As soon as the red haired boy said that magic was real, a ripple seemed to take place as the ward lifted. The people wandering around nearby suddenly melted away to their true forms, including the boy he was talking to. Both men looked around smoothly then back at each other. This defiantly was the place. The man in the maroon tie raised an eyebrow at Jean's fiery attitude. She seemed to be devolving into aggression as the cat spoke, "Is there a problem, Miss?", he asked and the man with the pink tie looked down at Psi, "Who is this Non-magician"

Skinner appeared from inside the house a few moments later and looked around. His eyes fell on jean and Psi talking to two men in suits. Everyone knew men in suits meant business. He cut across the yard and came up behind Psi and Jean, "Hey guys", he said causally, placing his cigarret holder in his mouth, "Who are your friends?"

"I don't even have a home!" Psi barked back, not understanding Jean's actions at all. She was irritating him too much with her lies. He didn't even know her! Looking back at the men in suits, he sniffed the air and looked around. Ah! "Right here!" He declared, quickly bounding over to Skinner's side and pointing up at him. There was no question who he was referencing. "This guy! He helped me drain my flux into this crystal!" He wagged his tail for emphasis, showing off the glowing purple crystal.

Jean threw her hands up in exasperation. Forget it. Blurt out all the Government secrets while you're at it too. She glared at the men distrustfully. Old pervs. She mumbled as she walked towards Psi.

The angel rolled her eyes. Psi had totally blown Jean's elaborate lie. And she had to admit, it was pretty good for on the spot improv. But her curiosity still remained. Why were they here? She tried to look into their thoughts, but found with disappointment, she could not. What's this? Even though she was an angel, her telepathy could still be blocked, if one used the right materials. But one could not prevent a look into their soul.

Arata walked to the front of the yard to find Miyako until noticing the commotion with a few people."What is happening here?"He muttered and started walking.

The man with the pink tie nodded thoughtfully when Psi told them how Skinner had helped him, "We know. It broke our XM Detector", he said with a feint smile. The cat was nice. Much nicer than the redhead girl. All she wanted to do was obstruct them and make futile stabs at them.

Skinner looked down at Psi as he told the men how he helped him with his flux problem. Skinner smiled, "Yep", he said, stepping forward to shake the men's hands, "I'm Skinner. Can I help you gentlemen with something?"

The men nodded in unison and the man with the maroon tie spoke first, "Yes, we are looking for the host of this party. Do you happen to know where he or she is?" They already knew who owned this manor, they have Google after all as well as a database of local residents. They figured a polite approach would be the best for their special situation

Skinner nodded, "Yeah I'll get him", he said, turning around, "HEY! WOLF-BOY! POTENTIAL PROBLEM!", he yelled at the woods on the edge of their property. He wasn't sure but he assumed that Lycoris was still romping in the woods with Raven. While they waited for him to show himself, Skinner huddled with Jean and Psi, "So what's the deal with these guys?", he whispered, knowing that Jean and Psi were the first to speak with them, "What did they tell you. Any idea why they are here?" He was getting a strange feeling from these men in suits. They wore no form of identification. No badge. No emblem. No name tags. They seemed human enough. Not that told him anything, Skinner was completely human after all. Everyone at this party had secrets. Skinner hoped that these two's weren't deadly.

Raven's ears perked. Was that... Skinner? Someone's calling you. Not one for matters, she had already shifted and charged into the forest, emerging in the small clearing with Skinner, Jean, and the cat thing on one side, and two men on the other. She could also smell Rain, but the wolf assumed she was lurking nearby, taking in the fact she wasn't visible. Who are these guys? Raven grew rigid. Her brain was trying to tell her something. The wolf locked up, burying herself in her thoughts. What was it about these two men that tripped her defense mode?

It came with a rush, which also drove her to charge the nearest man. The wolf sailed into the air, making beeline for the man. They had been the ones at the carnival. Retracing her steps and going through the tangle of scents from earlier, she picked it up, ever so faint. At least, they shared similar enough scents that it sent her into a fury.

Oh dear. Raven had shown up. Now she had to be ready. As expected, the wolf gauged for attack. Rain sprung forward, her wings snapping back and shooting her forward. She hit Raven, hard, in the her torso; the air left her body with a soft woosh. Now Rain had to be even quicker, making sure to avoid Raven's deadly accurate bite, which was just as quick. The angel didn't blame her. Her own first instinct is usually to lash out at her assailant.

So, she used her knee to pin her head to the ground. Then, with her other knee, she pinned the wolf's torso down. She could feel the wolf's muscles bunching under the dark fur. However, they weren't going to win out over Rain's superhuman strength. Boy was Raven angry. She snarled, and tried to still snap at Rain, drooling profusely. Calm yourself, Raven. It's me. The struggling slowed, but Raven still wanted to eat the men. Carry on, I got her.

Jean was disappointed. She'd totally been rooting for the wolf to take out the two guys. Then the girl from earlier takled her out of the air. Lame. You're really going to help these... men? Jean, did not like them, one bit. I know I've expressed myself pretty colorfully already, but these guys scream creepy molester guys.

(((Damn. You did exactly what I wanted you to do but you fixed it))

The man with the maroon tie backpedaled when a black wolf came tearing from the trees. All he saw was a flash of teeth as well as his life. His partner, however, reached into his jacket to prepared for the worst.

Skinner was in the process of raising his cigarette holder to stop the man with the pink tie from doing whatever he was planning. Everyone stopped when Rain swooped in and plucked the wolf from the air before she could do any damage. That pink tie dude was still looking awfully tense. His hand was frozen in his jacket. Skinner's hand twitched. refrigero! No. That's stupid. censorkip.gif my Latin is bad. Uhh... He couldn't think of a word that would work in this situation. His thoughts were interrupted when Rain told him to go on. She could handle this. Skinner popped his holder back in his mouth and relaxed.

The man with the pink tie relaxed in response. His partner walked back up, ruffled but still collected, he dusted the front of his jacket free of non existent dirt. He did not regain his professional posture. He looked at the group in disbelief, "Come on guys. Don't you have some kinda rule about fighting at these parties?" he asked.

Yeah, not to. Learned that one the hard way. Raven went limp beneath her. About time. She peeled away from her hesitantly. Raven wasn't exactly predictable.

The wolf waited a few seconds. Rain let up, just as she'd planned. Now that she knew that she was here, she could avoid her. Nothing was going to prevent her from getting to that man. Rain still hovered, but that wouldn't be much of a problem. The wolf snapped up, and lunged for his torso before Rain could react.

(( xd.png This was my plan anyway. To show Rain up. ))

"No!" was all Skinner could manage to say when he caught movement in the wolf laying on the ground. Something about these guys were setting Raven off. Skinner maybe have been a man of science but he also withheld to volumes of superstitions. Many of those beliefs had to do with the instincts of animals. Skinner aimed his cigarette at the man with the pink tie. They would take them both down at the same time.

The man with the rust tie was ready this time, His hand shot into his jacket to draw his gun. He never managed to touch the grip of the pistol. His speed was no match for the wolf's. His partner moved to intercept the beast before he could rip the other man's throat out.

No one made it in time.

There was a flash of movement and Raven seemed to be plucked out of the air by a phantom. A girl slid to a stop a few feet away, Raven was secured under her arm like a football. A sight that was made more unreal by the size of the wolf and the girl. She puffed a loose lock of dark brown hair from in front of her face and glared at the wolf, "Bad dog", she scolded the squirming wolf, "No attacking the Dads".

Raven snarled and snapped at the girl. What the hell is with you people?! She struggled angrily in the girl's grip. And I am most certainly not a dog! That pissed her off even more, further fueling her rage.

Rain laughed at Raven. Serves you right. You can't go around attacking every person that smells like a lab, Raven. Jesus. The angel rose to her feet and brushed herself off. As she caught sight of the phantom girl, she paused. Let me know if you ever need help crossing over? And... Watch your fingers, she bites. She might even have rabies.

Hey! I do not!

With that, she joined Skinner's side. Well that was interesting. Still don't trust them. Despite Raven's appearant reason of attack, I think she was right about something. These guys are... Off. Right? Of course, any person coming to a magical party, and not even blinking at the sight of the strange crowd, was in itself weird.

Jean really admired that dog. Wolf. Talking wolf. It was vicious and persistant. Wait, Dads?.... What are you people doing here? Her skin sparked with flame.

It was Psi's turn to speak up at this point as his eyes lit up with glee. They looked like humans. But they had practically summoned a specter from nowhere! That meant... "Are you magicians?!" He asked, his mouth twisting into a happy smile. Sure Skinner had helped him but a magician was what he really needed. His tail began to loudly thump against the ground, the crystal it was holding clattering around. He didn't really notice that much as he slid closer to the two men and sat down in front of them expectantly. He didn't seem to notice anyone else at the moment but was more fixated on his original goal of finding a magician.

(((that was a metaphor. She isn't actually a ghost)))

"ELF! I thought we told you to wait in the car until we get done here", the man with the pink tie scolded the girl, acting as if the talking wolf struggling in her arms was a everyday occurrence. The girl rolled her eyes at the two men, "Yeah yeah. It's a good thing I didn't listen, huh?", she said, shaking the wolf a bit, "Or this little beauty would have killed you both".

The man with the red tie ignored Elf's joke and looked to the group, "Please. No one attack her", he warned, "She is the reason we are here. This is Elfte. She is our....daughter."

Elf smiled brightly, "Yep. More or less", she said happily, 'And this is Mr. Pink and Mr. Maroon. They have names but they would have to kill you if I told you." She looked at the wolf and stroked her head once, unsure what to do with the beast, "Now if I put you down, do you promise not to try to eat my dads?" she asked

Skinner didn't know what to think after what just happened. He was ready to blow them away, even if it meant being ejected from the party. After finding out that these two men were responsible with that fearless girl, he would have beat himself up for months if he would have killed or injured one of them. Skinner nodded his head, "Yeah, something is definitely off about them. Less now that they explained themselves but still something." Skinner looked at Jean when she spoke, "Cool it Jean", he said soothingly, "I don't think these guys want to hurt us." He didn't believe his own lie. The truth was he had no idea what to expect anymore.

Mr. Pink looked down at the cat that had asked them if they were magicians, "What? No.", he said finitely, "we're human". Maroon looked at Jean as she demanded to know who they were, 'Well thats a hard question. We have already told you everything we are allowed to tell", he paused, "This is Blackwing Manor, right? The place where all the non-humans meet to socialize?"

(( xd.png Oops. That makes more sense.))

Raven snorted. No. She had stopped fighting though, secretly enjoying Elf's attention.

Rain nodded, now quietly observing the situation. She maneuvered around Skinner to Jean, resting a hand unflinching on her molten hot skin. It's fine, why don't you head back to the party? The girl's anger ebbed away, and she backed up, slowly returning to the house. Little persuasiveness goes a long way. Now that left Raven, Elf, the 'Dads', Skinner, and Psi.

Elf chuckled and gently set the wolf back onto her own four paws. She moved to stand closer to her guardians. She still put herself between her dads and the wolf. IF she was willing to play possum once, she might do it again. Pink cleared his throat, "anyway, Elf is new to the area and figured tonight would be a perfect chance to meet some people before she went to school tomorrow", he explained, "As well as get our own party on", Maroon said, taking a sip from a flask. The two men watched as Jean left to rejoin the party inside.

Skinner was still skeptical of the two, "Ok let me get this straight. You two are government agents assigned to take care of a teenage girl. I was under the impression that you only wanted to chain us up and poke us with needles."

The two men looked at each other before breakng out into a fit of laughter, "No no kiddo. We don't want to do anything like that. We just want to make sure that nothing happened to Elf"

"Yep. I'm a class 5 classification. All of you could be shot just for talking to me", she said, 'Good thing you're all on our side." She loved to throw around her FBI dad setup. She would never use it to her advantage, she has just always found her situation funny

Skinner shrugged, "Well if you haven't shot anyone yet you're cool in my book", he said, "Can we get back to the party? I haven't had anything to drink all night"

Raven lurked by Elf, but made no advances to attack. In fact, her tail waved back and forth happily. I'd be happy to introduce her to the people I know?

Rain smiled. Her instincts had been wrong after all, which, is a rare occurrence. But even she wasn't perfect. Hell yeah, let's go. She headed back towards the house, Jean jut a little further up ahead.

(((Sorry I kinda threw in new characters without sheets. They kinda just...started existing in my head)))

Elf looked back at Maroon and Pink questionably. Maroon shrugged and looked at Pink, who nodded conformation that she could go with the others. Elf made a happy girly sound and looked back at Raven, "Alright wolf chick. Lead the way". Pink and Maroon would be close behind, splitting up to watch for any kind of danger. Before Skinner vanished, off with Rain and Jean, Maroon caught up with him, "Hey, Skinner right? Anyway, you strike me as a herbal individual," he said, producing a rolled joint from inside his jacket, "Just don't let any real cops catch you with it."

Skinner was unsure what to say when a joint was offered. So he said thanks and tucked it away behind his ear. His hair hid it pretty well, not like anyone at the party would care. He would have to remember to share it later. Skinner nodded to the men in suits, his attitude on the two dramatically changed, and turned to catch up with Rain.

Rain frowned, watching the interaction between Maroon and Skinner, but she wasn't going to narc. However, she was also wasn't going to partake in it. Her own personal belief was that they were disgusting. Smoking, cigars, and ect. While she'd advise most of this, Rain knew Skinner knew. And from what she'd heard, it didn't cause too much harm.

Raven shifted, and tossed her hair over her shoulders. Alrighty. Let's go then. The shifter tugged Elf along towards the group.

Skinner caught up with Rain, "Sorry. He wanted to play drug dealer", he said casually, Blowing out a smoke ring of marshmallow scented smoke from his cigarette, "So what do you guys feel like doing

Elf looked back at her dads, finding that Mr. Pink had already vanished and Maroon was heading into the house. She shook her head and prepared for a game of, "Where is my guardian spying on me now?". It was kinda like Where's Waldo. She looked around at all the strange people at the party. A few couples were slipping away into the forest and she could have sworn that she saw one or two passed out/dead. She looked at the wolf that was escorting her and was surprised to see that she was no longer a wolf, "Woah, hold the phone. You're a shifter?", Elf asked. She had never met a shifter before. Well, she had never met anyone that wasn't human.

While I like the food, I've never been much for parties.

I can't get drunk. At least, not the last time I tried. She ran her fingers through her hair. And I've heard when you're drunk everything gets more fun. The angel laughed self-consciously. Sometimes, she envied humans. Other times, and loved being an angel and wouldn't change it for the world.

Raven nodded. Well... Yeah. Her eyes narrowed in suspicion. Why? Jaded Raven, the usual.

((I think I got Lycoric. I'll drag him along and such.

Skinner grinned evilly and pulled a small silver flash from the inside of his jacket, "Then it's a good thing I brought this", he said, shaking the flask gently in front of her between two fingers, 'Swiped it from my dad's room before we left." He replaced the flask back in his jacket and looped his arm through her elbow. He lead her inside the house to join the party.

Elf looked her over, "Well for one. Where did your cloths come from?", she asked. She had never seen a shifter of course but it didn't make logical sense that someone would change shape with their clothing. Unless there was some ethereal forces were at work.

Well, I'm not exactly sure. I could never figure it out, and the scientists could never explain it. If I had to guess, I'd say they become part of the fur. If I don't wear clothes, I've noticed that my fur seems thinner. Or maybe, it's some sort of magic. The girl shrugged. I rarely stop to think about it. Raven assumed Lycoris had headed inside to tell his parents about the guests. It only made sense he'd do so.

((The question I still to this day work on to find an answer that I didn't pull from my butt. xd.png ))

She smiled once inside. What's in that? The angel snagged a martini from a platter being carried around by a waiter. She downed it, then handed it to another passerby's hand. It burned her throat, and stung her eyes. Well, she wasn't a martini girl, that's for sure.

Skinner patted her arm and chuckled, "Oh, it's a little something my dad uses for spiritual heightening. It's for special group rituals and Tuesday nights with guests", he said, patting the flask through the fabric of his coat, 'It's basically wizard absinth my dad makes. Wanna try it?" He guessed that since it was basically DMT mixed with a special wine, it would effect anything. His dad told him that a session with that knocked out a druid, a frost giant, and a sphinx. Odds were that if he dumped the bottle into the punch, everyone in this party would freak the censorkip.gif out in a hurry.

Rain looked hesitantly at it. Maybe later... She saw a game being played with a table and red plastic cups. One person would bounce a white ball on the table, or toss it, trying to get it into the cup. What's that?
