Probably because the ratio for silver shimmers is smaller than bronze since more bronze are in existence. Just a guess but I assume the ratios are separate for each color. Because the result of 2 Shimmers of different colors will always be the same color, for that specific pair. If you swap, say, the Silver one for another Silver one, that new pair might actually produce Bronze eggs. Supposedly, the same was true for holiday dragons from the same season, but TJ changed that, I've heard.
