Nomura says that KH3 has not begun development yet.

 

Nomura said once that they haven't begun actual development yet but were already throwing ideas around. But how many times has SE lied to us before? My previous post presents my thoughts on the matter.

 

 

 

What recently announced RPG?

 

There were 2 recently announced action RPGs by SE. One to be led by the DQ IX producer and one to be developed by SE's 1st Production Department a.k.a. the guys who make FF and KH.

 

We know for sure these are 2 different games because they have different engines. If the one to be developed by the 1st PD was KH3 they'd likely have announced it as such.

Some new tidbits about XIII-2 in the last pre-release interview with Dengeki:

 

 

We already shared a few bits from the interview that suggested that the Sazh character will appear not in the main game but as post release download content. Here are some other bits:

 

- Toriyama says that the game's various episodes are at most around 3 hours. They're made like this so that busy people can easily play.

 

- The bonuses for FFXIII owners keep on increasing. Now Toriyama says that if you have FFXIII save data (it doesn't have to be clear data, just save data), you'll get special monster decorations. Additionally, you'll get higher success rates in the game's casino area. The title screen will also have some sort of bonus.

 

- As previously detailed, you face off against the game's download content bosses in a coliseum area. There will also be small story elements here.

 

- There's an area of the world that will provide updates about available download content.

 

- The game has both auto save and save anywhere. Auto Save was apparently included because it's a trend for overseas games. However, it may be a bit hard to figure out where it's saving, so they've included the save anywhere option as well.

 

- You can make Odin into an ally monster. He first appears as a boss for one of the game's episodes.

 

- After clearing the game, you'll return to the opening. If you close the Historia Crux gate there, you'll be able to enjoy a "New Game Plus" type experience. You may want to play the game a second time, as there are some items that you'll only get on the second time through, like certain monster decorations that you get based off your Live Trigger conversation choices.

 

- When you first start the game, Noel and Serah can use Attacker, Blaster and Defender Roles.

Odin as an ally? Awesome sauce. I wonder if it is the Twilight Odin version?

Some people on other sites have said that the Twilight Odin looks more femine (don't ask me how they came to this conclusion) and this made me think.

 

Cauis turns into Chaos Bahamut. He and Light are said to be equal in strength. Does Light turn into a version of Odin? The Twilight Odin?

As I understand there is nothing special for those with clear data. Any save file will give you the same bonuses.

No relevant FF news lately. Since XIII-2 comes out in Japan in 2 days you'd think they'd have said something about our Type-0 version or Versus.

If you don't mind me asking, are you planning on getting FFXIII-2 as soon as it comes out in your area or are you going to wait?

I think I might wait a bit to check out some real fan reviews. Almost 100% sure it'll be a great game but just in case.

 

It also depends on how much money gifts I get on Christmas (being broke sucks ) and on what they do for our Type-0.

 

If they give us a release date for our Type-0 before I buy XIII-2 I'll probably put XII-2 on hold and pre order the best Type-0 edition :3.

That's enough for me to know what to watch out for if I buy it .

 

Some new XIII-2 pics but not much else, unless you want some 7 or so hours of videos of actual gameplay. The game is already out in Japan.

 

Omega boss DLC.

As awesome as that picture is, I kind of miss the old Omega design.

Maybe. But imagine the kind of hilarious reactions I could get from passerbys when I went to walk him >:].

 

It seems the chick in the skimpy costume didn't freeze to death after all. She does however look very, very fake. The costume also makes her neck look way too long.

I don't like the boots. They'd drive me crazy with that silver thing. It'd probably catch on everything.

That's some "friend" you got there lol (just joking, no offense intended). Hope you didn't read too much into them.

 

Would you like a link from me too? No spoilers, I promise :3. It's a comparison of XIII-2's Xbox and PS3 versions' quality.

 

That's good news for me though. I was convinced there wouldn't be that many endings. Hopefully they're considerably different from each other.

 

 

EDIT- I would like to take back what I said in my first sentence of this post. That person really is your friend and was trying to keep from wasting money on a game with a total of 9 crap*** endings.

 

Yes. I couldn't resist and checked them all out. I'm glad I did cause now I can just peacefully pretend XIII-2 never existed instead of spending hours upon hours on a virtual casino trying to get several 777 on a slot machine just so I can get one more s* "ending". I write "ending" because really none of the endings actually finish any part of the story. The very last thing on the "canon ending" is a "To Be Continued", for God's sake! I see a XIII-3 on the horizon and I don't like it.

 

I hope Nomura stays away from Versus' ending.

Crap or not, I prefer to find out endings for myself, even if I have to Youtube the harder to obtain ones.

 

I'm still going to get the game. The story is only part of it after all.

 

To be honest I'm still not overly struck on Serah being the new MC. Lightning became my second favourite FF character more or less as soon as I started playing as her and its a spot she still holds. Hopefully in any future games she get backs in the main action.

I doubt the next MC will be Light or Serah due to the ending. Noel seems possible though.

 

I value a game's story and plot above pretty much anything else except maybe the battle engine. To me the ending of a game is capable of turning a crap game into an awesome and worthwhile experience but it is also capable of doing the contrary, which is what seems to happen in this case. No doubt the rest of the game is great but this type of trolling just doesn't cut it for me. Needless to say this is also not the kind of quality one would usually expect from a FF game.

 

I can't help but feel that this whole game is either a publicity stunt for a XIII-3 or the beginning of a new SE policy in which they make you play the game and get an unsatisfactory ending so you'll buy DLC with a decent ending later.

I'm not going give any final verdict until I play the game.

 

True, the ending can make or break memories of the game, but it doesn't affect much while you are actually playing it.

 

Even if Lightning is a bit indisposed at the end of 13-2, this is FF after all. Anything could happen.
