Posted January 8, 2018 Spoiler I do wonder though if DJ is Rey's father. He's certainly self centered enough to abandon/sell a family member and his ticks could be down to alcohol abuse. Since he managed to get away scott free at the end of the movie I certainly wouldn't be surprised if he shows up again. I don't expect any happy reunions though. Share this post Link to post

Posted January 8, 2018 I don't think he lied, but I'm not convinced they know the truth. Spoiler If Rey's parents were the sort of addicts who would sell their own daughter for alcohol money, chances of them ending up dying broke long after are high. They probably only sold Rey as a last resort and after that ran out of anything of value (unless they sold their ship, but even the money from that wouldn't have lasted two alcoholics long). Posted January 8, 2018 I dunno. At the moment I feel rather sad for Kylo. He's a screwed up manchild with years of Snoke's abuse behind him, but I don't think he's a liar. However, he needs to start making better decisions. Though someone that demented as head of the First Order is going to be very interesting. Posted January 8, 2018 I'm not sure that Kylo giving himself amnesia will fix the problem. Spoiler I don't get why so many people are calling bull on Luke's behavior. He's had moments before where he's almost given into the dark side, like when he attacked the Emperor out of fear and anger and later his own father. Posted January 8, 2018 There were only two faults I had with the film... wait three. The first was the casino planet section, it just felt so out of place and was crammed full of boring CG aliens and unwanted political imagery, I'm sure there were better ways to show the dark side of war. The 3rd, too many endings. It felt like it was gonna end so many times! The 2nd Spoiler Luke dying... it felt like a complete cop out. We had been led to believe that he was back and buying time for his allies escape. You think he dies but then, holy he was projecting himself the whole time... and then he dies... they should've just had him go and die Obi-wan style fighting ren. Share this post Link to post

Posted January 8, 2018 I dunno. The casino and the escape from it were pretty important to Finn's character development. Spoiler As for Luke, I actually liked it. He didn't die fighting his nephew, but buying the Resistance time to escape. Kylo being tricked by an illusion also make him look like a pillock in front of his new army. Share this post Link to post

Posted January 8, 2018 Casino scene was stupid, there were better ways to develop finn. Releasing the giant llamas was useless, they're just gonna get captured again. Spoiler And yeah, ren being played for a fool in front of his army was cool, I still felt like luke dying was a major copout. Posted January 8, 2018 The meaning was fine, but the meaning should've been conveyed in a different way. It just felt so out of place. I watched star wars twice and the 2nd time I intentionally left the theatre during the casino scene, found my self enjoying the movie as a whole a lot more. Share this post Link to post
