I've tried inbreeding a few times, but no luck so far: inbred stair inbred even-gen

 

That is an awesome dream, daba555! I hope it comes true

I'm afraid it was just a tease, but obviously my sub-conscious thinks it's a great idea

 

A friend has been doing some PB, up to 3rd gen so far, and several more pairs to continue with, but put it on hold in case there's a new release tonight.

 

I also was thinking maybe it needs to be with albinos...or, it's just a pipe dream. It's been ages, so probably just that.

Just woke up from a dream about a white version of this dragon, in which I was the first to breed an albino Black Tea...

 

The egg was frosty-looking, sort of like if the Albino eggs were shades of white, and glowed just a bit.

 

The worst part?  I woke up before it hatched....

The egg was white, but the patterns were a very subtle pink

 

The hatchlings were white with pink eyes

 

And the adult dragon was white, and the black/dark grey parts were light pink

I wish we could have an albino alt to the black tea dragons. I think it'd look awesome.

 

I'm guessing it really was just a random bit of info in the description, not an actual possibility, but I can dream!

For the record, I bred one of my female Black Teas to a Striped, and got a white Striped egg. I kinda expected a black or a red, but alright.

It's a PB 3rd-EG with sibling parents. Now we wait and see if perhaps it hatches a different color...

 

And in the meantime, I will be breeding more siblings to try, in case there is a factor like 1/4 of inbred Black Teas alt albino... Or perhaps it needs to be inbred twice, or thrice, before it alts!

 

... I can't help but think I'm getting carried away with this in my head.

Well, I was away for two weeks working at a summer camp with no internet, BUT, I'm back online, and back to my eeeevil genetic experiments in the lab! MWAHAHAHAAAA!

 

...ahem. That is to say, I will be returning to my inbreeding attempts asap. At the moment, I have two parents, Cherry Rooibos (m) and Raspberry Rooibos (f). They have three children, Sloe Rooibos (m), Strawberry Rooibos (m), and Berry Rooibos (f). Sloe and Berry have bred two children thus far, Raspberry Delicacy and Mulberry Rooibos, both of whom have normal coloration.

 

Next, I plan to breed a fourth sibling to Sloe, Strawberry, and Berry, to be a female mate for Strawberry, to create a 2nd pair for 3rd gen inbred attempts. I will also continue to breed Sloe and Berry to obtain a male mate for Mulberry, and then try breeding a 4th inbred generation of the lineage.

 

Juuuuust an update for anyone who was curious (but reluctant to breed their own inbreds!). I have to admit, I feel a little icky about it, myself!

Anyone else having trouble getting males? I have 6 of them. 2 ungendered and four females. -.-

I've really been having trouble with the genders. I've hardly influenced any of them female, and influenced a ton male, and I still have more females than males! They keep ignoring the influence, and pretty much guarantee to be female if I don't influence. Oh well, keeps things interesting.

 

No luck so far with my inbreeding experiments.

So I just went to the Halloween carnival and looked in the "house of magnificent marvels", and now I reeeeaalllllllly want the albino Black Tea to be true even more!

Oh good, I wasn't the only one hoping for an eventual albino black tea dragon! (Like I said in the Halloween thread, I forgot rather quickly especially since later on in the anniversary release people weren't as fond as alts thanks to the coppers...)

Honestly, I wouldn't be on dragon cave whithout Black teas.

 

On a different website, I saw a Male black tea dragon on someones page. I clicked on it and I was thinking 'hey, this website has attractive sprites, it seems interesting enough, and it doesn't seem like those sites that drain your wallet. Why not try it out?' and that's why I started DC.

you can get lots of them (mints) in the AP, with some patience for grabbing and abandoning those that aren't.

 

That mint tea sounds lovely

 

I haven't looked yet, but I came to see if anyone said anything about the Halloween albino tea...it said "add milk" and since there were hints when it first came out, about albinos, I want to see if anyone had any ideas.

 

I'm going to search back now through the posts, but thought I'd mention it anyway

 

EDIT: yes, I see I'm not alone, although no ideas...just yearnings. I imagine that the Halloween albino tea was a 1-time deal, but wouldn't it be lovely if it's not?

I wonder how easy/hard of a time people are having breeding other dragons from teas? I'm trying a checker with the above but three teas so far. (Not complaining, as I'd love to hoard teas, but hard to make a checker without any of the other dragon, lol.)

 

My fourth even gen pb will be able to go to fifth gen soon!

 

Thinking of doing a line of different types of teas, so the cb line would be green x tea, mint x tea, black x tea, white x tea, etc. and future gens all just teas. Because I love the black tea sprites, but I do like the play on words in combining dragons to make different teas.

I don't know about other people, but ALL I'm getting are teas. with this pairing: http://dragcave.net/lineage/51g22 I've bred at least 7 tea and no terrae

After reading this, I got my friend to try 5 times - 3 teas, 1 refusal, 1 no egg.

 

I was able to try twice - both teas.

 

All went to the AP.

 

I had been breeding bleeding moons, but had the same problem. Everything I bred resulted in bleeding moons.

 

I had planned the same black tea/terrae lineage, think I'll quit while I'm ahead

Whenever I need a 2nd gen. Horse from Black Tea, I post up a trade with a shimmer for one. ^.^
