Posted March 21 i tried to post all day, but work just kept intruding. and then afterwards, i went over to the store to get some roast beef to see if Harvey would eat any thing....no such luck. he's not having the best recovery. the vet will call in the morning again, but one of us (probably me) will go back to the store and get some baby food to see if he'll eat that. Posted March 21 Hi all! Dad update incoming: He started his new chemo yesterday, had another dose today, and tomorrow, he'll have one more. He's actually eating! I'm pleased as punch about that! I'll see him Saturday, since we have a family friend's party that we're going to! I'm rather excited to see Mom, Dad, and the Matt (little brother). Posted March 22 Felines................... Do they know hard we work to ensure their comfort and happiness so they don't barf in our shoes or pee behind the telly? (I left out the scariest things they do........... Looking at you Puss ggrrff) And not only that, every day we try harder and harder to make them smile? 🙃 I have given myself a week to feel better. I'm still exhausted having to rest after doing things, even simple things.......... I was in the city and lifted my water bottle up for a swig and my arm was shaking so badly I couldn't take a drink........ And I keep dropping things. No strength. Running a temperature during a heat wave.... don't do it. I hate doctors but I'm going to have to get some edumacated advice. And my goldfish died. Not a mark on him. End of an era. Posted March 23 oh, also.... Harvey is doing better today. yesterday he went to the vet because he wasn't eating and looked very unhappy. he had a fever so they gave him an antibiotic, appetite stimulant, and set an appointment for today. as of that appointment, he still hadn't eaten, so he got another antibiotic and another appetite stimulant, and urgent care food. they said he didn't eat the pate, we could add warm water and make a slurry, put it in a syringe and force feed it to him. well, he started to eat the pate, but it looked like he was having trouble eating (swallowing, maybe? i mean, he just had mouth surgery, so....) after a few attempts at a start, we made said slurry, and decided to give that to him in the bowl, and he's finally eaten almost all of it, so yay! he has a medicine we can start tomorrow, as well as his pain meds finally.
