Ceto

Her blue eyes shot up toward Theresa, and for once, her eyes softened. Ceto wasn't one to give any honeyed looks or sweet words, but if someone really did need comfort and was under enough stress, she would give all she had in her. "I'll take your advice, Theresa. I'll tell the master gunner to not shoot until we have sufficient amount of ammunition." she told her, clasping her first mate's shoulder and gripping it. "You have a good heart, Theresa, and a good mind. Hope you won't fail me, cause I'd hate to be the one to punish ye." with that, she walked away, briskly at first, and then more slowly when she spotted Cullen. He was a splotch of red in a sea of dark colors. Well, except for Castiel... But red was much more appealing than blond. "'s a nice ship, ain't she?" she asked, giving him a look that firmly stated that he should agree if he didn't want to be pinched in the gut. "Same ship I was raised on. She can outrun and outfight everyone. Just like her captain." she told him stubbornly as she pulled out a wad of tobacco and wound it up in parchment. She set it on fire at the very tip and began to smoke. "Want some of this?" she asked, pulling out some more. "Eases some of your nerves."

Gah! Rome! Beautiful city, as always, but docking was a drag. It tore the woman from her life's work. Yes, yes, a woman who loved the ship. It was her home, her job, her life, her creed. Creed! The assassin's creed. Aye. Assassins on pirate ships. Not too far a leap, most would say. Damned censorkip.gif***s always takin' and takin' for 'mselves. Well, that was just a selfish thing to do. And with them all running amok in more than one city...hectic.

Abe sighed as she strolled about the city. She could hear Ceto talkin' to someone and Garrett chasing women. He was novice. Abe could attract more women in a second than he could in an hour. Not that she particularly wanted to, but she had once. Life got dull aboard a ship without the guns to speak to her, keep her company. Them cannons were her life, as anyone with eyes and half a brain would conclude within half a second of meeting her. Anything and everything was second to them guns. She's readily take as many as she could fit under her arms if she had to abandon ship or leave 'er. Suddenly, she bumped into a woman about her height, slightly shorter than average but still imposing and beautifully deadly enough to make an impression. Both with dark hair, dark eyes, olive skin. But Abe was more weathered, more wind-beaten, more salt-skinned. This woman's name was Aelia Cato, and she was the only creed-born master in Rome. She had a drive and awful, quiet kind of temper that made her unpleasant up close, but one to behold from afar. She was strong-willed and snarky, but temperamental and bad news for any man stupid and boastful enough to think he could get her. But to children, homeless little children that were helpless under the Templars' rule, she was nearly a saint. Always giving as much as she could manage so they could buy bread and wine to eat and drink. But Abe was different. She could pass anyone on the street and not give a cent, though she was fairly rich (unbeknownst to every mate, 'cludin' the cap'n). She had a clear conscience, knowing that she had enough to clean and take care of all them guns. She loved 'em true and that was the basis of her being. Her understanding and caring for them. The dreadlocked woman had such a kinship with them that she was almost famous for her talents. But she was a woman and utterly hated it. Not that she didn't like the gifts and burdens she was born with, but she hated the men that abused them. She hated having been a slave (aye, she'd been a slave on the very vessel that she loved wholeheartedly at that point in time), she hated the men that used her for pleasure because of the sparse sources of entertainment on the vast seas and she hated being spat upon and disrespected. She hated, hated, hated it so much that she changed her name. Aye. Ol' Abigail, the polite, proper, dainty woman became Abe, the strong, quiet, angry, gun-loving master gunner aboard a strange ship with a cap'n and first mate both as women. Ah, a strange ship indeed. All this she thought as she apologized and walked away, just biding her time before they could set sail once more.

Theresa sighed, watching the Captain vanish into the ship. "I hope yer right." She said, lapsing into English with a slightly altered accent. She needed to do something. If she just hung around the deck doing nothing, then the foreboding feeling of the end of something would overwhelm her hope that they could make it. She knew on any other ship, no, every other ship there wouldn't be an opportunity like this again. The fact that she was first mate over a male friend of Ceto's was remarkable, the fact that Ceto was mildly friendly and only a little bossy -well, to her anyway- maybe this ship special.

Cullen looked up when Ceto came over. He'd been watching the waves crash against the boat's hull. "Aye. She's a beauty." He said, meaning it, no less. "It'll definitely be interesting, working as a crew member. I don't have much of any experience on boats professionally." He'd been on plenty of boats for pleasure or travel, though. Ceto offered him a smoke and he held up a hand, palm outwards and fingers up. "No. Thank you though. I don't smoke, can't stand the smell." He drank, but that was about it. Other than that, he did no drugs and he had no real bad habits or addictions. "To be honest, I can't understand how anyone can."

((Yeah!

It hadn't occurred to me how out of place Cullen is...))

Edit:

((Aiee! Forgot Poppy! Don't shoot!))

Poppy grinned. "Keep up and I won't." She called. She walked up the pier and into the crowds of people on shore. Gracefully strutting down the boardwalk, she quickly found herself at a shop. She tugged her shirt lower to show more skin and pulled her arms closer together in front of her, clasping them. She leant over the counter to the shop and said, "Oh, why good day, sir. My dearest friend here, Rodrigo, requires some tools. Unfortunately for him, he doesn't speak a lick of Italian! You see, he a carpenter by trade, and well, you didn't ask for his life story." The gentkeman on the otherwise of the shop window was fairly young, and Poppy knew he was staring. "Anyways, could you show us a selection? That way we don't have to mess around wait this dirty translating business!" The shop keeper nodded and returned with an array if tools, apparently one of everything he had on hand. "Oh, Rodrigo! These look splendid! Which ones did you need?" She was pulling the ditzy, polite, noble woman act very well. It helped that she was pretty shameless.

[Cullen: *DARE officer*

Ceto: Oh God no-

Cullen: Just say no, kids!]

Ceto

Ceto glanced up at Cullen. "Really, now? You don't want a smoke? Too bad, you'll be smelling like a smoker and got lungs will be scorched with the same amount of smoke as well. Almost everyone smokes here. And drinks. Which means that someone's gonna have to pick up the weird looking vomit every so often." she laughed and leaned against the wall. "Next stop is Venice. Or England. Not sure where we're going."

Garrett

Garrett was a rosy color when he walked up to the counter to the man that had the tools. Poppy was acting weird, so he looked at the man and pointed out the tools he needed. "Um, is something wrong with your chest? Or your back? And your shirt is little too low..." he stated, frowning at her in a confused state.

((I dislike the practice a lot. Since Cullen was/is pretty much me, neither does he.))

I did DARE in elementary school... It was awful...))

"Oh... Wonderful." Cullen said. Maybe the air would be clear up in the crow's nest... "Oh. I actually know the trade routes to England. I just got off a ship coming from a port in England yesterday. I don't know Italian waters well but Venice is comparatively closer." He pulled out his flask abs tiok a deep swig. His whiskey wouldn't last long. Had to make it count.

Poppy took the crate of tools and shoved it into Garrett's arms and swiped his coin purse, paying and acting like they didn't have enough. The lie was bought and they took the discount. She walked away, dragging her compatriot with her. "Oh! Hah! You don't get it. Oh, you're fun." She giggled in English, just like a school girl.

"Garrett, m'boyo. Life is interesting." Her posture went back to the usual slight hunch and her voice returned to slang. She hiked up her shirt again and her stride picked up once more. "I'ma let you in on a secret. People don't like pirates. They also don't like assassins. They also don't like women mostly. I'm kinda all three. Store owners don't really respond to that combination well, so I become nobility, and they eat it up like tuna." She tapped her sword idly and looked over at Garrett. "Pulling m'shirt down was just one of the benefits of being the last on that list of three. Oh. And I called you Rodrigo because why would you give out your real name? We're thieves and murderers."

[i hate the practice too. My grandmother died of lung cancer because of smoking a few years back.

DARE was cool for me...]

Aelia's boots hit the cobblestone streets with satisfying clicks and clacks as she and her fellow assassin approached the ship. Her dark, cold radiance contrasted with Casio's bright one. It wasn't enough that they didn't like each other; the two individuals were complete opposites. Looking around suspiciously, the dark-haired woman spied the assassin she'd bumped into earlier, the one with the dreadlocks. She paced the upper deck, inspecting her cannons. It was obvious that she thought of them as hers. Looking back up at Casio, she sighed. "You're really going to send these people off to find the Pieces instead of going yourself? I'm surprised. Almost don't believe how humble this is. Did a woman turn you down or something?" She chuckled and looked at the sky, smelling the salty ocean air and thinking about how much she'd have to translate for that day and what she wanted for lunch.

Tessa muffled a cough as she walked through the lower deck. She told herself it was simply a head cold, that it would pass in a day or so and wouldn't affect much. As she walked, she heard the voice of Aelia sneering at Casio through the wood of the deck. She muffled a sneeze and headed up for the main deck, breaking into the moonlight like a thief. "Ahoy?" she said, walking to the group. "What brings you all back onto our lovely ship?" She asked, lowering into a curtsy.

Casio walked beside Aelia, narrowing his eyes at the salty smell. Oh, God, how he hated water. But he was master and he had to discuss with Ceto. In his fist was a bunch of wrinkled, sweaty papers. They were hints and clues he had gathered for the expedition to find the Pieces. "Har-dy harr harr." Casio growled over at Aelia, sweat already beginning to bead on his forehead and dripping down the back of his head. He hated water he hated water he hated water... "You know, you're very smug for a woman your age. What you need is a man to set you in your place." he barked in a high pitched voice. What many people didn't know was that Casio was hydrophobic. He hated any sort of water, and he once didn't bathe for two years. He did so because Aelia had to shove his ass into the river and force him to bathe. Suddenly, a woman called down from the ship. "Si. We need to speak to Ceto." he told Theresa, wary of her muffled cough. "Remind me to stay away from her.' he told Aelia. He did not want to get sick.

"We have important information for the captain. And you're...the first mate, right? I've heard stories. Please excuse my dear friend, but it would be preferable for us to talk...elsewhere..." Despite how mean or rude she seemed, Aelia cared about her comrades and did take Casio's fear into account. She knew there was nothing around it, really; nothing she could do about his paralyzing fear of the very thing that gave him life. At Casio's comment, she just snorted playfully and shoved him slightly. "Now, now. Let's not get catty," she whispered. Smiling up at Tessa, Aelia tilted her head slightly, winking. It was as if she was telling the woman to go along and fetch the captain, because neither would be entering the ship without a bit of resistance. While Aelia did not feel a particularly strong kinship with her fellow master, he was worlds closer to her than any of the pirates would ever be, so she supported him with vigor.

Cullen was up in the crow's nest. The last navigator had left a leather pouch strapped down in it with a telescope in it. He kept it on his person, now. He was just getting a sense of the view he was gonna be using to navigate. It was different. From shooting that is. When he drew his bow he saw the world the way it truly was. Everything became revealed to him. The littlest secrets a man could hold. The little mistakes in architecture or a craft. Where an arrow might penetrate and where it might cause non-lethal damage. Even the wind patterns. Sometimes he thought he went into Eagle sense by accident but he knew the distinct differences. He heard some people board the ship and speak with Theresa, who he hadn't met just yet, but had her name told to him. He peeked over the edge to see if he could hear what they were talking about. That was the man from when he arrived, and he'd brought a woman with him. He wondered if she was a master as well. He shrugged and climbed his way down the nets to the deck to see if anyone could use a hand.

"Ah. I'll go do that then. Cullen, escort our brother and sister here to the dock. Casio looks as though he's going to pass out." With a swish, Theresa headed for Ceto's cabin, stopping to knock on the door. "Ceto! Casio and another Master are here, and they seem to have a piece of paper with locations of Pieces of Eden upon it." She said, waiting for the other woman to come outside.

((I follow. I just don't understand why Cullen needs to escort them a few feet away...?

Maybe I'm over thinking this. But if they're on the boat and the boat is docked, can't they just... Walk alone?))

Cullen's eyebrows knotted up. He... The dock... It... Okay. "Aye." He said to Theresa. He walked over to Aelia and Casio and raised as arm toward the gangplank. "I... Uhm... And if you'll follow me, I'll take you down the gangplank to the dock." He led the way off the rocking boat to the dry dock. "I'm sorry. I think this is ridiculous. The dock is right here, but I suppose Theresa knows better than I do." The Irishman said, exasperated but not eager to displease the first mate on the ship he'd been on for most of a day.

[i'll post something quick. ^^]

Ceto wasn't in her cabin, however. She had snuck over to the Italian Creed, aiming to pick up something. "Aero," she leant against the doorway of the master's room, exposing her shoulder just a little bit to him. "Come here... I need some... Help..." She giggled suggestively. A few more steps and she would snag him.

"He has red hair." Casio gaped, his fear of water leaving him. "Look! He has red hair!" He repeated as if it wasn't obvious.
