Coding help

Recommended Posts

I’m pretty new to the game, and I really just want to be able to make my posts look nice. So far I’ve managed to figure out most of it, except how to put pictures of dragons (and where to find them) into a forum post.  Any other coding tips and tricks are also appreciated.

You can find a lot of that info in this thread.

And dragon images here. Just change any http link to https.

Alas, I've tried to do that, and some of the images still refuse to function. I don't know what the issue is. :(

That was my experience too; I got fed up in the end, and downloaded all the images from the wiki; then I upload whichever one I need :)

In that case maybe you should have downloaded images from DC itself? Images on wiki have slightly worse quality than originals.

Edit: Not all but some of them are.

It doesn't really matter - one only needs them good enough for trade posts - but yes, I guess downloading from the market would get almost all of them. I am not about to go to every page in the encyclopaedia !

My experience also; the pinned topics don’t cover current problems with the images in signatures. I had to remake my signature from scratch (I posted about this somewhere.).

ETA: Here is my post and what I ended up doing to recover my signature images. I was lucky in that I still had a tab open with my old signature in it.

ALL the images in sigs had to be reuploaded after the upgrade.

Add s to http. https

That seems to resolve the issue.

That was among the fixes I tried to implement. With the problem ones, I either get just a link, a blank image, or something really huge no matter what I do. :(

What I did was download the images and re-upload them - using the "add image" function, not using code. Assuming you still have the images ? (I looked through a few threads I had archived, but sadly no posts from you surfaced !)

I hadn't done any public trading since before the changeover happened, so by the time I was having problems, threads already existed. Will probably need to try your way in the future, Fuzz.
