Welcome back for another round of the DC Photography contest, come and show us what you've got! 

 

This time, the theme is: Collections

Let's see what you collect! (Or a cool collection you've seen somewhere, it doesn't have to be yours!)

 

Submission deadline: August 7th

 

Voting deadline: August 21st

Rules:

- One entry per person.

- A photograph is defined as an image made using a camera or phone camera.

- Screenshots are not allowed.

- Picture has to be made by yourself and can't be just a reproduction of someone's work. If someone else's work is in the picture, there needs to be something extra.

- No manipulation besides basic photo adjustments (contrast, exposure, cropping, color balance, lighting, etc.).

- No text or framing in the photo. A signature/watermark is just fine, but it's preferable if you don't have "O Hai Eye Hav3 T3XT" (or something similar) present in the photo.

- When voting, please don't select your own image. This will ensure fairness.

- You are free to submit an old photo; you don't need to take a new one just for this competition.

- Winner hosts the next contest.

- Hosts may re-use previous themes that have not been used in the last 10 contests.

Whew. Just made it!

I really had hoped to do my LEGO but so much of it is stored in closed boxes that you can't really see it's a collection.

Poll is up! I'm going to have a hard time choosing a favorite.

 

I love seeing what everyone collects! I have a similar collection of embroidery floss (in those same boxes, of course!), and I have a printing tray just waiting to be hung up and filled with small treasures.

 

Also just a note, I added the guideline we discussed a few posts back, about hosts re-using previous topics, to the list of rules. I know not everyone thought 10 topics was long enough, but I thought it was a good starting point and obviously someone can tweak it later if we find things are getting repetitive. I just thought having it in the main post would be convenient (I need stuff written down, for sure!)

My dad used to make stuff like that when I was a kid but we had the k'nex one not the lego. I miss that

This is cool! Someone should start up a Lego thread (or is there one already?). I need to get some pictures of the kits my husband has built recently. And I've got a big Jurassic Park kit waiting to be built (I'm getting a new bookshelf soon that I think will give me space to display it). It would be fun to see what everyone is building!
