Posted November 17, 2010 But what about the players who don't visit the forums? Or, like myself, who only visit the forums sporadically? Same way they find out about new egg releases, and holiday breeding times. Sure, some things are less obvious, like the new limits, and rare v rare breeding, but the biomes change should clue them in that something big is happening, and then they can head over here to find out. Posted November 17, 2010 As a new player I would be VERY unhappy with such a change. It is hard enough as it is to try and get hold of "goodies" - if eggs and hatchlings can be traded completely without restriction outside the AP, then newbies would have an even harder time "catching up" That's part of the joy of DC, you start it on your own, or get gifted stuff, these 'goodies' you should earn. Well it's hardly as if the people who don't use the forums will see a news message. I suppose TJ could make an announcement in the actual Cave, but I don't think he's ever done that before. Posted November 17, 2010 I'm hoping these really great changes don't give TJ more headaches... each time there is a change (and I REALLY like the upcoming ones...) made to the site, there seem to be a spate of crashes. Not sure if it is because of the heavier traffic as people flock back to their scrolls to either pick up new releases or try out their new BSAs, or because of the additional layer of code necessary to make the changes, or something completely different, there seems to be a time period in which TJ and the mods have to deal with some site instability. For all of these improvements that are being made to this game that we all love, we are going to have to tolerant and supportive of our administrators as they work out the kinks. This may include mysterious losses of dragons/egg/etc, site downtime, and other unpredictable side effects. Don't be in a hurry, folks. This stuff is going to take time to implement, and when it kicks in, things won't be perfect right away. Be patient! Share this post Link to post

I think a lot of people are expecting these to be perfectly coded when they are rolled out. Setting unrealistically high expectations will lead to a lot of complaining once kinks start popping up.
