Yeah I guess it's possible but not very practical in that case sad.gif . It seems the game is about 2.4 Gbs when downloaded. Too huge for bad connections.

Oh well. I will live in hope of an English release. At least I'll be getting FFXIII-2

"New" Type-0 info from Dengeki and Trollmura strikes again.

Second Play Through

It seems that the second play through will have some major changes from the first play through. For instance, you'll be able to select to take on different missions. Additionally, the role of your Class Zero will be truly shown in the second play through, with missions that put the spotlight on the class. The first play through, in contrast, focuses on overall world development.

Tabata feels that you'll get the full story on the second play through. He also said that there's a secret ending, although the conditions for unlocking it are a secret.

When you play through a second time, you can keep your level, status and other areas. You'll also have access to an item that turns time back, making seeing everything easier.

There were some reports a couple of weeks back of a secret playable character appearing in the second play through. Regarding this, Tabata tells Dengeki that all the playable characters have been revealed, and there's no secret playable character(what about this then?). His comments which made people think the game would have a secret playable character were actually in reference to sub characters.

Sequel and Other Developments

Nomura fielded a question about sequels and other developments for the game. He, Kitase and Tabata are currently engaging in secret discussions regarding sequels and other developments, but they're not at a point where they can share specifics.

What about Versus XIII then, Nomura? Weren't you excited that it was finally its time to shine? You're working in Type-0, you're working in XIII-2, you're working in KH:3D, you're starting work in KH III, there's talk of a KH:BBS sequel and now you want a Type-0 sequel?.

You're the director, concept designer, character designer and in charge of base story for Versus. There won't be a game without you so just censorkip.gif ing work on it already, for censorkip.gif's sake. And on Type-0's western release too while you're at it. In disc format.

Oh Gods of Final Fantasy! I beseech thee! Don't make this secret ending hard to get! And definitely don't tie it's fate to any mini-games!

I don't care how hard this ending is to get as long as they give me a chance to get it. The game's been released and there's still no word about an English version! censorkip.gif (╯°□° )╯︵ ┻━┻

Anyone know a mobile social gaming platform called mobage? I don't own any android or iOS device so I didn't know about it but it seems to be getting some sort of game with relation to Type-0.

Square Enix will be bringing the Final Fantasy franchise to DeNA's popular Mobage mobile social gaming platform.

A teaser site, just opened today, lists the new project simply as "Final Fantasy x Mobage," with text describing the game as "An RPG Where You Fight For Your Friends."

This social Final Fantasy game will be available this Winter. Mobage members can register in advance for the game.

Square Enix also says that the game will have some form of connectivity with Final Fantasy Type-0.

Don't worry about KHIII, Nomura hasn't actually started it. It won't be started until after Versus.

They won't start actual development until after Versus but they're already coming up with basic plot, game engine ideas and such.

Unfortunately there's still no word about a possible English release although there have been plenty of interviews with Type-0's big shots. I'm starting to loose hope T-T.

And speaking of Hope... what has that boy been eating for the past ten years?

I found out yesterday that Type-0 has Chocobo breeding...

*wants*

I don't know about chocobo breeding in XIII-2 but I know you'll be able to use them in battles through the monster catching system (pokechocobo? Why didn't anyone think of that before?) and also in races at the casino.

There's also some new info on XIII-2:

Hope is head of the first research unit at Academy, a group which hopes to create a future for the world without reliance on the fal'Cie.

The girl with the short hair is Alyssa, Hope's second-in-command. She has a cheerful personality, and is apparently treated as an idol (don't ask me why. I thought she was a he when I first saw her... and I'm still not convinced).

Academia is the new capital of Cocoon, replacing Eden from the first game.

The game will feature a new system called Time Labyrinth. Serah and friends will find themselves in these labyrinths when jumping between time periods, and they'll have to solve the puzzles they encounter in order to get out. While some are required, there are also high difficulty stages that have nothing to do with the story.

Xanadu is a theme-park like floating city where you'll find such activities as slot machines and Chocobo races. The city uses its own "Casino Coin" currency, which you can obtain with your hard earned Gil. Save up Casino Coins, and you'll be able to obtain some exclusive goods. The slot machines are shaped like an aero bike. You can earn up to 50,000 coins on one pull. For the Chocobo Race component, you can race your own Chocobo, or you can just bet on the races in order to earn Casino Coins.

I can't open most of your pictures.

Sorry about that. I fixed it and added some more screens.

I don't know why that happened. At the time I first made the post I had them openned in different tabs and just copied the URL. They all worked when I clicked on them in the post preview and It's not a website that requires registration. The pics are still there too.

Anyway I replaced the ones that didn't work so it should be fine now.

Academia looks very pretty, although I suspect the Time Labyrinth is going to be a bit of a headache xd.png

I hope the gambling/races are unrelated to the plot. I enjoy mini-games, but I hate being forced to do them.

Hope!

I hope he's an actual party member.

I keep forgetting about Versus. I don't know why. Maybe because it doesn't seem to get a lot of attention from the creators.

As far as I can tell the only mini-games we'll actually be forced to play are the ones in the Time Labyrinth necessary to proceed with the plot.

And I expect Hope to be a playable character considering he's received more attention than all the other "veteran" characters together. Still I can't ignore the thought that Noel and Serah might be the only playable human characters we'll be able to fight with and the third party member is whatever monster we choose. I hope ( laugh.gif ) not.

I have to agree Academia looks very pretty. I hope the towns have big areas to explore outside the plot. I'm the type that takes more than double of the supposed playtime on a game so I can explore every nook and cranny of the world tongue.gif .

Where did you hear this? I'd heard about Crystal Tools being used for PS3 Fabula Nova Crystallis series but not for KH 3.

But even if the game engine is the same they still have to come up with battle system ideas, basic character designs, basic plot, etc... before they can start actual development. If they're going to start developing after Versus then they have to already have something thought up.

I can't forget about it mainly because I've never been so excited for a game before. I like real time battle RPG's waaaaaay more than turn-based ones so FF is my favorite series of games just because everything else tops the fact that almost all of the main games are turn-based (or whatever variation of that they come up with).

That's why Versus is like a dream come true.

Also because I downloaded all the trailers we have of it and keep rewatching them laugh.gif

Actually I don't mind small parties, as long as the characters are likeable. If it was a team of Vanille's I'd go crazy.

Large teams are okay as long as there is a way to level non active members easily, like in FFXIII were they skill got the points even when not in battle.

I don't know about the rest of the monsters and party members but it seems your chocobos get stronger if you make then race in Xanadu. I'm assuming this means they get experience.

One of the criticisms many people had towards XIII was the lack of dungeons. To fix that they created the Time Labyrinths which are similar to the Cloister of Trials segments from FFX. The ones you encounter as part of the story are relatively simple, but the really hard ones are optional.

Types of Time Labyrinths (it seems it will be called Temporal Rift in the English version):

“Vanishing Floor”: Every time you get off a floor panel it disappears. The stage is composed of a series of floor panels and crystals. The objective is to gather all the crystals.

“Crystal Bond”: Where you must link crystals of the same shape and color with each other.

“Clock’s Needle”: Where numbered crystals appear floating over a giant clock’s dial. Details are unknown.

Chocobos who participate in Chocobo Races can get stronger and learn new abilities while racing. You can also play with the slot machines. Using them, you can acquire premium items but there are also risks.

While not a minigame itself, throwing the Moogle around to get treasure chests is also fun.

I have to admit throwing a moogle around does sound like fun laugh.gif

Edit: Why did I call Xanadu Xanadia? rolleyes.gif

I hope they release a guide for this. I think I'm going to need it lol.

If it is a guess of Serah, Noel and 'Monster of the Moment' forming a party, I'm going after a Behemoth. Let's see how the baddies like it when he stands up halfway through a fight and gets all his health back o3o

I usually use guides on second playthroughs just so I can get everything I might have missed. Well if I find myself running around for several hours not knowing what to do next I'll use it too but that usually doesn't happen.

A party with a behemoth would be awesome! But also likely to make the game boring. Behemoth vs cactuar anyone? laugh.gif

I bet there will be something in place to stop it from being a game breaker though. It's the same in any game. There'll be this creature/person that wrecks havoc every time you bump into it/them but if it ever joins your team it loses its ability to wipe the floor with things.

True. In any game I have to defeat minibosses to be able to summon them I always end up wondering whether I just suck at using them or they're making fun of me once they're in my party.

I'm still going to try and get one though (if it is possible to do so). And one of the 'toises o3o
