Posted June 14, 2020 Yup. Longer than my house from front door to back. I guess I won't be doing that puzzle! I do wish we'd have another 2 or 3 thousand piece one donated to the shop. Share this post Link to post
Posted June 15, 2020 i have a 5000 piece puzzle... but shipping it to you would be kinda expensive.... Share this post Link to post
Posted June 15, 2020 Yeah, unfortunately, but thanks for the thought! That's part of why they cost so much here. Home now. I enjoyed my three nights out. Share this post Link to post
Posted June 15, 2020 yeah.... you've mentioned. also, island and all that. i worked with my daughter tonight. i was main cashier and she was back up Share this post Link to post
Posted June 15, 2020 Island does complicate matters! Ooh. Was that fun? I return to my Tues - Sat schedule this week. Share this post Link to post
Posted June 15, 2020 (edited) i don't know about fun... there were customers to ring up and returns to put back... and the one customer who checked out 10 minutes after we closed because we don't make announcements. but she was apologizing and helping me with her checking out and stuff. for some reason, corporate decided a few years ago to just stop the closing announcements because it rushes the customers. (seriously??) Edited June 15, 2020 by trystan clarification Share this post Link to post
Posted June 15, 2020 I always do a fifteen, ten, and five minute warning, sometimes seriously ("Five minute warning."), sometimes not ("All prices go up 400% in five minutes."). Neither work particularly well, though the funny is very slightly more successful. Share this post Link to post
Posted June 15, 2020 we used to do 15, 10, 5, and 'now closed'... all were straight fwd that we're closing and bring their purchases up to the front and what time we'll open in the morning. but i like your "All prices go up 400% in five minutes." Share this post Link to post
Posted June 15, 2020 Laughter does seem to work for some people. Then you have the ones that nod at your announcement or say, "okay" and just continue browsing. Very frustrating, especially since checking out the last person always seems to take forever. Share this post Link to post
