Watching Earl fight Tolliver was, to Swift-Eye, quite entertaining, seeing that Tolliver seemed to move wrong.Earl, on the other hand, moved with the grace and majesty of a wolf. Watching him enchanted Swift-Eye.What am I doing? I am a Beta. My duty is to serve the Alpha.I must be falling for him. Swift-Eye panicked. She had never loved anyone before.

As Earl twisted away, ignoring the pain of the bite, he reared up to his full height and met Tolliver at his next attack, barreling over the foaming dog, bringing him back down and rolling over him, catching a hold of his ear and shaking it hard enough to tear it.

Ty looked around and noticed Swift-Eye looking wistfully at Earl. He shrugged. Earl was obviously winning the fight, so he would most likely be accepted. He had no quarrels with the Beta's choice of lovers. He found himself wanting Earl to win. Earl was a good dog, a dog any pack was worthy of. Ty started to doubt if he would be a better leader than Earl. Earl was wise and strong. He could easily sustain and support a pack. Earl was all of that, but he was not the Alpha of Junkpack. He never would be. Or at least, Ty hoped that was the case. He did hope that Ty could be the Beta of Junkpack, a good dog that could help keep things in control. Ty just hoped Earl's ambition wasn't to great and that he strove for more than Beta.

He did hope that Ty could be the Beta of Junkpack
((haha freudian slip, pack? tongue.gif))

Tolliver roiled underneath him, and he leaped away quickly, only to lunge just as rapidly again at him as the crazed shepherd came up, grabbing a hold of the back of his neck with all of his weight to bear down on Tolliver.

Luli watched excitedly as the wolfhound called Earl and another dog went at it. The fight was quite entertaining, but she knew it would be over soon. Earl had too much advantage and experience. The other dog never had a chance. Her fluffy, white tail wagged slightly as her eyes never strayed from the action. It had been a while since she had seen any fight worth watching.

Roe glanced at her brother, he looked worried and hopeful all at the same time. She nudged him under his muzzle with her nose briefly, just a way to show her support.

Tolliver was pinned again and this time he yelped in submission. The wolfhound had won. "Finish! Tolliver has been defeated and will be demoted! The wolfhound will take his place as gamma in our pack!" She howled to the assembled dogs.

((just in time, I think I've gotta get off the comp :/))

Earl got off of Tolliver and sat back on his haunches, flinching at the spasm of pain that coursed through his hips again. He pulled his lips back and let loose a frightening snarl to keep the shepherd down and faced his new Alpha.

"My life is now yours," he said, performing a small, polite bow.

((I should really sleep too O.O))

Roe smiled to herself at the wolfhounds show of respect, it was a nice touch. "Everyone back to the junkyard to await orders!" she called and the other dogs filtered away, talking avidly about the fight. Roe walked towards the victor.

"Congratulations wolfhound and welcome to the pack. My name is Roe, I'm a beta," she ducked her head in greeting.

Ty dipped his head. "Roe, escort this dog away from our territory. I don't want to see his face again," Ty said calmly. He butted Earl at the shoulder, gently, a dog's way of saying congrats. He then proceeded to walk back to camp. He just hoped this "Earl" could pull his weight, because a wolfhound is a lot of extra weight if they don't.

"Well, I'll go hunting myself then and bring back whatever I can."

Coruki ran towards the scent of prey. She spotted a hare and snuck up, pouncing when she got close enough. Her stomach growled. Coruki picked it up and walked back towards camp. On the way, she spotted some sort of bird. She pounced on it and killed it.

"I'll bring back the rabbit and the bird as peace offerings. I wonder if Ty is still mad at me."

She padded around camp looking for somewhere to put them.

Skyla sighed and walked around the Junkyard, examining everything in it. "I"m starving!" she growned quietly, coming upon the box she had slept in. She looked back and saw Coruki carrying a bird and a rabbit.

"Nice job." Skyla said.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Chloe had been watching as Earl and the other dog faught. Earl won, and took the other dog's place as gamma. She walked over to where everyone was talking and sat down. "Well, congrats." she said to Earl politely.
(Dear lord everyone...)
Victoria watched Ty for a long moment, listening to his words. He sounded sorry, but the outburst was unacceptable. And here, she was thinking he'd changed! But, either way, it wasn't as if she were about to challenge Ty- she was in the Junkpack because it was her home, a place where she could put herself to work to its fullest potential. When the Doberman dismissed the human, Victoria frowned slightly, but figured it to let it go. Since the Chihuahua wasn't with them, chances the man would look elsewhere.
Surprised flickered across Victoria's amber eyes as Earl requested to join. She had been hoping that he would ask, but with Ty's "introduction", she'd thought the chance had fled. She was curious as to what Swift-Eye had spoken to Earl about, especially if it aided in Earl's interest in the Junkpack.
Well, no matter- it appeared Ty was trying to make up for his rudeness, even though there were still glimmers of it here and there. He needs to control his emotions better, she thought dryly, resisting the urge to roll her eyes. As her leader threw his head back to release a summoning howl, the silver Rhodesian sat back to watch the scene that was about to unfold.
She was amused with Roe's choice of opponent. Tolliver was a numskull, that was obvious. In fact, as the Shepard cross came forth, Victoria felt her dislike for him rise like bile in her throat. She would be glad to see the sorry mutt leave, since she had no doubt that Earl would defeat him.
The fight that ensued was no less than she expected. In fact, it looked rather easy- a notion that brought a faint smirk to her muzzle before it vanished into her usual calm expression.
She waited until Roe had finished her congratulations before approaching Earl, the same slow and deliberate step bringing her closer in the same way she'd had first met him with the chicken breast in her maw. "So, Gamma," she said, stopping near his side. "A fight hardly worth your skill. Don't think the rest of us are so easy." There was a smile in her voice, although it was masked beneath the usual coolness. There was also something she wanted to ask him, something she was curious since when she'd first come across him trying to stop a fight between two other males. However, if his past and reasons were anything like her own, she had a feeling it might not have been something he would want to share in the earshot of several others. Or to her at all, but despite her isolated nature, she was damn curious.
Just as she had expected, the fight ended quickly. Several dogs of this so-called "Junkpack" congratulated Earl on his victory, while the rest of them dispersed, most likely to go back to their territory. Seeing as how all the action was now over, Luli decided there was no more reason for her to remain in the park. So she started making her way back to the alley where hopefully her friends would be waiting. She'd had enough of strange dogs today.
Zara nodded. This was basically what she had expected. All of the waiting and planning would bore her though. Zara just wanted to do what she had been bred to do, to rip into the throats of her enemies and get revenge for her pack. "What would you like me to do to aid this plan, Frost?" Zara questioned.
FROST:
"Join them, Beta. You are not a known dog, that's why I chose you. You'll go and you'll be my spy. Right in the middle of everything. That's all I require you to do," she said her eyes clearly showing that she was elsewhere. So like her. Already planning. She sighed, licking her paws like a cat. That was one thing about her. She almost had a feline's grace.
TY:
Ty strode into camp, dipping his head to Coruki as he saw what she had brought.
"From now on, Omegas are not allowed to hunt without permission. The Order has been brought back," he said, referring to the sacred law of Dog. He continued to stride over to his bus, leaping on top of it and lying down. He never seemed to be able to do anything right. He needed to be able to control his emotions. And he would, in due time. That was the thing he needed to focus on now. He was working on taking small steps toward the direction he once was.
KELLEY: Kelley was still laying down, his eyes widening as a pretty Siberian Husky strode into the alley. He lifted himself from the ground, standing slowly up. He smiled and dipped his head, ears flicking in respect.
"My name is Kelley. And may I be honored to have your name?" he asked, his voice polite. Unlike Ty, Kelley was good at not showing his emotions. He showed only respect, when he felt slightly unsettled by her, but at the same time, attracted to her.
((bah let's see if I can catch up with everyone tongue.gif))
"Earl," he said simply to the female doberman. "I'm happy to join," he said, and it was at least half truth. He couldn't deny he was uneasy about all of it, but it was as if a load had been taken from his shoulders. So long as he remained useful, so long as his age never caught up to him, he would have food, protection, and shelter. He needn't run anymore. When Ty nudged his own silent congrats, he dipped his head again and stood.
The retriever from earlier who had remained to watch with the husky that he noticed was no longer there approached with her own congratulations and he smiled in kind.
"You know, I never caught your name. If you remain in this city, though, I expect we'll see each other again. And until that time comes, I hope you stay safe."
As Ghostly Victoria approached he became hardly aware of the others, as if her quiet presence was louder than all of the others. He grunted in acknowledgment of what she said.
"Hardly a test if you asked me. Seems the first use I have been to the pack is to oust an unwanted." A smile crept up on him as a thought struck him. "I must say, I would be more than interested in seeing you in action." He glanced in Ty's direction as he walked away. "I suppose there's nothing left for me here, time to see where I'll be spending my new life at." Before he trotted after his Alpha, he turned back to the silvery female.
"For future reference, I assume you'd rather be called Ghost?"
Roe sniffed, both her brother and Earl seemed to be interested in Ghost. She really didn't want too see a fight between the two because she honestly didn't know who would win. She glanced at the silver she-dog and hoped that she didn't toy with them, though that really didn't seem like something Ghost would do but if she wasn't absolutely clear in her feelings or lack there of there would be drama to say the least. Neither of the males in question seemed like the kind to back down if they thought they had a chance.
"I'll see you guys back at camp then. I'd hurry along if I were you, Ty probably doesn't want to be kept waiting." And if the two of them were late together she dreaded to think how he would react, considering his heated reaction last time he'd found them together.
Chloe smiled after Earl. "Thank you. Same too you." she said quietly and walked back down the street from which she came.
She walked past an alleyway where she saw Luli and three others dogs. She turned and walked towards them. "Hey, nice to see you again." she said politely to the Husky.
{thanks! biggrin.gif}
Soldier sented somthing, but it was to mixed in with the muck from the ally she lived in. Somthing rustled from a few feet away from Soldier and she herd a soft pity cry. Soldier walked over to investigate and pushed away a few trash cans with her nose. It revealed two small kittens. Soldier was shocked, it was the first time she had seen a kitten for a few months. She watched as the one kitten mewed. Soldier realised that the other kitten was dead. Soldier picked up the first kitten by its scruff and brought it to her make shift hut. Soldier set her down and started to think. It would be so easy to just eat it and get it over with, but she didn't have the heart. It was so harmless, so ditry, so pathedic. The kitten reminded Soldier of herself, all alone, lost, struggleing to survive. "I'll leave it here, find food, and when I get back, if it is still here, i shall feed it a portion." soldier said.
Victoria glanced at Ty and watched the Doberman trot away before she turned her attention back to Earl. God knows she didn't want another fiasco because Ty jumped to conclusions. However, when Roe spoke up, Victoria inclined her muzzle faintly towards the other female. Might as well prevent the drama she could, although she still didn't really have much a clue as to why Ty had gotten so upset in the first place.
As Earl prepared to leave, Victoria slid into place about two feet from his side and kept in step with him. Despite his legs being longer than her own, thus his stride larger, her own size made it easy to keep a swift pace. "Don't get your hopes up," she answered, a slight scoff to her voice. "I've put enough dogs in their place to keep the others away from me." Habit crept back on her and her weight distributed to the backs of her paw pads, keeping her pawsteps quiet. "I suppose so. I don't really mind either way, although it's a nice touch for the more gullible pups out there." She shrugged. No one really called her Victoria much anyways; for some odd reason, Ty had just started to. If it hadn't been for the Doberman, Earl wouldn't have known Victoria's real name in the first place.
Roe flicked an ear in the direction the two had vanished. Two males after her? Ghost was one lucky female. She sighed and turned to the sniveling heap Tolliver had become. Her gaze hardened and her lips pulled up from her teeth, she stood over the male and growled.
"Get up you traitorous pathetic pup! You're taking a trip to the boarder and if you ever come into our territory again I will personally rip you apart." Tolliver whined and limped ahead of the beta as fast as his injured body would let him. She escorted him all the way to the southern boarder and a little beyond just to make sure.
"This is what you get when you try to undermine my brother by spreading lies!" she growled as the Shepard-cross limped away. But as he was almost out of ear shot he turned and hissed, "poor Roe... Always a beta, never an alpha. You know you'll never be on top so long as you follow after that "brother" of yours."
Roe roared with fury and took off after the exile, but Tollivers survival instinct was clearly sharper then his intelligence because he disappeared quick. Fuming Roe ran. She needed to blow off some steam, she didn't want to get back to camp and snap at someone. Her rare foul moods usually ended in someone bleeding and it usually wasn't her.
"Well, I would be proud of the name Victoria, it means 'The Victor,'" Earl said. He followed Ty the rest of the way to the den, taking note of where the Alpha settled. He would have to avoid that area as a Gamma. "I must admit, I've never been a part of a pack, the rules aren't terribly clear to me. Would you mind educating me on the more important points, Victoria?"
Luli was almost home when she was stopped and greeted by another new dog, an Akita. He gave her his name and asked for hers in return. After today's events, she was a bit taken aback by his manners; the other dogs had not had any. "Ummm...I'm Luli?" she said in a hesitant manner. Glancing around, she asked, "Why are you in my alley?" As if he had sensed her from the other end of the long alley, Kaden came bounding down the concrete towards her with Snips lagging behind due to his short legs.
"Luli!" Kaden almost howled. Right before barreling into her, Kaden stopped just short of where she was and gave her his wolfish smile.
"Where have you been missy?" Snips called out as he came scampering up. "You've been gone almost all day. We were worried a catcher had gotten you, or worse. Oh! And thanks for the sausage. It was delicious. Have you met Kelley here? We just met him today. He ran over Kaden and Kaden was gonna show him a thing or two, but I stepped in cuz I know how you don't like him getting into fights..." Snips finally took a breath and Luli took that chance to answer all his questions. "No, I wasn't caught by a human. Yes, I'm fine. You're welcome for the sausage. I was in the park, met some dogs, witnessed a fight, and decided to come home. Thank you for keeping Kay here out of trouble. And yes, I've just met Kelley when you guys arrived." She smiled down at Snips and shot a wink in Kaden's direction. If dogs or wolfdogs could blush, Kaden would have been redder than a cherry at that moment.
