Yanmega's quick speed allowed it to dodge the attack, the dragonfly rocketing itself upward with a powerful beat of his wings. He seemed to hiss for a second, which Courtney had forgotten he occasionally did when angry. He wasted no time waiting for Courtney to tell him an attack, taking initiative of the aggressiveness of the fight. Multiple copies of itself suddenly appeared in a slight circle all hovering angrily around the Toxicroak. They all glowed green for a moment. His Speed Boost had activated. This was going to get messy.

Courtney stepped back further, trusting her pokemon to take the fight himself. She knew angry Yanmega was far less likely to actually care if she had an opinion on what attacks he should use, having shown in previous battles that he cared more for ending a fight by then than strategy. That trait had nearly gotten him killed against a Typholision, although the dragonfly had seemed to learn that being that absolutely stubborn was not a trait he should practice often. "You got this Yanmega!" She encouraged, attempting to find higher ground in case the Toxicroak decided to go for her.

The clones of Yanmega and the actual pokemon itself started to have their wings glow. Was he preparing an Airslash? Or Sonic Boom? They started out similar enough which Courtney hated. He might have also decided to go the old route and use a tried-and-true wing attack. The dragonfly beat his wings hard a couple times, sending glowing saw-like blades in the bipedal frog's direction. She didn't know if those would hit, but silently hoped the frog or toad- she had never decided- wouldn't suddenly turn on her. The fight was hopefully against the dragonfly.

The Toxicroak paid no attention to Courtney, focusing on the dragonfly Pokémon that was its opponent. The glowing saw blades smashed into it, and it slid backwards slightly. The enemy stood up to its full height, croaking angrily and seemingly unharmed. As it croaked, its eyes bulged out and it started coughing, spitting out a mixture of blood and poison. The attack had done quite a bit of damage to its internals. The Toxicroak croaked again, before expelling a large, disgusting ball of poison. It threw the sludge bomb towards Yanmega.

The multiple copies of the dragonfly shuttered around in a circle, surrounding the angered toad. The ball of poison shattered one of the mirages, clipping the actual Yanmega's wing as it had moved through the other clones. He cried out, glaring for a brief moment at the Toxicroak. The dragonfly's eyes and red spots glowed a bright blue for a moment before Courtney realized he was trying to use Hypnosis on Toxicroak. Did Yanmega not want to kill the aggressive creature?

The dragonfly's clones that were left followed suit. The spectacle created an eerie feeling with the many speeding clones surrounding the angered toad. Courtney almost felt sorry for it. Almost. It had attacked them without needing to. Maybe that was Yanmega's plan. Attack the sleeping toad so it could at least die somewhat peacefully. Or perhaps in brutal murder. Courtney was no longer sure what Yanmega's motive was in this case with the Hypnosis. He hadn't used that move in quite some time. The last time had been a last ditch effort to convince a few Litwick they were not the enemy.

Hypnosis, being a move that would typically affect the opponent 60% of the time, had quite a large chance of failing. Despite the glowing eyes surrounding the Toad, it shook its head vigorously, managing to stay awake. It lifted its arms, a wide grin spreading across its face. It beckoned towards Yanmega with a claw, as if taunting him. As if saying: "Is that all you got?" The Toxicroak continued this behaviour for a while more. Even to a human, the condescending, smug expression on the Pokémons face would be extremely obvious.

((Honestly I only used Hypnosis to keep things more interesting and give a bit of brief insight into Yanmega's character.... He's quite different from Courtney's Ariados she is most used to having around. One could say that spider kept the dragonfly in line almost.))

Courtney smirked a little at the Taunt the Toxicroak used. Smart. Yanmega didn't seem flattered at all by the taunting though as he flashed green again. That speed boost activated once more, creating an eerie green ring around the toad for a moment. The dragonfly's wings glowed again during that, adding a ring of white. Soon the green was gone and only white flowed it's way around in a circle.

Double Team was turning out to be rather helpful. But also was somewhat worrying Courtney. Usually Yanmega would quit that by now. His evasiveness was already high. "Yanmega... what's gotten into you?" She whispered softly, wincing slightly when she noticed the blue saw-blades emerge again and fly fast toward the Toad. It was going to get what it deserved, but Courtney had caught a glimpse in Yanmega's eyes right then that showed something a little more concerning than them just winning the battle. Maybe it was because he had last taken down a Toxicroak that had nearly killed Ariados when he was heavily injured fending off a few unruly Pigeot. Perhaps that was causing the scary memory to come back to the dragonfly and cause him to fight even harder now that Ariados was not here.

Courtney hoped that was it. Her Yanmega had had an unruly streak of his own when he was a Yanma, having been notorious for forming a small band of Yanma and terrorizing a section of woods once. Ariados had managed to calm them, winning the respect and arguably gaining one of the strongest members of their team.

Bruce gave feraligatr a thumbs up as he saw the unmistakable signs of the Kingler going down.

"Now that you've done that, come give me a hand with these other crates," He called to the reptillian, turning back to look at the crate that he'd been trying to wedge open. Feraligatr walked over, frequently glancing back over it's shoulder at the unconcious kingler, licking it's lips.

Reaching the crate there was a quick flash of claws as Feraligatr sliced open the front of the crate. Bruce looked down and looked inside and then glanced back over to the crate that had been sliced open by the kingler, peering as to what was inside it.

"Okay, cheers mate. Now go and... take out the kingler, I'm getting hungry again,". Bruce looked at the crate and then looked back out to the jungle. If he were to cook up the kingler he'd need suitable wood to make a fire.

By now, the Toxicroak was having a lot of trouble discerning which one was the real Yanmega. It look around the glowing ring of white, turning towards the sudden movement. Before it could react to it though, it was smashed straight in the face with the saw-blades, leaving several deep lacerations. Angered, the Toxicroak decided to go for a Poison Jab. Its claws dripping with it, the Toad stuck its arms out into the ring surrounding it, trying to catch Yanmega as it flew around in the circle.

The crate that he opened would be filled with preserved berries. There would be a few rows of them. Some looked quite rare and unique, and most were uncommon. They were mostly intact, with some looking dry and brown. Those were the obviously inedible ones. There would be 3 more crates scattered along the beach.

Edible loot:

The crate that the Kingler had opened had been filled with assorted spray bottles. Antidotes and burn heals would be present, with 3 of the former and 1 of the Latter surviving the crate being sliced open.

Of course, the two spray bottles would work on humans too. But it would be hard for Bruce to choose between the two. The Weepinbell had been filled with acid, which could potentially be poisonous. Though it had not caused any lasting effect. On the other hand, the acid had given him mild chemical burns, which the burn heal would be useful for. Or he could go ahead and use both bottles.

The Kingler Feraligatr had crushed was taking its last breath, bubbles flowing out of its mouth. It seemed quite edible. Delicious, even. The crate wood seemed to be fit for a fire. it would be relatively easy to find sticks around to burn as well.

Courtney understood what the Toad was doing now, watching it stick its hands into the ring. "Yanmega watch out! End Double Team!" She shouted, not wanting the dragonfly to be hurt. The Poison Jab was an extremely potent one, probably because of how hard this battle was going. She hoped the enraged dragonfly heard her. The last thing they needed was a poison injury with no visible Pecha Berries around.

Suddenly Yanmega's actual self appeared singly from Toxicroak's side, speeding at it with a Slash prepared. Oh this was going to hurt if it hit. The dragonfly was aiming for the opened right side, ready to dodge if the Toxicroak should try to use the Poison Jab. It was covering a short distance however, and with that speed it was very likely to Courtney the Toad would not get any proper chance to defend itself from the attack.

At least it would be over then. Or very close to it.

As the Toads attack missed Yanmega completely, it was brought to the ground from the slash that it was unable to react to. It was obviously in no condition to continue the fight anymore. Slowly, it tried to limp back to where it had come from, with blood flowing from the many wounds around its body.

Yanmega hovered in the spot where the Toad had been, still angered but not pursing his target. "Yanmega..." Courtney said in a slightly cautious, but firm tone. She stepped closer to the enraged dragonfly, her right hand reaching carefully to his head. The dragonfly's wings fluttered slightly faster for a second without moving him anywhere before he settled himself on her head, completely bypassing her hand. Everything was silent again.

"What the hell was that about?" Courtney broke the silence with the question. She was concerned but decided to continue moving toward the jungle more. They needed things for a pack. "You haven't fought that hard in a few years bud... since you evolved even... last time you fought that hard was when you were fighting Ariados." The dragonfly buzzed slightly to the name before going still. "That it? That fight remind you of our friend?" No response. She reached up and patted the giant bug pokemon on his head. "You worry me sometimes bud. I know you mean well, and you're amazing... but sometimes your streak comes back and I'd hate to find out what would happen if you completely disregarded me for some old memory and reverted back to your old self. You're much stronger than you were then..." She trailed off, realizing the dragonfly wasn't in the mood for chat. She hoped he wouldn't ever turn on her. Especially now. They needed each other and if the memory or even mention of Ariados was going to set him off, she wasn't sure how that would end for either of them.

Courtney could only imagine a band of Yanmega under the control of her own. He'd been a powerful Yanma, and as a Yanmega he certainly was a force to reckon with. "We're gonna be ok bud. I'm sure Ariados is ok too. Maybe once we get back home mom'll let us take him again. I know you two were best friends." She reassured Yanmega, touching one of his front feet for added effect. He grasped onto her hand for a moment before the silence took them over again as they walked.

Bruce looked on amazed as Feraligatr opened the last of the crates, releasing it's bounty of berries.

"Wow there's a tonne of berries! I wonder how many are good enough to eat," Bruce said. He bent down and picked em up, there were a fair few with obvious signs of rotting.

"You know if we don't eat the bad ones... I wonder if we could use them as bait... I'm sure there'd be some pokemon that would go for them despite them being a little bad," Bruce said thoughtfully.

He scooped up all the bad berries and placed them in one of the less damaged crates and put the lid back on. He then gathered the remaining few berries that looked quite good and placed them on a bit of spare wood.

"Hey feraligatr see if you can get some big pieces of wood, preferably some that could hold kingler here up, and also get some leaves we could wrap these berries in, I heard it's good for keeping them from drying out," Bruce said. The large beast nodded and moved off towards the trees where it began to rip off branches once more. While he did this bruce took the remains of the crates and began breaking them up further and putting them in a decent pile by the body of the kingler. As he did he noticed the crate that had been split open by the kinglers final attack.

Walking up to it he inspected the contents, most of it had been torn apart by the vicious attack it seemed. But he noticed a few bottles lying just out on the sand and picked them up.

Huh, antidotes... wonder what else

He picked up the only different coloured bottle and inspected it.

Burn heal... hmmm

Looking down at his red leg he began to wonder which one he would use.

He hadn't been in the mouth of the weepinbel too long and it also never sprayed him with it's imobilizing spray.

"I guess it never really got any poison in to me..." He said.

Taking the burn heal and briefly shaking it Bruce sprayed it on his sore leg and quickly began to feel relief. He sighed in happiness and then took the remaining antidotes over to the pile of berries and deposited them. He looked up and saw Feraligatr carrying several large thick pieces of wood as well as several sticks held in it's mouth. Bruce chuckled briefly at the site, reminded of a dog playing fetch.

The Toxicroak dissapeared into the bushes, gone. The chirps and squeaks of small Pokémon could be heard once again as the large predator departed. As it left, the sound of it dragging something heavy along the ground could be heard. It still wasn't too late to follow it though. Or they could just continue on their way.

((Where are the two walking towards? Deeper into the jungle?))

Bruce looked on amazed as Feraligatr opened the last of the crates, releasing it's bounty of berries.

The Wingull that had been pecking in the sand would squawk. If Bruce and Feraligatr were to approach, the Wingull would fly off over the ocean. It appeared to have been pecking at a clutch of newly hatched Tirtouga. Four of the six babies would have been killed, and the last two were waddling towards the ocean as fast as they could.

The crate wood would be strong, and if cut correctly, could easily be used to hold up the dead Crab. There would be lots of large leaves on the trees around the beach, and that would be easy too. The Burn heal seemed to have worked well. The leg felt normal, and the redness was going away.

The crate that they had filled with rotting berries would have no Pokémon approaching them yet. It didn't seem like any of them would appear until Bruce and Feraligatr were hidden or left for bit.

((I have no idea lol so probably further into the jungle. They're in search of items to make a pack for the juice boxes and food.))

Courtney stopped a little ways away from the dragging sound. Did they dare? Yanmega seemed to be showing interest, but he had also just gotten off a battle. They had larger things to worry about; like food, and creating a pack for supplies.

Nearby a dead vine was drooping off a tree branch. The leaves here were thicker. Definitely more suitable for a pack. Testing the vine, Courtney smiled a bit as the dragonfly removed the tangled part from the tree. That would do. It was maneuverable enough to be a good natural rope. "Let's see if we can get a few more long ones like this... maybe we can make a pack for me, and a type of pack for you so we can carry more food." She responded, holding the rope-like vine. Yanmega gathered a few more ones just like it, dropping them into her arms. "And big leaves. We need those too." She added, the dragonfly using Slash to knock a few off the tree.

As Lucille and Rotom dashed further into the jungle, Lucille felt her shoes grow strangely sticky and slippery. A peculiar wet feeling was beginning to seep into her feet. She paused and looked down, seeing a juicy blue paste spread across her shoes. "Rotom, do you know what this is?" she asked. Rotom bobbed its head up and down excitedly, and flew over to a bush, shaking vigorously.

"Yes, Rotom, I know, this place has lots of bushes. What are you... wait." Lucille paused and looked at the bush more carefully. She tilted her head to the side and shook it. A bunch of Rawst Berries poured out of the bush, and Lucille quickly scooped them up and put them in her bag.

"Good job, Rotom! Do you know what this means? If there are berries here, that means there could be other fruits. Even Apricorns. And if there are Apricorns, we can make Poké Balls." Lucille grinned and walked onward. "Alright, let's keep going! We've got a long way to go."

The gathering of materials to make a pack would go by without any considerable drama. As they cut down the vines, a few bug Pokémon would scatter in fear, but that was it. The vines would mostly be strong, and the pack made from it would be unlikely to break.

Although the woods around them would have a multitude of berries, mostly Rawst berries, there wouldn't seem to be any Apricorns anywhere. Although a few cheri berries and Oran berries were growing all over the place. They would be suitable food for both humans and Pokémon

Bruce and feraligatr carefully pushed the wood through the Kinglers body, planting two stakes in the ground above the makeshift fire pit. Carefully they managed to balance the kingler above and Bruce briefly tested the spit's rotation.

"Well that seems alright... now we gotta find a way to light this," Bruce said thoughftully. He walked around picking up dry, dead leaves when he noticed the Tirtouga trying to get away from the Wingull.

"Oi, buzz off!" He said angrilly swining his branch at the bird. "Feraligatr use aqua jet, hit it before it can get away!" Bruce called out, the crocadilian nodded and shot forward on a stream of water colliding hard with the bird.

"Just take him out, keep him from attacking the Tirtouga and when you're done come over here, we can try use metal claw on some rocks to make a spark," Bruce said, walking away from the wingull and depositing the leaves on the pile of wood. After this he briefly searched around for some rocks to use as flint.

The first hit sent the Wingull flying. With an indignant squawk, the poor bird took off, high into the air. It disappeared off across the ocean. The rocks would produce a bunch of sparks every time they were hit. There would be no flint-worthy rocks around on the ground, but the large boulders around the beach seemed to fulfil that role well enough.

((I've been sick. Sorry))

Courtney marveled at the pack they created. It was large enough to carry more than she had originally expected, but the fit made it not seem cumbersome and she hoped it would stay that way when filled with other things.

"Ok Yanmega. Let's work on heading back to those crates shall we?" She chuckled a little when the dragonfly landed back on her head with a happy hum. She hoisted the pack onto her back and started off back in the direction they had come to return to those crates.

Bruce leaned on his walking stick watching as Feraligatr rolled one of the larger rocks over towards their fire pit.

"Okay man, metal claw! Let's light this sucker on fire!" He declared. Nodding feraligatr's claws suddenly gleamed, appearing almost chrome and then he swung them down against the rock, causing sparks to fly off, scattering towards the kindle on the pile.

Watching Bruce walked over to the living trees, his stick supported on his shoulder like a baseball bat.

"You know, if there are people on this island some smoke might be a good idea," He said to himself as he reached up and pulled some green leaves off of the trees.

As they trekked through the foliage, the sounds of Pokémon would fill the air. It seemed as though everything was normal, and nothing dangerous was near. Assuming they went straight through the jungle and didn't get lost, the trip would be uneventful. The Crates would be just as they left it, apart from a Wingull perched on top of it. The bird would quickly flap its wings and get away as they approached.

The fire would be lit rather easily. Some of the wood wouldn't catch fire due to being damp from the sea, but as the fire dried it out, it would ignite too. If they piled green leaves on it, a plume of smoke would rise into the air, visible from the coast and high ground.

((I'd assume legendaries would range from things like Mew-Darkria-Xerneas :/ And I'd also assume Mega Pokemon are out... if you want a Slacking or Garchomp that's probably fine :/ but It's up to Melo))

((Lore wise, yeah. No having Raikous or Darkrais, or anything of the sort. Psuedo legendaries like Garchomp are alright. Try not to go too overboard and attempt to level the entire island or anything though.))
