Mingo Madness Massbreeding Weekend for International Flamingo Day!

Flamingo dragons can get a bad rap, so I thought that maybe we could celebrate these pink funny friends by having weekend dedicated to them. That is why I am proposing a Mingo Madness Massbreeding Week for International Flamingo Day!

 

From April 26th-28th lets breed mingos to the ap and create the biggest pink wall yet! But we can’t stop there. Not only should we breed mingos, we should collect them, and encourage others to collect these wonderful dragons. We can post about how many mingos we bred, and how many we’ve collected.

 

International Flamingo Day (April 26th) was started by the IUCN Flamingo Specialist Group to increase awareness about real world flamingos. Did you know that there are 6 flamingo species, and that 2 of them are near threatened, and 1 is vulnerable? I think it would be in the spirit of Flamingo Week to also brush up on your mingo lore and/or donate to the IUCN or other conversation efforts. This is by no means required, but I would feel bad not talking about real world Mingos at all since the holiday was made for them. So during Mingo Madness Week, lets share Mingo facts we discover as well!

 

But what now? Mingo week is months away! However there is still lots we can do. In the meantime, collect mingos to get ready for the massbreed. Spread the word about the upcoming event to your Dragon Cave friends. Show your support for this event by posting below! You can also use this banner in your signature. It was made by my friend Hazgarn, who I ambushed as she just finished Nanowrimo, who doesn't play Dragon Cave.

Please no. A day - if you must. But a week-long wall is far far too long.

I like this idea! I'll have to start collecting celestials to make the flamingos I have count. Personally, I don't see much of a problem with a full week of breeding. Looking forward to Mingo Madness Week!

(TBH a week of breeding is probably going to spread the eggs out more, so we might get one or two smaller walls with other Flamingos here and there, rather than one massive wall. I'll be busy in April so it's nice to have more time to get through my hoard 😆)

If anyone needs help acquiring Flamingos, I've bred another batch of (mostly) PBs to the AP - the earliest eggs are currently at 5d8h, but who knows when they'll hit...?

PBs are the best as they will not be able to be influenced when they show in the AP. I will grab some when they come thru.

I'm in! Although I do think a single day is plenty if we're only going to do one breed.

Btw, to those unfamiliar with how awesome flamingos are: Tough Birds, Fragile Homes they are extromophiles! Aka creatures that can thrive in circumstances not many other beings can even survive in! Pretty cool, exp if you consider their reputation and the fact that they're not tardigrades or highly armoured worms but instead silly pink birdies on stilts.

 

Also, here's a 2g purebred for the folks who want to participate but don't have any mingos of their own 😁

Yeah I'm def hoping for a wall. I just want to do what works best for everyone, and might have gotten a bit overenthusiastic with the whole week. the 26th is a friday, so maybe a Mingo Madness Weekend if we go for the shorter time frame?

I'd love a ping for when breeding starts. I don't think we need to worry about AP times getting too low to influence, even if we do all week, since its only 1 breed.

I would prefer a weekend event to a week-long event; I don't know if I can handle a whole week of just flamingos on the AP. I only have one flamingo to my name but if I get more before the event and it's just for a weekend I could participate.

Took the one above, here's another 2G for you or for whoever would like it  I do have another CB pair ready to go, the rest... well, you'll see their kids in the AP before long, I think.
