Pokemon: Legends Revolt - OOC Thread

Recommended Posts

I used to do that, but then I got a new computer that rarely crashed... maybe I need to start doing that again as well.

@Ryu - I have chosen, although I did choose an odd one. I think it works though. The post will start being made here soon. Let's hope I can do better this time. Oh, and back to PM, still need to talk.

Upon Ryu's request, here is Melissa's NPC sheet.

~~~
Name: Melissa Camelia-Adelpha
Age: 13
Gender: Female
Appearance: Melissa stands at 4'10, conditioned by the wilderness to be quick, yet sturdy. She appears to be good at climbing trees judging by her strong arms and calloused palms. Her hazel eyes are always open and alert for movement in the grass. A straw hat hides most of her auburn hair with the exception of her explosive bangs parted into two halves (which vaguely reminds one of antennae). She doesn't really try to conceal her pigtails under the hat, but since her hair is cut manageably short, they often go unnoticed.
In a getup inspired by many bug enthusiasts (who were in turn inspired by safari-goers), Melissa sports an olive safari jacket with the sleeves rolled up that partially obscures her darker shorts. A vermilion sash is tied at her waist in place of a belt, secured with a small bow in the back that vaguely looks like a butterfly. A pair of dark green hiking boots and a satchel slung across her shoulder complete the look of a rugged explorer.
Her pokeballs and pocket knife are hooked onto the belt holding her shorts up, which can be found by lifting the edge of her jacket.
Personality: While a gifted battler with the potential to challenge the League, that was not the path she chose, since it was just "boring", in her opinion. Instead, she chose to go on a different kind of Pokemon Master quest. In order to achieve her goal to catch'em all, Melissa is either constantly exploring, constantly studying, or constantly training. She is fiercely independent -- even if her brother did offer to accompany her, she would have rejected the offer. She might seem distant and secretive, though she is just somewhat awkward at interacting with people in general because she would rather work alone.
Her tactics, both in battle and capture, are a result of careful research and planning. She easily gets upset when her throughly thought-out plans are accidentally sabotaged by other people.
Affiliation: Melissa has made it her firm goal to capture every single discovered pokemon, and maybe some others. Known as a capture artist, she is firmly knowledgeable about pokemon habits and habitats.
History: Melissa could not stand Floaroma Town. It was the same flowers every day. Every since she was young, she itched to go out and explore the fields around town, and on several occasions, attempted to enter the Valley Windworks, much to the distress of her brother. Since he was so overprotective, she would often shut herself in her room in protest, studying the world instead of experiencing it. Her pokemon at the time were a pair of Wurmple caught near the town, who evolved astonishingly quickly into Dustox and Beautifly. (She theorizes it was because they curb-stomped Florent's Roselia and Cherubi on a daily basis. And maybe that was why he is nervous around bugs.)
Steadily, she built her team during her journey around Sinnoh, most of them species native to the region. Unlike everyone else, Melissa wanted to follow in the footsteps of pokemon researchers and vowed to not rest until she catalogued every discovered pokemon including ones who were just seen as rumors, even if it meant travelling to another region entirely. That was why she was so drawn to Broskii, other than the diversity -- it's the legend sightings.
Pokemon: It's a secret~! But I'll give you a hint: Melissa is a practical person, and therefore she should have practical pokemon tailored to her goals. (Keep your guesses to yourself!)
[Think I'll just keep the same general history as Merek from our last adventures Ryu.]
Name: Emilia Mason
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Appearance: Emilia is a decent 4'9 in height with long blue dyed hair and a rather weaker physical frame from little exercise save walking around the ranch. Most of the time she has on tan colored shorts since they're "Comfy and easy to wear" or so said the label when she bought them. Above that is usually a plain colored T-shirt and her favorite green zipped hoodie that has the outline of an ultraball on the back.
Personality: Emilia can be a rather quiet individual outside of the battle field where she likes to show off knowledge she has gained from watching and studying pokemon battles. Though she doesn't like to show off her smarts off the field she has been known to inappropriately correct people if they say something slightly wrong or talking about random trivia. Once she realizes her mistake however her face turns red in embarrassment and her voice cuts out completely. Emilia likes to give people the benefit of the doubt unless she knows they are dishonest or act shifty. Otherwise she is a friendly and kind person as long as you return the same courtesy.
Affiliation: Researcher/Trainer
History: Being the daughter of a distinguished Pokemon researcher has its benefits like living in almost every region if only for a few years. The moving never bothered her much as her goal is the same as her father's, to study and discover new things about the world and pokemon that inhabit it. Currently the two live on the lab/ranch her father had bought when they moved to the Broskii region. This place has become the most dear thing to her heart as she spends numerous amounts of time studying the pokemon on and around its facilities. Though unfortunately the vast amounts of data her father has collected never went unnoticed attracting attention from both the community and teams that sought great power. When she was quite young a gang of uniformed men came to her fathers lab, back when they lived in Kanto, looking for strange and powerful pokemon. Enraged by the fact her father wouldn't give them what they wanted the group tore down their house with the strong pokemon they had managed to obtained. However this didn't kill her love for pokemon, even giant ones, it did make her more cautious of older people and gave her the three reminding scars lines on her left arm that show there are no bad pokemon, only bad people who use them.
Starter Choice: Vulpix for sure but other then that choice randomize away. I like new challenges and there are no bad pokemon only ones you have to work harder to master.
Password: tortillas
RP EXAMPLE: Didn't feel like i RP'd too bad last time so we'll go there. [X]
@Lightdragon - Sounds good to me. Accepted! Now, you have to know that we are in the verge of starting the first event, a Tournament and you can enter it if you want, but I need to know one thing first: would you like to start RPing from the beggining, you know, getting your first pokemon at the lab and then moving on to the next town, Pring Town? Or would you prefer to start at Pring Town already with a team of 2 pokemon, your starter (you'd choose this one from the options I'll provide) + 1 random pokemon I'll give you?
Hmm, well i would like to start en route to Pring town and not just be there. How about we say Emilia's father needed a package delivered to Pring town and since she would be headed that way he thought she could take it for him. Knowing full well the package might slow her down she agreed and compensated for this by heading out earlier than the other kids. However after she obtained her first Pokemon and set out for route 1 the forest and its wild Pokemon got the best of her curiosity and she lost track of the time. I'll let this put her maybe a half an hour or so behind the main group and let her arrive just before the tournament sign-ups end. I don't think everyone is at Pring yet? And I should be able to catch at lest my second Pokemon by then.
@Bearded - Lol don't worry, I cna understand, Zelda games can be very addictive, specially Ocarina of Time... ah good times rolleyes.gif
@Lightdragon - Alright then, sounds good. Although I have to mention the sign up end the day ebfore the tournament so once everyone has arrived at Pring Town, we'll move on to the next day to start the event.
Here are your starter choices:
Wooper
Vulpix
Ducklett
Once you've chosen a pokemon, go to the IC Thread and begin RPing.
Yep, I already have the Gym Leaders set. However I've been thinking on making some canon Gym leaders appear, of course they'd be older than they appear in the anime and games, and would most likely appear as part of events or plot important stuff.
Ok, so I think I'm back. Hopefully. Unless something comes up... but that's falling under the "normal DH disappearing" category and should only last a day or so...
so....
what happened? I'll try and read up once I find the page I last posted on.
Though, I'm really sorry for leaving you all.... I don't like doing that. Being grounded and stressed out are not good combinations though :/
You didn't miss much, really. We haven't started the tournament. Everybody's just getting ready in the next town. Dana and Larien made it to Pring Town, and Dana got challenged to a practice battle by Florent. Larien is healing her pokemon in the Pokemon Center (which is still stinky because of someone's pokemon tongue.gif ).
And like I said in the IC, you can take control of the Venipede again, if you want.
@DH - Welcome back. And yeah, you did't missed much, we hadn't advanced that much this week xd.png But I had your character go with Dana to the pokemon center, she's having her pokemon healed right now, you can have her pokemon back when you post again.
@TUM - Thanks for takin control of the Venipede while DH was gone, I appreciate that. Also, we are using the XY dex for moves, so yeah, your mInccino would know Baby Doll Eyes instead of Growl.
I know pokemon isn't exactly realistic, but I'm having a hard time imagining a level 10 rollout ramming through three trees even at full power. Just a peeve of mine how Nick is blasting through training.
Yeah, especially since it has 30 power on the first turn. As in, less than Tackle.
*whistles* don't mind me... I'm jsut gonna throw larien in somewhere... and does the Venipede still need played? I'll finish him up if needed.
Yeah, I've seen nick has a tendency to overpower his pokemon, that's wahy I did what I did with Shroomish's battle a while ago. I have to warn you nick, you have to really stop that, as you can see, it is not well seen by anyone, plus it is against the rules. Try to keep it as realisitc as possible, just take a look at my current battle, even when the wild Venipede has been using Rollout for sometime it hasn't destroyed any tree, so, keep that in mind when editing your post and for the future when you use that move.
@DH - Yes it does, and please do, I want to catch it biggrin.gif
Ryu, Since double team is four levels ahead of wing-attack, would it be too soon to have wing-wings learn it? also, I need advice, would it be smarter to have Tanaka learn her next move first, or to get wing-wings four moves?
Share this post
I have no idea who Tanaka is blink.gif But, if you're talking about the Zigzagoon you just caught (I assume you are) then I guess it would be best to have her learn a new move, after all, her only damaging move is Tackle so, in my opinion, it would be best to have her learn another move before adding another one to your other pokemon.
Also, Everyone, I'd like to annouce that as soon as my character arrives at Pring Town, we'll time skip to the next day to start the tournament. Don't worry, I won't be rude and interfere with wahtever your doing, I'll wait for any battles, event or other stuff you're doing to finish before moving on the the next day. I only announce this so you keep it in mind and don't request for another event until then.
I agree. It might be better for Tanaka to learn another move, just like how on a regular playthrough you try to keep your whole team on the same level.
I was going to call upon another event to attempt to try for an item after this battle. I don't know if we'll have time for one after the grand timeskip to the next day (time to camp out!).
You can try for an event if there is still people that haven't got to Pring Town yet. And since you have already gotten to the town, you don't have to camp outside, you can either stay at the Pokemon Center, or go hunt around the town for an Inn, know I haven't specified there are inns, hotels, etc, but keep in mind they are cities and towns apart by long distances so it is normal you find those around. And unless I specify otherwise, you can always find inns and hotels at Towns and Cities, plus the Pokemon Centers are allways with open rooms for traveling trainers.
