Adrienne stepped up, watching Kaiser curiously. She realized he had sent out a Gible. Of all things. Alright... She thought, pushing back a stand of her long blonde hair behind her left ear. "Go Pachirisu!!" The pokeball flew out from her hand and the red light formed into the electric squirrel. "Pachu?" The squirrel looked back at its trainer curiously. They were starting?

"Pachirisu use Growl!" Adrienne called as she adjusted her purse and set it down beside her. Luckily she was smart enough to not wear her usual skirt today and worse shorts instead. They were more comfortable and made her less aprehensive. But this person had a Gible. She was somewhat jealous of that. It wasn't every day you found a Gible.

The electric squirrel took stance, seeming to smile for a moment before emitting a low and harsh Growl at the Gible. Their battle was starting and Adrienne hoped to worry Gible enough for a distraction.

Larien hadn't seen a Bunelby before. She recognized the bunny form however from a Bunneary she had fought once. It was using tackle. Susan was going to go on the offensive from the start. "Spinarak use Scary Face!!" She called as the small spider got hit. It's face immedietly frowned as he used Scary Face while he moved a bit further away from Bunnelby. "Good! Now use Poison Sting!" She added, knowing that even if it didn't hit, the spider could at least have that as a warning shot. Poison Sting was easier to hit when your oppenent got close. Hopefully Susan would realize that.

The blade of air flew at Wing-wings, knocking him back. Icarus shouted instructions to him as he lay on the ground. No longer dazed, he quickly got up after tottering around for a few seconds and quick-attacked towards the enemy pidove, before attempting to slash him with a wing-attack while at close range.

Icarus watched in anticipation. It wasn't going too well, unfortunately. Wing-wings had taken the first hit, and probably would have a lowered morale. He tried his best to encourage the scared little bird." Wing-wings, you can do it! Go get him!" Wing-wings chirped back happily.

Alv looked at the two Pokeball in each of his hands. Which one should he choose? Flots was more exxperienced than Chubs, but he was still hyperactive and didn't care which one he chose, he just wanted to battle. The next battle between Dana and Melissa had just ended. Alv and the other boy, Dave folllowed the woman into another section of the arena and faced his opponent. "Okay Chubs!" He said quickly. "I choose you!" He threw the ball and a white ray of light appeared, it materialized and formed into the Dedenne. "Ded!" I squeaked, and then suddenly in a malevolent voice: "END!"

Dave watched Dedenne come out of the pokeball. He smirked, knowing either of his pokemon were going to have this down easy. But what would it come down to? He could easily choose Dwebble and surprise his oppenent, or he could play it more tactfully and choose Pansear. Pansear it was.

"Go Pansear!" Dave called as he brushed back his hair from his face. A few blonde strands stubbornly stayed put as the pokemon appeared. "Panseeaar!!" The fire monkey challenged, an equal smike plastered across his face. With his trainer's talent in tactfullness he didn't doubt their ability to win. The fight wasn't going to be easy.

"Alright Pansear! Play Nice!" Dave called suddenly, going for an attack lowering move that would hit no matter what. Pansear soon adapted a friendly demeanor and wandered over to Dedenne, soon acting as if it had become friends with the fellow pokemon. The two seemed to get along rather nicely. "Now use Leer!!" Dave added in the midst of the two startingt to get along. Pansear finished Play Nice and soon took up a Leering gaze at Dedenne with a pause in between as he took a step back for greater effect.

Each of the battles was intense, even for the beginner's division. Of course, Florent didn't see many beautiful strategies being employed, and he was determined to give the crowd a show. He lived for the attention, after all. A little nervous and little apprehensive, he paced up to his side of the field while the referee completed the mandatory reading of the rules. When given the signal, he tossed his pokeball; he knew who he was going to pick.

"Chick-pea, take the stage!" Chikorita materialized from white light and let out a shout for everyone to hear, ready for battle.

Larien

Bunnelby covered is face with its arms as it saw the Poison Stings coming at it. The rabbit stopped until the attack was over. Cleaning its arms as if saying "that didn't hurt" the pokemon prepared for another move "Agility" called the female trainer. in the glimpse of an eye, the Bunnelby ran across the arena at fast speed, it approached the Spinarak atempting to hit it, but tripped with its own foot while turning around and crashed on the ground infront of the spider.

Icarus

As the Starlyrecovered from the previous attack, the Pidove turned to its trainer waiting for a command "maybe I should've chosen Pachirisu" mumbled the girl, unaware that her pokemon was now a clear target. The Pidove chirped trying to call her attention, but when the girl finally turned, it was too late, the Quick Attack had struck the pidgeon to the ground. Pidove stood up, one of its legs clearly hurt, but if it stood in the air it wouldn't matter. "oh Pidove I'm sorry! I'm really sorry!" said the girl. The bird turned to her and chirped with a serious look on its face as if telling her to focus. The girl shrugged "ok Pidove... Growl and then use Gust again!" she called. The pidove nodded and while in the air it let out a loud chirping noise, its own version of Growl. As soon as it saw the Starly distracted by the odd sound, it started flapping its wings, creating strong air currents around them both and releasing the air blade from before at the bird once again.

Kaiser

Kaiser awaited for the battle to start, when the referee gave the signal he saw the girl giving her pokemon a command, without intentions of loosing time he did the same "Gible prepare for a Dragon Rage!" he called. Gible nodded and as the Pachirisu approached and released a Growl on him, the mall Land Shark Pokemon released the blue orb of energy that had already been formed in his mouth. As the ball headed towards Pahirisu, Kaiser called for another move "as soon as it approaches, use Sand Attack and when you get the chance Tackle it" he said. Gible nodded, using one of his arms to dig into the ground, preparing for his next move.

"May the best win!" Alv shouted at Dave. "Okay Chubs! Use Tackle!" Chubs obeyed, charging forward, she thrusted herself forward and rammed the Pansear in the stomach, she quickly retreated by Alv, waiting for his next command. "That's good! You're doing a great job" He smiled at her and she squeaked back.

Emilia followed the women's instructions and returned her pokemon to their respective balls. After all the trainers were introduced everyone turned their attention to the screen which displayed the randomly chosen battles. She nervously held Opal's pokeball for support and noted that she was to face a trainer named Cole in the third round after Larien's battle. Though unfortunately only the first two trainers stayed as everyone else was guided to a holding tent. There she ran over simulations in her head over what she could be facing and who to counter with.

Once her turn was up she made her way to the farthest trainers box per the women's instructions. Emilia had finally made up her mind to use Opal in the first round since she had battled with the Vulpix more and had more strategies with the pokemon.

"Alright Opal" she called letting the pokemon out of her ball.

Opal began licking her fur as she waited for their opponent to release his pokemon.

Emilia on the other hand called a "Good luck" to Cole.

The Pansear held its ground with the tackle. With the lowered attack of the Dedenne, the small mouse didn't seem that threatening. Granted, the attack still hurt a little, but not as much as it would have. The fire monkey's Leer had also lowered Dedenne's defense a little, so Pansear had that going for it. "Use Scratch!" Dave called, knowing Lick wouldn't really be advantageous for this battle.

The pokemon rushed the mouse, Scratching the smaller pokemon on its stomach too, soon running past it. Pansear held a smirk again after that, confident that the other pokemon was no match for it. Dave was proud, though he expected another attack from Dedenne. "Use Leer again Pansear!" Dave called shortly after the Scratch hit. With an intimidating look, the fire monkey stared down the fair-mouse.

Kaiser

"Use Quick-attack!" Adrienne called as Pachirisu got hit by the Dragon Rage. The odd puffs of smoke from the hit disppeared as the squirrel charged the small land shark, hitting before the Sand-attack could be dug up. "Chirsu!" Pachirisu called as she tackled the land shark, soon jumping back to avoid the Sand-attack that would be kicked up. "Good!" Addirenne awarded, smiling. This was getting a bit fun. "Use Growl again Pachirisu and watch out for more Dragon Rage!" The Squirrel started to comply, working up another Growl as the land shark was preparing the Tackle.

~~~~~~
Larien sighed. She hated Agility. So lowering the bunny's speed wouldn't work. "Spinarak, fire off a few String Shots and create a couple of web-like structures so Bunnery can't use Agility as well!" She called as the bunny ran around. It tripped though. Why did it trip?
The spider complied and fired off a String Shot from its mouth and other end, having the sections land anywhere they wanted on the ground. It created some odd spots of things to trip on. But it also had given Bunnery time to stand up. "That's alright!" Larien called with a smile as the spider noticied this. Agility hopefully would be harder to pull off now. "Use Poison Sting again and don't concentrate the fire!" She called off, expecting the bunny to run somewhere. "Spinarak!!" Spinarak called offensively, soon firing off the small poison darts as it turned in a little circle. Luckily for the trainers, the spray didn't fly to their respective sides in the painted boxes they were in.
Emilia
As the woman told him to follow, Cole took his time, he wasn't that desperate to begin the battle. Once he arrived at the arena, he could see the big crowd, not really intimidating for him. He turned to the girl on the other side "hmmph!" was all he replied to her. The boy took one of his pokeballs and threw it to the arena, releasing a Murkrow. Once both pokemon when on the arena, the referee called for the start of the battle. "Murkrow, Peck" the boy called. The Murkrow who looked as apathic as its trainer not only seemed to smile but to laugh at the order. The black bird dove towards the fox, with its beak first it landed the Peck attack before returning to the air, flapping its wings to stay at the same position as if taunting the Vulpix to come at it.
Larien
The Bunnelby soon recovered from the tripping, it turned around to find the arena was filled with web like structures all around, next time it tried to use Agility it would be really hard to avoid them. Though that was not the problem it should eb worried about now. The Spinarak had released a shower of Poison Stings. Bunnelby tried to dodge as many as posible, but as it hope from one place to the other, it stepped on one of the web structured, getting stuck, it recieved a good amount of the falling Poison Stings on its body. Susan shrugged, but it was not going to stop them, nto so soon "Bunnelby! use your Agility to get out of that!" the girl called almost angered. Bunnelby nodded, it trie to move as fast as it could, but it took the rabbit some time to free itself from the silk. As soon as it was freed, bunnelby tried to run again, so the remaining silk would get off its feet, though as it did, it stepped on a few of the scattered poisonous barbs. Bunnelby's clumsy nature was now no mistery, the pokemon followed every command, but at the same time it found a way to mess up its trainer's orders. The rabbit stopped, apaprently tired, but it wasn't due to the run, its face showing a purple blush, it had been Poisoned. Susan stomped the ground angered, she knew this could happen but she didn't imagined Bunnelby would Poison himself. "use Tackle!" she said, she knew that they had go full offensive now before the Poison took the best of Bunnelby. The rabbit nodded and ran towards the spider, landing another Tackle, this time using its legs as impulse to hit ti with its whole body.
Kaiser
Kaiser remained unfazed, he expected something like that to happen, he knew small pokemon like Pachirisu could learn Quick Attack from a low level, this only meant he'd have to use another tactic. As he saw the squirrel getting close to Gible he knew he had to take the chance. "Gible use Sand Attack" he said. Gible nodded, and scratched the ground as he moved forwards, hitting the the squirrel with his body as he threw sand straight at Pachirisu's face, he wouldn't be surprised if even soem of it got to the pokemon's mouth. Now with the squirrel's face covered by the dust, Kaiser knew it was their chance to attack "use Dragon Rage" he said. Gible nodded and started forming the orb of energy in his mouth, preparing to release it as soon as it was completely formed.
((Glad I cleared that whole fiasco up with Ryu. The NPC's name has changed -- sorry for taking so long.))
Dana
Natalie was so incredibly pumped for battle, she was at a loss for words. She flipped her honey-blonde hair and swept the bangs out of her eyes. She was visibly jittery, and her excitement made her nearly fumble her pokeball when her opponent, Dana, sent out his pokemon. (Dana sounded like a girl's name to her, but who was she to judge?) She was not nervous at all -- quite the opposite, actually. She felt like she could take on the world, and then take home grand prize.
"Mudkip, I choose you!" She tossed her pokeball with a large movement that made the edges of her skirt flutter. The device traced a high ark in the air, and released the water pokemon on to the field. Mudkip was just as spirited as Natalie was -- it cried out its name and stared down Skorupi, the radar-like fin on its head twitching and sampling the air.
"Start it off with a Water Gun, like we practiced!" Natalie ordered, each of her commands punctuated by wide gestures. Mudkip immediately opened its mouth wide and let out a strong gush of water, right towards the scorpion pokemon.
Dana flinched. "Like we practiced", the girl had said. He hadn't practiced at all, unless the battle with Florent yesterday counted, much less formulated a plan. Still, it was going to be okay, right? Skorupi was a capable battler. The type matchups were neutral, too, so all he had to do was attack and hope for the best. He nodded. "Alright, Poison Sting! And try to get in close!"
Skorupi had been staring intently at the Mudkip when it suddenly opened its mouth to attack. She jumped but didn't manage to completely clear the stream of water in time. Her tail was caught, and she flew backward before landing heavily on her feet. She let out an indignant "skruuuup!" - now that wouldn't do at all. Obeying her trainer's orders, she jumped again, this time leaping forward, and shot a barrage of poisoned needles at her opponent from above.
Score! It wasn't a direct hit, but the attack grazed the Skorupi, who countered by shooting a series of glowing purple barbs at the water pokemon. Natalie didn't think her Mudkip would dodge in time, but kept up hope. "Keep going, Mudkip! Water Gun again!"
Mudkip tried to defend itself with its tail, but gave up half way, rather attempting to shake off the poison barbs which struck it directly. In retaliation, it let out another jet of water. At first it missed the scorpion pokemon who had jumped into the air, but the mud fish pokemon readjusted its aim in an gambit to score a solid hit this time.
Starly got distracted by the growl and was once again hit by the gust. It knocked him to the ground, where he felt a soreness in his wing from when he had landed at it. He chirped in fear and got back up. He was nervous now. What if his wing was broken? What if he could never fly again? What If-
"Wing-wings! C'mon buddy, stop spacing out. Focus! Get close and Wing-attack him again! Growl right in his face too!"
Wing-wings flew at the other bird. It seemed to be more calm than himself. He took a deep breath and slashed at the enemy followed by chirping loudly.
From the sidelines, Icarus watched anxiously. He didn't want to lose his first battle. From within their pokeballs, Grim and Tanaka watched Wing-wings fight. Tanaka was shaking the pokeball, anxious to get out. She wanted badly to join the fight, but stopped fidgeting when Icarus put a hand on her pokeball.
"Not now, Tanaka."
She whimpered and sat stil.
Kaiser
Pachurisu shook its head to get the sand out of its mouth. The Sand Attack had interrupted the very end of the Growl. So Growl wasn't working. Pachurisu could still see, though it hurt some in its left eye. "Pachurisu!" The squirrel looked at its trainer as the Dragon Rage was being prepared. "Use Quick Attack and try to hit it... then use bide immedietly after." "Pachu!!" Pachurisu nodded and charged harder at the land shark. The attack hit the other pokemon head-on as it still prepared the Dragon Rage. Maybe the hit would interrupt the attack.
Either way, Pachurisu stayed closeby. A thin white light enveloped the pokemon as it started Bide. Adrienne hoped this would work.
~~~~~

Larien watched the bunny pokemon run around. Spinarak did the same, waiting to see what happened. He occasionally glanced at his trainer, who returned a reassuring look. They were different. But so was Spinarak and herself.

"Spinarak, use Constrict when you get a chance! Like you did on me!" She said with a smile as the bunny started to use Tackle.

"Spina! Spinarak!" Spinarak called back happily, bracing itself for the tackle. It hurt, especially with the extra whole body hit. But the spider quickly fired off a thicker amoung of string, having that latch on to the bunny at close range. He began pulling himself toward it. "Use Poison Sting when you feel ready!" Larien called again, trusting Spinarak to judge the proper time.

The spider continued to pull on the thread, making sure that if Bunnelby ran, he would still be able to hold on. He was getting closer with each quick pull to finish the move. Poison Sting at point-blank range seemed like a wonderful idea.

Larien smiled a little more. She didn't realize it when they were practicing, but Spinarak's Constrict looked an aweful lot like a Spinarak and Ariados hunting tactic. Maybe thats why it had been able to be taught so oddly. It was instinct that neither of them had connected. Not until now. "You're doing wonderful Spinarak!!!" Larien encouraged, jumping up and down a little with an excited look on her face. Spinarak responded to that happily, working a little faster as he continued to get closer to latch around Bunnelby himself.

The Pidove seemed confident after its last attack had landed. The pokemon distracted in its pride, didn't se the Starly coming until it was too late. The Wing Attack from the Starly had dealt a lot of damage to the Pidove, sending it back to the ground, but this time, the pidgeon managed to stop the falling by using a Gust to the ground. Pidove seemed to start panting as it tried to go back to the air, but it was surprised by the Starly using a Growl right on its face. Pidove backed off, that was really startling, speacilyl after th last attack.

Alexx covered her face when she saw her pokemon falling to the ground, expecting the crashing sound, though it never came, her Pidove had managed to stop the falling. The girl sighed in relief but she too missed the Starly coming at Pidove and though ti came for another attack. Not knowing what to do the girl called an anxious "Leer!" almost shouting. The Pidove recovered its senses when it heard its trainer. Shaking its head, the bird turned to the Starly Leering at the pokemon before it decided on its own to use another Gust attack, flapping its wings rapidly, though it was clear that the creation of the gust was taking it more time.

Larien

"by by! bun~lby!" the rabbit cried when it felt the Spider attached to its body. The now nervous rabbit used its Agility to try to get the Spider dizzy, to no avail. The spider was not oing to let it go. Susan watched angered how her pokemon was geing outmatched by the spider, she had to do something and soon! Bunnelby finally stoppign running when it felt the effects of the Poison hurting it, the rabbit stopped in the middle of the arena, the spider attached to it and started panting. Taking the opening the Spinarak released another Poison Sting attack, much to Bunnelby's discomfort.

Susan was now more angered, though somethign good came of it, the spider had let go off Bunnelby, this was her chance to make it pay. "Bunnelby! use Quick Attack!" the re haired girl called angry. Bunnelby turned to her with an "are you serious" look on its face, it was almost beaten now. But its trainers face remained unfazed by its look, it had no choice, it had to obey. "by by!" the pokemon cried as it rushed at the spider with all the remains of its strength in what was possibly its last attack. Susan didn't said a word, she knew Bunnelby was going to collapse after this attack, that was inevitable, but if her pokemon was going down, she was taking her foe down as well.

Kaiser

Both Kaiser and Gible were surprised when the Pachirisu's Quick Attack forced Gible to close his mouth with an almost complete Dragon Rage, forcing the dragon to practically eat the attack. That was... not that bad, yes it had interrumpted Gible's attack, but it had given them the chance to try somethign Kaiser had in mind already. For what he knew when a Dragon Type pokemon ate a move like Dragon Rage, their strength was greatly increased, though, it lasted for a short time. Gible's body seemed to glow in a blue tone, slightly darker than his own skin. Watching at Gible, he could tell the pokemon was as surprised as he was, if not more. Maybe this was the chance to see if it would work. "Gible... use Dragon Rage!" the trainer called. Gible nodded and once again started creating the orb of energy in his mouth, this time it didn't took long for Gible to focus the energy need and it also was bigger than before. The dragon released the powerful attack at the Pachirisu who only stood there, enduring the attack despite the huge explosion it caused.

Kaiser was confused, why didn't it move? But he remembered, the squireel was using Bide and no matter how strong an attack was, it was staying there to endure it. Maybe they could make that work in their favor, yes, it would release a powerful attack back at Gible after a couple moves, though, if it was defated before it could release the energy, there was noting to worry about. "Gible! Don't loose time, Tackle it!" he called. Gible nodded and ran towards the Pachirisu, hitting the squirrel with a full body Tackle, hopefully that was going to be enough to defeat the electric pokemon, else, there was a really strong attack they'll have to worry after this.

Pachurisu endured the attack, not even crying out as the stronger Dragon Rage attacked it. That hurt. Bad. But, the squrrel only had to endure one more before the attacks would be returned. Yet, it new as well as Adrienne knew that Pachurisu could only take so much. And almost luckily the Gible didn't use another Dragon Rage. But the tackle didn't help. It knocked into Pachurisu with force and the squirrel feared now that Adrienne might not do anything.

Adrienne was unsure what to do. She could tell, just from Pachurisu's face, that this battle was basically over. "Release your attack!" Adrienne yelled, hoping Pachurisu could manage that. "Pachu-chu!" Pachurisu said weakly, soon releasing the energy. It barely grazed the Gible due to being so weak now. "Pachurisu!!" Adrienne was worried now. Pachurisu didn't even wait for a command and as a last ditch effort, it started a Quick Attack again. It was visably slower though still fast enough to not just be considered a Tackle.

~~~~~~
Larien watched as Spinarak was flung toward her somewhat by the Quick Attack. "Spiiiiiinnn!!" Spinarak called in pain from the hit, flying backward and skidding a little as it landed. "Spinarak you alright!!?" Larien called worriedly, debating to rush to her pokemon's aid. The stubborn little spider righted itself quickly for the attack it endured. He had a very angry face on his abdomen and seemed highly determined to win this. "Right." Larien nodded, looking over to the Bunnelby. She figured it had to be down to its last moments thanks to the Poison. "Spinarak, use Poison Sting again. If they rush you, concentrate it more to where they're coming at you. If not, try to keep them from getting close." She explained, watching as the spider fired off an even more concentrated amount of poisoned barbs. She guessed that was due to being angered, or, considered that Spinarak hadn't used Poison Sting to it's full potential. Either way it was an odder sight than before. She hoped the spider would be alright for the rest of the tournament if they made it. She still wondered how Skorupi and Spinarak would be if they got to fight. Could the two put aside their friendship for that battle? It didn't seem very likely.
((TUM, I'm sorry, I had forgotten I was supposed to control your battle as well, sorry unsure.gif))
Florent
Once he was signaled to make his way to the arena, Tom followed the lady to the trainer box. He smiled as he saw his opponent "good luck!" he shouted from the other side, smiling and wacing at him. Once Florent had sent his pokemon to the arena Tom did the same, throwing his pokeball and releasing his Elekid. Once both pokemon were on the arena the referee called for the beginning of the battle.
Once the order to begin was called Tom smiled, he was excited about this battle "Elekid Quick Attack!" the boy called. The "bibibi!" the pokemon cried excited as well, moving hsi arms like fans, Elekid prepared to attack and in the blink of an eye he ahd gotten to Florent's Chikorita and hit it with his right side, throwing the pokemon a few feet from its trainer while Elekid remained in his position calling a proud "bi bi!"
Larien
As Bunnelby reached for Spinarak to land its last attack, it was struck by yet more Poison Stings. The rabbit couldn't take it anymore, and succumbed to the atatck combined by the damage dealt by the Poison. The rabbit cried a tired "by by bunnelby" as it fainted on the ground defeated. The referee noticed Bunnelby was not able to continue anymore and despite the mumbles and groans of its anfry trainer he called off the battle "Bunnelby is unable to continue, Spinarak and Larien win the battle!" he called.
The crowd roared with cheers happy at the battle they've witnessed, Susan on the other hand, returned her Bunnelby to its pokeball and without saying a word she left the arena, not in silence though, she went all the way mumbling angered at both Bunnelby for not being able to win.
Kaiser
"Gible watch out!" Kaiser shouted as he saw the enrgy being released from Pachirisu. The powerfull attack didn't hit Gible straight, instead, only half of his body was hit by the powerful surge released by the small squirrel, maybe it was because the pokemon had been weakened or maybe it was just luck, but Gible had managed to endure most of the damage. Though the battle was not over, Pachirisu shot itself against Gible in another Quic Attack, though he could tell it was slower than before. Kaiser knew tGible had to counter the attack and since a Dragon Rage would take more time than the time they ahd a Tackle would have to do.
"Gible use Tackle!" the trainer called. Gible obeyed and even when his right side of the body was soring from the previous attack, he ran at the Pchirisu, aiming to collide against the pokemon as it appraocehd him. After both attack had crashed, a big cloud of dust covered the field. Unsure if that collision had been enough to defeat the Pachirisu, Kaiser called for Gible to prepare to continue "Gible, as soon as you can see it use Sand Attack and follow it with a Dragon Rage" he said. Gible nodded and as soon as he could see the squirrel's shape he started throwing sand at it, preparing another Dragon Rage atatck to release it as soon as the Pachirisu tried to attack again.
Skorupi was hit by the attack this time, but grasped the ground tightly and refused to be pushed back. Dana watched anxiously. Skorupi had pretty good special defence for an unevolved Pokemon, but they couldn't afford to take too many hits. Leer wouldn't affect the power of the Mudkip's water attacks either. "Follow it up with a Bite!"
Skorupi shook herself to get the water out of her eyes and charged forward, snapping her jaws at the Mudkip.
Adrienne cringed when the two pokemon collided and dust went everywhere. No sound came from that that Adrienne could decipher as bad or good. Oddly enough, she didn't even hear any cry from either pokemon. But soon the dust started to clear and Pachurisu's shape was formed again. The electric squirrel was barely standing, being pelted with more dust. It took just one more step before falling over, exhausted. "Pachurisu!!" Adrienne called worriedly, realizing the battle was definitely over now.
"Pachurisu is unable to battle! Gible wins!" The referee called as he raised the arm corresponding to Kaiser's side. Adrienne recalled her fainted Pachurisu, patting the ball as she turned and walked out of the painted box. "Good battle... Kaiser!!" She called back to be good sport. She was happy for him, albeit also disappointed that she didn't win.
~~~~~~~

Larien smiled happily as Spinarak scurried over to her with an equal smile on his face. He was tired, that was plain to see, but also extremely happy as well. "You did great!" She picked up the spider as someone escorted her back to the waiting section they had been in before. A lady politely asked her to recall Spinarak, who reluctantly complied, and took his pokeball to be properly healed. It didn't take forever, as Larien expected, but it did take enough time for her to be asked multiple questions and siphoned off from the main group for a few more minutes to make finalizations. By then, and by the time Larien was allowed to watch the rest of the battles on a screen between the two screens that showed the current brackets, her Spinarak was brought back to her. Out of his pokeball nonetheless.

He seemed overly happy to see her and quickly latched back on to her head. His proper place. "You know when you get bigger you aren't going to be able to do that Spinarak..." Larien teased, poking the spider a little. They found a spot to sit to watch the rest of the battles properly shortly after.

"Alright." Alv said to Dave. "You wanna use Leer? Well Chubs, use... Tail Whip!" Chubs blushed, turned around and bent down. She calmly wagged her tail back and forth before turning back to the Pansear. "Okay, now Tackle him again!" She obeyed, running up to the Pansear and tackling it to the ground, she ran back and Alv gave her a pat on the head.

Pansear got right back up, slightly angered by being tackled to the ground. "Use Scratch!" Dave ordered as the fire-monkey happily obliged. It ran at the tiny mouse, Scratching its front as it ran past Alv and turned. "Scratch again Pansear!" Dave called, wanting to wear down the Dedenne as much as it would allow with the two Leers taken and the lowered attack from Play Rough. The monkey ran at the mouse again, uppercutting to Scratch this time.

Chubs looked at the Pansear with shock, the monkey had done a few critical scratches and Chubs could feel herself getting weaker and weaker. "Chubs, you can do this." Alv encouraged her. "Use... Tackle!" Chubs looked at her trainer, why so many Tackles? When could she start using her Thunder Shock? "Go on, trust me, it'll work!" Chubs obeyed, and sped towards the Pansear, tackling it once again. "Okay, Dave, whatever your name is." Alv said angrily. "If you want to do two moves, I'll do two moves. Now Chubs, use Thunder Shock!" A a bolt of lightning shot right out of her body and hit Pansear in the face, making Alv smirk at Dave.

Wing-wings panted heavily. The effort was wearing him out fast. He was feeling paranoid, and as such barreled to the left as soon as the Pidove leered at him, afraid of being hit. He crashed into the ground again, but got up faster this time. Less energetic this time, he quick attacked towards the Pidove, oblivious to the gust it was stirring up. He was hit right as he closed in, dazing him. Despite being stunned, inertia was still sending him towards the Pidove at a high speed.

Icarus watched, worried. He was afraid that Wing-wings would get hurt, but he felt victory was possible. The battle could go either way at this point.

"Buddy! Just a bit more!"

Icarus

Pidove was too focused on its attack to stop at the coming Starly. The pidgeon tried to counter the Starly's speed by putting more strength into its attack, only being able to slow the other bird a bit. Pidove took a deep breath, it now knew how this would end. The pokemon recieved the Starly's hit on its chest, without nothing to stop the other bird, Pidove was hurt badly, falling to the ground on its back due to the hit. Pidove panted heavily as its trainer covered her mouth scared. "Pidove you ok?!" the girl asked more nervous than she should be. The referee watched intently as the bird was not reacting, this battle was going to finish. The man satrted to raise his hand when the bird chirped, standing from the ground with great effort. Pidove chirped seriously, it was not done yet.

The bird stood on the ground, determination on its face, but as it tried to flap its wings to get back to the air, it was not able to, one of its wings was too sore to move it. The referee understood "Pidove is unable to continue, Starly and Icarus win the battle" he called. Alexx noticed it too, Pidove was not going to be able to continue batling now. Taking her pokeball she returned Pidove "I'm sorry Pidove, it is my fault you lost" she said to the pokemon and left the arena with her face down, she wa snot only dissapointed about loosing the battle, but bcause she failed to her pokemon as well.

Kaiser

Gible's Dragon Rage was stopped as the referee called the end of the battle, they had won. Both Kaiser smiled as Gible cried a happy "gible gible!" in the middle of the arena, they ahd won their first battle. "good battle you too" Kaiser answered to his opponent as she left. The trianer kneeled to congratulate Gible for the wining. The panting dragon smiled before Kaiser returned him to his pokeball to have some rest. Kaiser made his way back to the participants tent to watch the rest of the battles, it wouldn't take long for this round to be over and he wnted to know the matchings for the second round as soon as possible.
