Posted December 19, 2013 (edited) The 2013 Holiday Event is about building snow forts and throwing snowballs at each other. This thread is for discussing this game, what is already known about it, how to gain experience, etc. This thread is not for requests to send or receive snowballs. There are already some threads for that here (General Discussion -> Forum Games) and here (Dragon Cave -> Site Discussion). This thread may contain spoilers. If you want to discover the SNOW WARS game on your own, then you should probably stop reading now. This is not an "official" FAQ. It may contain errors. 25 new levels have been added on Dec 27. This message will be updated as more information is discovered about the game. How do I gain more snow? With a basic snow fort, you automatically get 1 unit of snow per hour. You do not have to do anything special to receive it: it will automatically be credited to you every hour. As you gain more experience and your fort levels up, the rate of accumulation will be increased so you will get more snow every hour. If you are inactive for more than three hours, the rate of accumulation will be halved until you are active again. How do I level up?As you gain more experience, your fort gains some levels. This allows you to gain more snow per hour and also unlocks new types of buildings. See the table below for details. How do I gain more experience? You gain experience by attacking other players or being attacked by them. If your snow fort is destroyed by the attacks, then you and your attackers will not gain experience anymore, until you repair your fort. If you throw the last snowball that destroys another player's fort, you gain a bonus of 2 exp (so you get 3 exp instead of 1 for loose snow). However, you do not get a bonus if the other player has a much lower level than yours (official statement from TJ09) Experience table Here is what is known so far about the different levels and what they unlock. 1 - 0 exp - 1 snow/hour - snow buildings 2 - 1 exp - 1 snow/hour 3 - 2 exp - 1 snow/hour 4 - 5 exp - 1 snow/hour 5 - 8 exp - 2 snow/hour - packed snow buildings 6 - 11 exp - 2 snow/hour 7 - 14 exp - 2 snow/hour 8 - 17 exp - 2 snow/hour 9 - 20 exp - 2 snow/hour 10 - 23 exp - 3 snow/hour 11 - 27 exp - 3 snow/hour 12 - 31 exp - 3 snow/hour 13 - 35 exp - 3 snow/hour 14 - 39 exp - 3 snow/hour 15 - 43 exp - 5 snow/hour - ice buildings - silver badge 16 - 48 exp - 5 snow/hour 17 - 53 exp - 5 snow/hour 18 - 58 exp - 5 snow/hour 19 - 63 exp - 5 snow/hour 20 - 68 exp - 7 snow/hour - large ice keep 21 - 74 exp - 7 snow/hour 22 - 80 exp - 7 snow/hour 23 - 86 exp - 7 snow/hour 24 - 92 exp - 7 snow/hour 25 - 98 exp - 9 snow/hour - decorations - gold badge - participation in the holiday raffle 26 - 105 exp - 9 snow/hour 27 - 112 exp - 9 snow/hour 28 - 119 exp - 9 snow/hour 29 - 126 exp - 9 snow/hour 30 - 133 exp - 9 snow/hour - log 31 - 141 exp - 9 snow/hour 32 - 149 exp - 9 snow/hour 33 - 157 exp - 9 snow/hour 34 - 165 exp - 9 snow/hour 35 - 173 exp - 11 snow/hour - dyed snow blocks 36 - 182 exp - 11 snow/hour 37 - 191 exp - 11 snow/hour 38 - 200 exp - 11 snow/hour 39 - 209 exp - 11 snow/hour 40 - 218 exp - 11 snow/hour - moat and spikes 41 - 228 exp - 11 snow/hour 42 - 238 exp - 11 snow/hour 43 - 248 exp - 11 snow/hour 44 - 258 exp - 11 snow/hour 45 - 268 exp - 11 snow/hour - ice blocks and candy cane fence 46 - 279 exp - 11 snow/hour 47 - 291 exp - 11 snow/hour 48 - 301 exp - 11 snow/hour 49 - 312 exp - 11 snow/hour 50 - 323 exp - 15 snow/hour - ice palace and decorations - new maximum level Once you reach the maximum level (25 50), you can still collect snow, attack other players and be attacked. But you will no longer have the "Exp. to next level" line, as there is no next level. It does not seem to be possible to gain more than 98 323 experience points. Repair costs Once your snow fort is damaged or completely destroyed, you can repair it. The more damage your fort takes, the more it will cost you to repair it, up to 10 units of snow. Once you reach the maximum cost of 10 units of snow, it does not matter if your fort takes additional damage or is completely destroyed: it will still cost 10 units of snow to repair it. Event badge The badge linking to this holiday event from your scroll is initially bronze. Once you reach level 15, the badge turns silver. Once you reach level 25, the badge turns gold. Bug: currently, the badge changes only if you reach level 15 or 25 by attacking someone, not by being attacked. This will be fixed before the end of the event. Posted December 19, 2013 (edited) Here is what is known so far about the different levels and what they unlock. I will try to improve the format of this message later... [*]1 - 0 exp - 1 snow/hour [*]2 - ? exp - 1 snow/hour [*]3 - ? exp - 1 snow/hour [*]4 - 5 exp - 1 snow/hour [*]5 - 8 exp - 2 snow/hour [*]6 - 11 exp - 2 snow/hour [*]7 - 14 exp - 2 snow/hour [*]8 - 17 exp - 2 snow/hour [*]9 - 20 exp - 2 snow/hour [*]10 - 23 exp - ? snow/hour [*]11 - 27 exp - 3 snow/hour [*]12 - 31 exp - 2 snow/hour [*]... 12-31 exp - 2 snow/hour? What? o.o NOTE: After every 5 levels, the rate of accumulation increases by 1. An exception is when you reach level 15, you'll receive 5 snow per hour. I don't know anything much after then. EDIT: Level 20 gets you 7 snow/hour. Edited December 19, 2013 by Evolette Share this post Link to post
Posted December 19, 2013 (edited) I'm at 10/24exp, and have 3 snow/hour. ETA I think the packed snow walls and archways are introduced at level 3, but I'm not sure... Edited December 19, 2013 by fuzzbucket Share this post Link to post
Posted December 19, 2013 Does anyone know if you can remove things from your fort? Tried dragging things off the grid, but that didn't work... Share this post Link to post
Posted December 19, 2013 Does anyone know if you can remove things from your fort? Tried dragging things off the grid, but that didn't work... Yes. Double click on the item you don't want. From the snow fort instructions: Your Fort Click and drag items to move them around. Double click an item to delete it (half of the snow cost will be refunded). Your changes will not be saved until you click the "Save Changes" button below. Share this post Link to post
Posted December 19, 2013 I'm sure you don't LOSE snow/hour at level 12.... Sorry for that copy/paste error. I updated the message and corrected this error. Share this post Link to post
Posted December 19, 2013 Yes. Double click on the item you don't want. From the snow fort instructions: Thanks. Missed that. I should really get in the habit of reading instructions. Share this post Link to post
Posted December 19, 2013 Couple of questions I was wondering if anyone knew the answer too: Has anyone tried throwing snow at their own fort? Does that work? Do you still get throw/hit experience? And do the 'higher damage' throwable things give more experience? So throwing loose snow gives you 1 exp, does packed snow give you 2? And does an icicle give you 4 or 5? Cheers Share this post Link to post

Posted December 19, 2013 (edited) I think level 20 is at around... 69 or 70 exp? And level 21 is 74 or 75? Argh. I should keep count. You need 58 exp to get to level 18, I'm sure of that. Edited December 19, 2013 by Evolette Share this post Link to post
Posted December 19, 2013 I'm spending so much time making my fort pretty but I don't get any experience from that The repair increased because it got down to 0 I think, I don't recall repair costs increasing because of the levels. Share this post Link to post
Posted December 19, 2013 (edited) Just a reminder about this thread: As this topic is not "official" but just opinions as far as the spoilers and information it may contain errors. I'll be adding that to the OP as well. ruby Edited December 19, 2013 by rubyshoes Share this post Link to post

Hi, Sarah. You get EXP from attacking/being attacked. Here are two topics for that: Snow-Ball Fight! SNOW WARS! Edited December 19, 2013 by Evolette Share this post Link to post
Posted December 19, 2013 Hi, Sarah. You get EXP from attacking/being attacked. Here are two topics for that: Snow-Ball Fight! SNOW WARS! Thanks but I knew that already, I'm just complaining because I want to use snow to make my fort pretty but at the same time I want a raffle ticket. Sorry for the confusion. Posted December 19, 2013 Thanks but I knew that already, I'm just complaining because I want to use snow to make my fort pretty but at the same time I want a raffle ticket. Sorry for the confusion. Yeah. I decided to have an "ugly" fort until I get highest level (whatever that is) and then I'll make it "pretty". Share this post Link to post
Posted December 19, 2013 (edited) Yeah. I decided to have an "ugly" fort until I get highest level (whatever that is) and then I'll make it "pretty". Same. Also, don't know if it has been shared yet, but I think completely destroying a structure gets you 3 exp. Can anyone confirm? I think I did that to a friend's fort. Someone else said that on the news thread so I guess that confirms it? I missed the memos on ugly forts and higher levels, that explains why people are reaching level 15 Share this post Link to post

I missed the memos on ugly forts and higher levels, that explains why people are reaching level 15 Could have been me, so until we know anyone else I'll call it a rumor. I'm really not sure whether that's what happened. Also, so close for level 17.. You need 53 exp for level 17. I'm still sitting on 52. Posted December 19, 2013 (edited) Tried hitting myself. You get 0 exp and 1 damage. Avoid at all costs. (My sacrifice has been for the common good! *dun dun dun*) Ninja'd by Fuzzbucket. WELL NOW YOU KNOW. You need 63 EXP for level 19. Edited December 19, 2013 by flitzthesoulreaper Share this post Link to post
Posted December 19, 2013 (edited) I believe the new snow time might be 55 minutes. I got my last few at 12:05 pm EST and got this batch at 1 pm EST instead of 1:05 pm. You get at every XX:00. It doesn't matter what time you got the last time. In the other thread someone posted that they had attacked their own fort, and said "DON'T do that." I don't know what happened; they didn't say.... I did that accidentally TWICE. You lose a snowball and gain nothing. D: EDIT: Also, I'm pretty sure that level 25 isn't the maximum. o.o I'm at level 20+ and still have a silver medal (got it at around level 17 or 18). P.S. Level 24 is gained at 90 EXP. Posted December 19, 2013 Thanks to those who posted the experience required to reach different levels. I will keep on updating the first post as time permits. Note: if you attack my fort, I will be able to level up and collect more statistics on my own. Hint, hint. Share this post Link to post
Posted December 19, 2013 (edited) Also, the most cost-effective items seem to be the packed snow and ice ones. With packed-snow walls doing the same job for the same cost as most of the ice ones. Best defensive and most cost-effectice structure (NOT wall) so far seems to be the Ice Keep. Also, the badge is still bronze at level 18. I need one more exp for 19 so I can't confirm, can anyone else? Edited December 19, 2013 by flitzthesoulreaper Share this post Link to post
Posted December 19, 2013 You indeed get 3 exp for destroying a fort completely, the message you get will be the following: You toss a loose snowball at [username]'s fort, dealing 1 damage. The fort is destroyed in the process. Share this post Link to post
