Taylor Summary: The conclusion to the Southern Star trilogy finds Red trying to end the war in the South and get both sides to bury their enmity and try peace. Since this goes against the will of the gods and their people, even his power of the Shadow That Walks may not be enough for centuries of genocide to end. This is the final series (unless K.J. Taylor writes more) in the Cymria series and it wraps up the previous trilogies nicely. There are new plot threads she's given herself to explore should she write more in the world, but for now this is a good conclusion series with a lot of payoffs and some happiness for once. I do recommend the entire series, it's a slow burn that's worth the conclusion. Share this post Link to post

Posted August 25, 2023 Book Number: 5 Number Of Pages: 322 Book Title: Murder at the Mansion Author: Sheila Connolly Summary: Kate is called back to her small Maryland hometown to help save it as it struggles financially. Her background in the hospitality industry seems to offer hope that she can come up with a plan to utilize a huge Victorian mansion outside the town to boost tourism. Review: Not a fan. The characters are flat and uninteresting. The one who seems to have been most interesting is murdered before we ever get to meet her. We hear a lot about the mysterious builder of the mansion, but he remains a mystery. Kate's plan is never fleshed out or presented. Does she save the town? I guess we have to read the next book in the series to find out -- if we care. At least she manages to solve the murder but that is all that is resolved. Share this post Link to post

I found out that this author actually wrote an entire series based on one of them, and I need to read them. This one is weirder. I read two short books and put them together into one entry. These guys were under 200 pages each, but fun to read.
