Book Title: Физическа антропология (Physical anthropology)

Author: Цветан Минков (Tsvetan Minkov)

Summary: It's not exactly a novel. It's more like an educational book about everything you need to know about anthropology. The next 8 books will be reviewed with only a sentence or two, because I read them in like 1 week and can't remember what exactly happened in each one. In my mind it's one whole story, not 8 separate books.

SPOILER!!! These are the first 8 books from the Sweep series - it's about a girl - Morgan, who finds out she's adopted and a blood witch. She starts practicing Wicca with Cal - the new gorgeous boy in her school, who also happens to like her. But it's too late when she understands that he only wants to use her to get her magick. In the right moment Hunter - a very powerful witch, working for the international council of witches - saves her and they fall in love. But Morgan is too powerful witch and a lot of other bad witches want to kill her and have her power. Including her birth father. So she has to learn the craft really quickly so she can protect herself.

I intend to read the remaining 7 books after my exams in February biggrin.gif

Book Title: The Parting

Author: Beverly Lewis

Summary: Christian fiction. Nellie Mae Fisher’s younger sister Suzy died in an accident several months ago. Being a young woman in her Rumschpringe years, Suzy had been the subject of unkind gossip within the Old Order Amish community due to having been seen in the company of non-Amish boys, and her death before she officially joined the church merely gave the Elders further reason for condemnation. Unfortunately for Nellie Mae, one of the firmest in his belief that the Fisher girls were all fast and worldly, was David Yoder, the father of her boyfriend Caleb. When the community becomes split between those who hold to the Old Ways and those who wish to make some changes, the Yoders and the Fishers find themselves on opposite sides of the fence. David gives Caleb an ultimatum: break off with Nellie or be disinherited.

Or should she turn to the New Order church, with its emphasis on having a personal relationship with the Lord? Having read Suzy’s diary and learned that her late sister had embraced the beliefs of the New Order, she found herself tempted to join if only to try to see what Suzy found so special. But she knew that if she did so, she would lose any chance of ever marrying the man she loved.

She’s an artist, hiding her forbidden paints and canvases in an attic studio at the home of a Mennonite cousin for whom she works part time. Unfortunately, Annie’s church is one that forbids such doings. Her passion for her art has already caused her to break off with her boyfriend, who was pushing her to join the church and get married. Annie takes solace in her correspondence with her Englisher pen-pal Louisa, a modern woman from Colorado. When Louisa breaks things off with her own fiancé, she decides to escape her troubles for a time by visiting Annie and immersing herself in Plain life. Book Title: The Englisher

Author: Beverly Lewis

Summary: Christian fiction. Between one of her landscape paintings winning an art contest and being displayed on the cover of a magazine and gaining the attentions of handsome Englisher Ben Martin, Annie Zook finds herself amid a storm of controversy. Restless after promising her father to put the painting away for six months, Annie ends up at further odds with her family by not only starting a relationship with Ben, but by daring to borrow one of Louisa’s modern outfits to wear on a date with him. Caught by her father, Annie is ordered to stop seeing Ben immediately and to promptly begin instruction for baptism into the church. Angered by her father’s sternness towards her actions while he ignores her brother’s purchase of a forbidden car as well as dating an Englisher girl, she instead leaves home to move in with her oldest friend, whose mentally unstable husband Zeke has just turned himself in to the police for the murder of his little brother some sixteen years before.

Book Title: The Brethren

Author: Beverly Lewis

Summary: Christian fiction. Ben Martin was devastated when Annie wrote of her father’s ultimatum, but feeling he’d gotten her in enough trouble, chose not to try to see her one last time. He saw Annie’s prize-winning painting and despite being a Kentucky boy, felt he knew the place in the picture. A visit to his parents in Kentucky revealed a long-hidden secret: he was not born to them, but adopted at approximately the age of four. That he’d been found on a doorstep and taken to child services, and that it had been months before he spoke, a phenomenon chalked up to his having been traumatized in some way. On his return to Pennsylvania, Ben runs into Annie at the old covered bridge of her painting, where he tells his story and she theorizes that he might just be the little brother Zeke believes he killed. Her father refuses to listen to her idea at first, assuming that his headstrong daughter is merely trying to make her Englisher boyfriend more acceptable to the People. But events soon prove that Ben is indeed the boy long thought dead, and he is accepted into the community and church. And by way of apology, Annie’s father takes on the local bishop to win permission for her to take up her painting once more.
