Dark Lumina breeding theories

I caught this egg 7 hours ago. Does anyone know then the normal lumina eggs started dropping?

theres a white lumina in the alpine so the drops arent influenced by the moon

Been hunting couple of hours for a dark lumina and didn't see a single one. Saw plenty of time ones and others as well white lumina. Maybe the disappearance now will give some clue? Or maybe the phase has reversed already and now favors white lumina more? Can anyone report if you catch a dark lumina after the time I made this post?

Well just going by the CBs right now my personal theory is that the RATIOS are somehow fluctuating (maybe connected to the moon) so when they started dropping we saw the usual "OMG ALL NEW EGGS" effect but now it changes, since their fraction of the NEW breeds seem to decline - they used to be more common than the Almerald and now appear to be rarer than Aeons.

 

ATM we see Light and Dark Luminas drop roughly about the same ratio (judging by the posts) if my theory holds correct the pendulum should swing to "a lot more whites" and back to "more dark ones" over a certain period of time.

 

If bred and CB ratios are truly disconnected than I'd guess the bred ones are just a bit behind on that effect (or phase-delayed) since so far I've seen no report on bred Light Luminas since the release.

 

Whatever the case - I highly doubt we will get a 100% surefire way to always get a dark or always get a Light Lumina at a certain time.

I just tried 16 different pairings and ALL gave dark eggs (no no eggs/interests, no light eggs)

Doesn't seem like the drops are time-of-day based, at least; haven't seen any Darks, but did see at least three normal Luminas in the biomes.

I am not certain if it's about them being rare, they don't look like a rare breed to me TBH. It is more the fact they are not dropping AT ALL so something has changed. Whatever triggers the change in cave drops of color has probably already happened and we need to figure out what. No one has reported catching a lumina for quite a while now, I have not even seen one in any biome and I don't see anyone owning any eggs caught in span of last few hours as far as I looked.

The eggs aren't in my possession, so I'm only linking the progeny pages instead of the eggs' lineages.

But I got Dark Luminas from these two pairings: LuminaxElectric and AegisxLumina

 

If it's stated to not just be pure luck, then it's probably a time thing, but right now ratios are probably going to throw off the results until we get enough Darks in the system.

There's three cycles that could impact it. Pure day/night seems unlikely, I think we would've picked up on that by now. Could be a moon cycle thing, but I still don't fully understand Heralds so I can't say. Lastly it could be a season cycle, perhaps with the Darks becoming more common in Autumn/Winter when nights are longer.

I just saw a dark lumina in cave!

 

That means what I posted previously about one phase reducing one type of egg and increasing other type in cave might be true! i,e. right now dark are reduced and light are increased.

Bred about 30 light Luminas, got several darks, several lights and quite a few of the opposite breed.

I'd say it due to the site not having the "right environment" to support the dark lumina... I'd bet that the dark lumina is in response to the moons or at least the day and night cycle, which has only been in effect in a short amount of time.

 

Also, if anyone is interested the dark lumina has the same scaleless colour to the normal luminas. Or at least, the male does.
