And funny, I got a 'no interest' with a magi and the dragon still turned green. I thought only 'bred, no egg' and 'bred an egg' would change the flames.

As far as I've seen, only outright refusal prevents a flame color change if one is possible; everything else insinuates they likely made contact of some kind for a flame to be transferred, even if nothing came of it.
