Ancient Monsters

((User: Pudding

Name: Agni

Age: 23

Species: Human

Looks: Agni

Personality: Agni is easy to provoke, though she does pretend to put on a calming front. She loathes all types of monsters and doesn't see a lick of good in any of them, causing her to refuse to seek the aid from any kind of bound monster. She's very prejudice and does her job as best as she can to rid the world of all monsters.

History: Rp'ed

Powers/weapons: Agni is very knowledgable in all manners of exorcisms and weaknesses of various types of monsters she has studied. Beyond this, she uses a staff (The bottom of which is pointy to double as a stake) covered in sigils to repel creatures of demonic nature and verbal spells to create barriers and that kind of thing. Most of her spells she gets from a small book she keeps in her sleeve but she has committed several to memory. She also uses talismans to seal monsters in place to give her enough time to properly kill them

Other: She's pretty powerful and has been fighting monsters for most of her life. She's not afraid to run away, though, so her win ratio is not that big.

I'm going to wait for Soiled before having Sethos jump in. If he does end up getting bound, it would be a good way to skip ahead to the mainland since he can't cause any more trouble.))

((She's probably going to hate all of them since the only other human is Mikado and he's got a demonic sword. But I can see her not getting along with Saren at all. It's going to be awesome.))

((I'm more than half tempted for her to find out about Namina's werewolfism and then try to restore her... by kidnapping her and trying a bunch of experimental cures until someone rescues her.

That being said, I do think we need more humans. They're heavily outnumbered.))

Name: Felix Randolph III

Age: 18

Species: human

Looks: Link

Personality: Felix is quiet, calm, and generally easygoing. He is slow to anger and quick to please. Because of this, he is usually a voice of reason in the chaos he's usually surrounded in.

History: Apprentice to Agni. Until picked up by Agni, he was raised by a witch. This gives him superior knowledge of the supernatural and what to deal with. When given the opportunity, he left his home in England when offered to travel with Agni. He has been with her ever since.

Powers/weapons: He carries an iron sword, and staff that looks like thisat all times. He also has a bottomless (*magic*) staff that he keeps all his spellbooks, potion ingredients, etc. in.

Other: doesn't agree with Agni's spiteful ways and usually goes about things his own way ))

Mikado jumped as Kuro rattled and screamed in his mind to be let out for battle. He opened his eyes when the commotion escalated to something he couldn't ignore and caught Namina as she fell. "Hey! Are you alright?" He looked up at the demonic presence and sighed. "Alright... Fine. Let's do something about this... Whao. What?" He blinked as, in Namina's place lay a wolf. "Okay... What?" He frowned. What was next? The ship coming alive and eating people? Don't jinx yourself, Mikado. He put the werewolf down and got up, shouldering Kuro and walking towards the demon. "Hey, hey, calm down. No one wants a sinking ship, right? It'll be bad to have a fight break out here, you know?" He said, raising one hand in the universal gesture of peace.

"Or make them suspicious..." Tsukiko drawled, rolling her eyes slightly. "Then again, many humans are stupidly trusting..." She sighed. "Whatever. Do what you want. But I get to play hostess. I have been awfully lonely with just you foxes around as company..." She got up and walked towards the now brand new mansion. "Don't you want to come in, too? I heard you kitsunes were rather..." Her mouth suddenly curled in a sharp grin, "... promiscuous creatures..."

Sethos stared at the wolf briefly, raising his robes to his nose once more. That explained the smell. Clearly not a natural born werewolf or he would have smelled it on her earlier. But that didn't stop it from smelling like wet dog. And even still, he did not fear such a beast. Werewolves were not even demonic in nature and he had never met a strong one. They were as common as rats and certainly not as noble bred as he. When the man stood and attempted to make peace, it was unsurprising Sethos was dismissive. "Why break the ship when I could just throw you off?" He replied softly as he turned away to look back towards the crew. They were lucky enough to be blessed with his presence yet they scampered away whimpering like puppies. With a sigh, he turned back to the man and shifted his feet slightly as he regarded him again. "I have no interest in making peace with humans. Would you shake hands with a pig?" His hands curled up slightly as a dull, white glow began to take over the color of his fingernails. He was ready for a fight and not backing down.

Mikado just grinned cockily at the demon. Although he wasn't good at this whole diplomacy thing (seeing as he just seemed to be worsening the demon's moon instead of making things better), he had dealt with Daiyokai and some were just as bad, if not worse than this demon (the priests and exorcists had to make peace with them since they controlled so much of yokai civilization and kept most of them in check). However, they were easier to deal with seeing that Kuro was Japanese in origin, the Daiyokai obviously knew about Kuro and he had gained respect from Daiyokai from just holding Kuro. "Maybe you'd need to actually put effort in fighting, thus accidentally breaking the ship? I dunno, why do you?" He turned the obviously rhetorical question right back to the demon. "And I would shake hands with a pig if it were intelligent enough to understand the meaning of hand shaking." Kuro then took it as the cue to mentally sting him and tell him to just get on with the fight. "Ow! Ow, Kuro, that actually hurt you know?" He said aloud, glaring at the sword resting motionless on his shoulder. He would've thought it to Kuro if he hadn't mastered blocking Kuro out of his thoughts and memories. "I don't care if it was mental, it hurt. Plus, mental stings hurt more than physical ones. You can't build a mental pain tolerance, you know? It's impossible!" His eye twitched as his sword kept on insulting him. "Hey, I'll have you know that I'm perfectly intelligent enough to have figured that out by myself." He humph-ed angrily, ignoring the fact that he probably looked really weird, arguing with his sword.

There was a slight huff from the demonic dog at the man's response. He highly doubted that. To him, only the strong were worthy. Weak were insects in comparison and, usually, they'd be exterminated right off the bat. If he wasn't trapped on a boat in the middle of the ocean, the crew and everyone else would already be lying dead on the ground. But here, he didn't know how to sail a ship. He had taken a risk with the young boy since he hadn't appeared to be doing anything. But, at the same time, neither was this man. What was his purpose on the boat? Perhaps he was expendable. And what was he doing anyway? He seemed to be having a conversation with the sword on his back but that was impossible. Swords were inanimate objects. They couldn't talk. Frowning slightly, he shifted his foot backwards, deciding he had enough of this man. With inhuman speed, he jumped forward and swung his white-hot claws downwards, aiming to slash down the front of the man's torso. He'd leave him alive until he figured out what he did on the ship.

"Idiot, look out!" Kuro finally decided to talk out loud.

"I already know, you stupid piece of metal!" Mikado said as he swung to block the attack with Kuro, the wide, flat blade easily holding against the sharp claws. His other hand quickly stabilized the blade by holding it's other side. Mikado was so glad that Kuro was nearly indestructible. He was also glad for the fact that Kuro increased his strength, too. He allowed Kuro's mental pretense to come forwards in his mind, drawing from the strength of the demonic sword. He kinda hoped the bandages wouldn't be ruined, but, it didn't seem likely that they'd stay intact against such a demon. Dang, he hated having the stupid sword on display, people always became so mistrusting of him when that happened. The upside was that Kuro's power against demons and other creatures would be released, allowing the battle to go more smoothly.

"This demon's pretty strong!" Mikado told Kuro cheerfully. His blood pumped through his body and the exhilaration of being able to fight such a strong opponent got to him. His teeth elongated slightly, as did his nails. "I haven't had such a great opponent in ages!"

Ah? That was odd. The screech produced by his claws was not one of metal breaking on impact or even being cleaved through by the source of the heat. Instead, the blade held up against his strength. He hopped backwards quickly, his eyes focusing on the strange sword. His nose wrinkled up again as a new smell reached his nose, radiating off of both the man but especially the sword. It was... Demonic. "That is an interesting sword you have," Sethos declared, watching the two as the man began to visibly change. Well, that explained why it hasn't broken right away like most weapons did. But it simply meant he had to turn up the heat. He raised both of his claws, watching the man carefully as his hands were overtaken by the heat. The air around his hands began to wave, giving off a warning sign that it was starting to heat up considerably. As opposed to before when he only used one hand, having two hands ready was better. One would always be kept close for defending while the other could be used for attacking. If the sword got too close, his defending claws could be used to knock it off course. He stood up a bit straighter then quickly ran forward again, swinging his nails around towards the man's head. He's throw a few playful punches to test his skill first before getting serious. It was a bad habit of his to get distracted in fights but it did make the victory sweeter when the enemy thought they could actually win.

"Whao!" Mikado ducked the swipe, grinning widely as he continued to weave about. Seriously though, he really didn't want to fight. He was off duty, for god's sakes, it would be just his luck to get killed by a demon while on vacation. He could feel the heat radiating off the demon and was pretty sure that, without Kuro, he'd be melted. He winced as the claw nicked his arm, but back flipped away onto the edge of the boat to avoid the next punch. It was as if the monster wasn't even serious with the way the demon was fighting. It was far too relaxed and sloppy to be anything but playing around. Well, if the demon wouldn't be serious, he'd have to make the demon pay attention. Ripping off the bandages on Kuro in one smooth movement, he dashed forwards with inhumane speed and jumped up, swinging down at the demon and putting his weight into it. Even if this attack was blocked, the demon would get a shock. Kuro wasn't a demon blade for nothing and a simple touch from it would have any weaker demon running for the hills. It would hurt.

And it would hurt bad.

Even when taking it very simple, his claws had still managed to break past the sword enough to get one hit in. Well, it was clear to him he wouldn't have to revert. There was no point in it if at this level, he could still scratch him. Not pursuing him to the edge of the boat for obvious reasons, Sethos fell back slightly, observing instead of following. When the bandages were suddenly ripped from the sword, the stench of demons quickly amplified. Foul. Despite being demonic himself, Sethos hated the way in which other demons smelled. That was probably why he was so quick to kill them when they approached him or when he found them. Regular monsters tended to smell as well but demons had a certain vulgar stench he couldn't stand. It was ironic but he didn't care.

His left hand quickly rose up and a loud bang resounded from where the white-hot claws struck the demonic sword. Immediately, a shock like lightning raced down his arm and into his legs, filling his entire body with pain. Combined with the feeling from earlier, his legs buckled slightly and it took quite a considerable amount of force not to lower his defending arm. His teeth- which started to resemble fangs again-ground against each other. His leg slipped back slightly as he quickly raised his other hand up, his fingers coming together so that his nails formed a point. He quickly aimed a jab at the man's chest, trying to get a strike in and force him back. Why did touching the sword hurt him so much? He'd never met something like that before that hurt just by touching it. He'd have to remove it.

When Namina finally came to her senses, she staggered to stand. Her anger from before had vanished due to the incredible pain in transforming. Now that she wasn't under attack, she was able to herd her crew to safety. The werewolf tended to her crew below deck, carefully looking each person over for injuries. The crew had already gotten busy to taking care of the injured sailor, so she had little to worry about. She just had to be sure that the fight on deck wouldn't destroy her ship. When she emerged outside yet again, her now yellow eyes narrowed at Sethos. The woman charged forwards, leaping to tackle the demonic beast. She'd settle this herself if she had to.

The fox smiled cheekily at his "roomate", and shook his head. Sorry, I have some things to put together first. How's about a rain check? Morphing back into his fox form, Saren winked, and ran off. Time to find some victims, then. He knew exactly where to go, too.

I think we should start off by learning some of the lore around here before we go off in search of monsters Hefting the majority of the luggage, Felix spoke excitedly to his mentor. The young man nearly tripped as he felt fur brush his ankle. With a yelp, he staggered backwards into Agni. A fox? Why would a fox be out in-Felix's blue eyes widened. The fox...had three tails?! Was that even possible?! Agni...That fox...

Mikado felt the pull Kuro gave him with a start and he was launched backwards, taken off guard by his sword. He crashed and rolled backwards onto his feet. He had been pulled out of his battle-state by that and his excitement died down a little. "What in Amaterasu's name was that, Kuro?" He whined at his sword.

"You fool. Are you trying to get yourself killed?" It replied harshly, red marking glowing the louder it spoke.

"Aw... I didn't know you cared for me so much..." Mikado cooed, eyes on the demon. Suddenly, the wolf reappeared and leaped at the demon.

Tsukiko bared her teeth in an amused grin as she watched the fox leave. She sighed and shook her head. Damn that little thing, never mind the fact that it was older than her, she couldn't believe she was getting attached to the fox. Oh well, better get things set up... She walked into the mansion to prepare it.

As the sword removed itself by leaping backwards, Sethos nearly fell to his knees. The shocks of pain still rocked his body and it hurt considerably. That was annoying. He hasn't suffered any physical damage, though, so the pain subsided rather quickly. Quick enough that when the werewolf leapt out of the shadows, he had enough time to dodge. His sharp claws dug into the mast of the ship and he quickly climbed upwards, leaving smoldering black marks in his wake as he gained some height on the two. Quickly, he flipped around so he was standing on top of one of the large beams that supported the great white sails of the ship. He had two to deal with now. Maybe he would have to step it up a notch. He opened his mouth and fire began to lick forward from the back of his throat. He allowed the fire to build for a few moments before snapping his jaws shut and blowing out of his nose with tremendous force. Smoke poured from his nose and rocketed downwards, covering the deck and blooming outwards. It wouldn't take too long to rise up but he could at least make them choke a bit or force them up to fight on the mast. It would be harder to handle a sword when you had to climb.

Agni stopped short, her grip on her staff tightening. Fox? In this territory, it had to be a Kitsune. Had her apprentice fought one of them yet? Either way, they had to go after it. "Come, Felix," Agni order as she reached up her sleeve to produce her small book, quickly searching for a binding spell.

"Come on, Kuro... I thought you wanted to fight?" Mikado asked his sword. How annoying... Now that the demon was high up, he'd have to rely on Kuro. He didn't enjoy relying on Kuro too much, but he had no choice. He didn't want to suffocate. He receded back into his mind, allowing Kuro to take up more and more of his consciousness. His hair lengthened, his claws and fangs grew, his skin hardened and his eyes glowed slightly. Horns grew from his head, curving like a ram's and a pair of black wings burst from his back in a shower of blood. He might have not changed much in body size of shape (not really bulky at all, and only average height), but he could feel the strength flooding him. Mikado, getting the hang of controlling Kuro after their many years together, quickly jumped into control before Kuro could just take off in his body. The strength and feeling of power receded slightly, but the extra features stayed. He flapped his wings a couple of times before taking to the skies, whooping. He loved flying, that was the best part of sharing his mind with Kuro, the freedom that came with the ability to fly. After looping twice, he dived at the demon blowing smoke and swung Kuro.

With a growl, Namina wiped angrily at her watering eyes. Stupid beast! The woman coughed, using a paw-like hand to swat at the smoke. Fine. Fine! If this monster wanted to play games, she'd end this fast! Although she had been reluctant to use it at first, she pulled her Flintlock pistol from her belt. It took so long to load, it was a pain. But the smoke meant she had some cover to clean and load the barrel with gunpowder. Then, she'd shoot the bloody monster! It was that simple! As soon as the smoke grew thin enough, she aimed her freshly-loaded weapon at Sethos, and fired.

In response to Agni, the fox that sat at Felix's feet chattered in laughter. He wasn't that stupid. But these two...they were perfect! In sharp, barking yelps, the fox's laughter only grew louder. When it stopped abruptly, he took off running down the path towards the manor. An easy trap, really. Hunters couldn't resist to kill something as powerful as a Kitsune. As the fox burst into the manor, he wasted no time in returning to his rightful place on the shrine. Before he returned to his seat, he yelped only three words. Battle-stations, Tsukiko!

Both surprised and interested, the apprentice ran after Saren. Agni could look up her spells all she wanted, but that wouldn't help if the fox ran away. This way! It went this way! Even from their recent arrival in Japan, Felix was astonished at how many monsters walked about in the open. It seemed no one minded them here! It was so strange! Why wasn't anyone afraid of them? Even the demons weren't usually minded!

The smoke stopped pouring from his nose after a short bit as he both had to breathe in and rekindle the flame in his throat. Before he could, however, he was started to see the man leap out of the smoke, flapping leathery demonic wings. It seemed like the sword he carried had limited possession abilities to bestow him with demonic traits. What a fool. Now that he was looping and making noise, he could ready himself for an attack. He bent slightly, ready to catch the blade when a crack like thunder filled the air. Pain filled Sethos's shoulder as his footing slipped and he fell from the wooden beam, down onto the smoke covered deck.

That was it. He tried to remain calm but his wrath was really building up. He wouldn't show it, of course, but getting shot by some weak human weapon was really irritating to him. His pride felt wounded and he had to redeem it. A filthy werewolf and some human wielding a demonic sword were no match for him. His claws curled into fists as the warmth. His claws had already started to grow and his eyes had turned red once more as he steadied himself on the ground. The hole in his shoulder began to leak out molten sludge as his entire body began to heat up, causing the deck under him to smoke. He crouched briefly then leaping at the werewolf nearby. He'd disable her first then go after the flying one. His burning claws slashed at her, aiming a cut across her torso from side to side.

"I see that you fool," Agni replied, chasing after her apprentice. She reached out, trying to grab ahold of his collar. "But wait! We should proceed with caution, not recklessly charge in! Kitsune are powerful monsters and rushing after it wildly only means death!" She scowled as she flipped through her book briefly before finding a suitable binding spell. "We go in slowly, weapons raised. It getting away is better than us dying."

Didn't you say you wanted Sethos to have his ass handed to him? I can have Mikado catch him off guard with a trap if you don't mind))

Tsukiko grinned and flexed her powers over the house. It was her most elaborate, but also easiest illusions. Most other yokai went traveling if they didn't have a shrine or something like that to attend to. However, Tsukiko had always, always been in this house. She was almost a part of it. The house seemed to groan and come alive. It's door opened in the parody of a mouth and it 'blinked' it's windows.
