Welcome back for another round of the DC Photography contest, come and show us what you've got! 

 

This time, the theme is:

 

Farm Life

 

As always, you don't have to take a new picture for this contest! Give the topic some lateral thought and surprise us with your ingenuity!

 

Submission deadline: Saturday 17 February at 12 noon EST

 

Voting deadline:  Saturday, 24 February at 12 noon EST

Rules:

 

- One entry per person.

- A photograph is defined as an image made using a camera or phone camera.

- Screenshots are not allowed.

- Picture has to be made by yourself and can't be just a reproduction of someone's work. If someone else's work is in the picture, there needs to be something extra.

- No manipulation besides basic photo adjustments (contrast, exposure, cropping, color balance, lighting, etc.).

- No text or framing in the photo. A signature/watermark is just fine, but it's preferable if you don't have "O Hai Eye Hav3 T3XT" (or something similar) present in the photo.

- When voting, please don't select your own image. This will ensure fairness.

- You are free to submit an old photo; you don't need to take a new one just for this competition.

- Winner hosts the next contest.

- Hosts may re-use previous themes that have not been used in the last 10 contests.

Tractors are used constantly on the farm that surrounds us, not least just to keep things going and keep an eye on the sheep.

@LadyMadonna Your goldfinches are so cute and colorful! The one in my picture is male, the females are more olive/brown, but still pretty.

Thanks for all the entries so far.  I've been trying to drum up a bit more support for this thread.  Time will tell if it works.

 

Regarding the theme that I've chosen, I thought it was suitably nebulous so as to encourage entrants to think outside the box, as well as within.  If, like Chaos Rider, you're unsure if something you submit follows the brief, why not explain why you think it fits?  Maybe that insight into your thoughts will swing opinion.  Of course, at the end of the day, it will be down to the voters whether they like your image over somebody else's.

I am a bit late, but I am one of the persons LadyMadonna tried to recruit for this thread. Lots of great pictures so far!
