Well, Master Tybalt met him at the hospital… I’m scared, Rachel,” she looked up while blinking to try to prevent the tears from falling. The fact that she was admitting that was a testament to how much she trusted the younger girl. “I’m scared for my brother, and I’m scared that I’ll never see him again.” Dropping her head again, she wiped at her eyes. “I don’t know that I can handle losing him again.”

Rachel listened patiently while Ella explained, brown eyes wide as she examined the older girl. At first, it sounded like good news, but clearly it wasn't. Wordlessly she put her arms around Ella and hugged her, head leaning against her shoulder. "You will," she said simply, not sugar coating it. "Master Tybalt will make sure of it. If he didn't want you to see him again, he wouldn't have allowed it in the first place. He'll make sure," she said confidently.

Leaning into the hug, Ella gently rested her head on Rachel’s head as she said, “I want to believe that. I really do. But Zeke’s master is a very bad man. What if he…,” she couldn’t bring herself to put that thought into words. “And Master Tybalt can’t protect him.”

"I will." Tybalt murmured, setting the cups down next to the bed. "It's that simple. I told you I would find your brother, and I wil make sure he stays found and not in a river somewhere."

Rachel's gaze flickered to the side as Tybalt returned. "See? It'll be okay," she soothed, "he won't let anything happen to your brother. I'm glad you found him." It seemed she had missed a lot in her time sleeping.

"Look what I found." He pulled up his phone and faced the screen towards them then thought better of it. "Well... Nevermind. It's your brother in the ring. He was... Very good. Very very good. He can take care of himself just fine it seems."

When Tybalt came back into the room, Ella dropped her head in shame for being caught talking about him, but when he didn’t seem to mind or notice, she looked up toward him with as near to hope as she could remember showing. Truly wanting to believe what they were saying, a ghost of a smile crossed her lips, and when Tybalt mentioned having Zeke on his phone, she gave a small sigh as she said, “Thank you, Sir.” She also brought one hand to give Rachel’s arm a gentle squeeze as a way to thank her as well.

Ella gave Rachel’s arm a gentle pat as she straightened, and said, “Yes Sir.” Picking up the box, she opened it toward Tybalt for him to take the first one, and once he did, she was going to hold it to Rachel for her to choose one.

Rachel just smiled at Ella, straightening up on the bed. When she peeked into the box, her brow furrowed in confusion. "I thought only nobles got to eat these. Or at least.. My old master got them only once in a while. I don't remember what they're called."

Tybalt took a plain one. "They're doughnuts. I thought you could try some. Ella said she hadn't had one before. I guess you haven't either?" He shrugged. "I'm not going to eat that many, help yourselves to whatever you'd like."
