Posted August 9, 2019 So it's temporary. Ah well. Enjoy it while you can! Surprise. Surprise. The power is out... Share this post Link to post
Posted August 10, 2019 That was in today's newspaper. The head of the union at the power plant says it has gone beyond crisis and is now a catastrophe. You'd think in a country where the sun shines pretty much every day of the year we could switch to solar but no... those in government with their fingers in the oil pot make it impossible. Posted August 10, 2019 oh wow. but it's all about the money for the big companies, not what's best for the people, right? *sigh* 😠 Share this post Link to post
Posted August 10, 2019 It's always about money, isn't it... I hope things get better in there, Lagie. Share this post Link to post
Posted August 10, 2019 i know it's all about money with the idiots in charge in DC.... oops did i say that out loud? what's the policy on politics in this thread? Share this post Link to post
Posted August 10, 2019 Politics are fine. Everyone's entitled to support (or not) whom they wish. (But I have to confess I mistook DC for Dragon Cave at first...) Per the request of @trystan - Before: Hallway Art gallery Share this post Link to post
Posted August 10, 2019 hmm, true about DC, i probably should have said Washington DC ooh, now i really want to see the After pics! Share this post Link to post

Crazy, isn't it? Those new generators are massive and so far sitting idle. I'll just have to stay out of the shady areas then, Spirit! *sets out yoghurt and fruits* Last day before I go properly back to work till late November... Share this post Link to post
Posted August 12, 2019 Lagie, if there's new generators, why ARE they sitting idle? politics? so you're at work improperly? Share this post Link to post
Posted August 12, 2019 They imported them at the height of the rainy season. Rain and electricity... bad combo. The first two weeks there was so much rain they couldn't even move them from the dock to the power station (at 2 mph, an 8 - 9 hour endeavour). Well, I went in on Saturday, which was supposed to be ny vacation day, to do that tidying! Share this post Link to post
Posted August 12, 2019 ooh, true. and wow that's a LOT of rain! hmm, good point, working on a vacation day IS improper! Share this post Link to post
