Reality and Fiction Collide

The shadow aspects of Dark Link slowly began to melt away as he solidified. Swirling darkness became pale skin and a black tunic and glowing red eyes transformed into scarlet irisies. White hair fell iin his eyes and lingered there so matter how many times the shadow brushed it away. Zoras are fish-people. Sort of. They're blue as well but not that blue. They have their own domain in Hylia and are really peaceful from what I know. You remind me of a Zora. He explained innocently. Alaya's question made him tilt his head slightly. A what? No, I'm a shadow entity...thing. A dark copy of a hero named Link, and quite literally his shadow.

((Here's an idea of what a Zora looks like Link))

"i don't knoww. but i refuse to be handled so roughly" Eridan said incredulously, "besides, you might rip my cape or somethin"

Eridan probably knew Buttercup was right, but he would never admit it. He wasn't that cold yet.

Buttercup let out a snort of anger. Was Eridan seriously this dense?

"Fine then," she spat, throwing the rope onto the ground. "We'll just sit here and wait until you're cold enough to move." Buttercup sat down near the fire and crossed her arms. As soon as Eridan gave up this stupid act, they could get moving.

Loki raised an eyebrow with the sudden change of speech but decided, for once, to simply shut up and keep moving. "Quickly now," he replied before running, his long legs helping him flee the scene rather quickly. Clint and the 'angel' or whatever in Odin's name he was had their hands full with the monster. It was the perfect time for an escape. Of course, then came the harsh bright light from behind them. Quickly gesturing, Loki drew up an icy barrier to blot out the light and help cover their escape.

"Hey, we're all friends," Jack replied as he tucked his staff under his arm and lazily approached the two. "Does it really matter what we are? As long as we've got good nose for fun, a sense of humor and can see each other just fine, it doesn't really matter. That, and I don't know what I am or where I came from. I'm feeling a bit left out of the conversation and would like if we changed topics. Like, back to that group of people you said could see me. Let's talk about them again."

Lanie darted after him, ignoring the protests all over. Everything hurt after smashing into a building so hard. Nothing seemed broken, however. She easily caught up to Loki even when in pain, and then fell in pace with him. Where would they go? Back to the church? Their stuff was still there.

As light started to form on the new creature, Azog cursed in the Black Speech as he wondered where all this wizard filth was coming from. Starting to get back on his feet, he saw his mace lying on the ground just out of reach, and was about to lunge for it, but the light became too bright and he had to hold his hand up to shield his eyes. Figuring that this light was most likely not good for him, he tried to dodge to the side. Unfortunately, he had moved too late, and he was once again thrown backward, but when he landed this time, he just gave a slight grunt as he lost consciousness.

Aayla didn’t recognize the race that Dark Link described, but then like she’d said earlier, it’s a big galaxy. As he went on to explain himself, she couldn’t help but wonder at the ‘dark copy’ part. She was about to ask about it, but then Jack approached, and at his words, she recognized that feeling left out even by those who could see him wouldn’t be good for the young man, so she gave an understanding smile and a small nod of her head. She was still a little apprehensive about the ‘dark’ facet of Dark Link, so she figured she’d simply have to stay alert until she figured him out.

Looking at Jack, she said, “Yes, the Jedi. Unfortunately, getting to the Temple on Coruscant could prove tricky…” she trailed off in thought for a moment as she wondered if Dark Link would seek to travel with them as well. She simply felt too much uncertainty about this shadow person to allow that. “I do apologize Jack, but I must ask you, Dark Link… You said you were a ‘copy’, do you mean that you’re a clone?” Then, making sure to keep her tone passive, she stretched out with the Force to try to gauge his feelings as she asked what could be a dangerous question, “And are you aligned with the Sith?”

A what? Who are the Sith? The shadow creature asked. Once again he tilted his head to the side. All of this was confusing. There was nothing but confusion and curiosity in his expression as he pondered over Alaya's question. More like a...I don't know. I'm literally Link's shadow personified. I was made by Ganon to kill stuff and get revenge on Link, but it's way harder than it sounds. I quit that several thousand years ago. He paused after talking to turn to Jack. Were there other people that could see him? That was great! Are there others that can see you too?

Once the light cleared, Gabriel dusted his hands off and smiled. "There we go," he said, strolling over and producing a pair of handcuffs to hook the creature to a lamp post. It wouldn't keep him, the angel was merely amused. And for now he was done wreaking havoc, which was good. "Hey, William Tell, that's how you do it," he called to Clint.

A heavy thud from behind told Loki that picking up the pace would probably be a good idea. He swiftly rounded the corner and ran back to the church, opening the doors with a small blast of magic. "We should gather everything and then leave," he said firmly. "I do not wish to stay here any longer with company like that."

"Yeah!" Jack said, beaming pleasantly. "There was a whole group of girls. They were super nice and had me sign a bunch of papers but we didn't get to talk about much before they ran off. But there were, like, at least ten of them!" If ten girls in one place all believed in him, there had to be more, right? Maybe a large group of people believed in him. This was great!

Luiz sighed and got up, shaking the snow that had collected on his back after waiting for so long. They'd probably forgotten him after the fight. "Guess they left me," the bulldog mumbled to himself, waddling away from where he'd been watching the fight. He bumped into something and looked up, seeing that it was a man with a bow and arrow. How strange, but he didn't really think the man wanted to chat, so he continued on around him.

The Winter Soldier crept along an alleyway after watching the display of light and the departure of the two people he hated most in the world. It seemed they had many enemies- and therefore his allies. This would work well for him.

Aayla listened to Dark Link with growing misgivings. By the sounds of it, he was the essence of a Sith creation. However, she also had to admit that she wasn’t picking up on any hostility or deception, nor indeed anything that would suggest he was trying to mask such things. When he mentioned how long ago he had stopped trying for revenge, she was not only surprised by his age, but also feeling a little bit at ease with him.

Listening to the others talk while she thought, she wondered whether Jack still wanted to go to Coruscant or stay here to search for those who could see him. Of course, it was entirely his choice to make, and she’d respect his decision either way. She also wondered if Dark Link would want to go to Coruscant as well. He was unlike any race she’d ever encountered, or even heard about in Jedi lore. There was no doubt that the council would be eager to learn about both Jack and Dark Link.

Giving Jack a genuine smile, Aayla said, “I am truly happy for you Jack, and if you wish to search here for others who can see you, I hope only the best for you. However, I must be getting back... If you’re still interested, the offer to come with me still stands, and extends to you as well, Dark Link.” She looked to Dark Link as she added, “The council would be very interested in speaking with you as well.” Looking again to the sky, she thought for a moment, and then said, “However, I’m not entirely certain how to get off this planet. Would it be best to make for this Kennedy spaceport, or…” Looking to Jack again, she said, “You had mentioned Guardians earlier. Are they Jedi Guardians, and do you know where to find them?”

Still out cold, Azog’s hand gave a slight, subconscious twitch when touched, but he didn’t stir as he was chained to a lamp post.

"Pfff. Don't insult me." Clint replied to Gabriel. He had a bit of an ego, being a man and all. "I can shoot an apple off someone's head in m' sleep." Upon being nudged, Clint looked down. A dog? He'd always wanted a dog as a kid. There was obvious reasons why that never happened. He sucked his lips together and crouched. "C'mere little guy, I'm not gon' hurt ya."

Lanie had rounded up her belongings surprisingly fast. She moved at an inhuman pace, swiftly folding and storing all needed objects in her seemingly endless bag. Her blue gaze darted to Loki as she closed her bag. "We need shelter, no? Khajiit find shelter." A brief pause was followed by Lanie scampering outside and scouring the buildings around them. No...nothing good.

Gabriel shrugged, still smiling that insufferable little smile of his. "Hey, no hard feelings pal. Take a joke," he suggested, then strolled away. He was growing rather bored, and yet he couldn't leave for some reason. He felt as though it would be wrong.

Luiz turned his head as the man with the bow knelt and called to him. He considered walking away, but the friendly dog was cold and lonely. He couldn't do any tricks, so people forgot about him. Deciding to keep his mouth shut for now, he swiped away drool with a paw and waddled over to Clint, nosing his hand hopefully.

Millie didn't answer the Blaziken, she just floated over to the large building's door. The building itself was some sort of large warehouse, like something from Driftveil's cold storage. She had her doubts on how warm it would be. But at the very least, it would shelter them from the storm. However, when Millie tried opening the door, she found it was locked. She thought about kicking it down, but that outfit was even colder than this one. Besides, that seemed like such a violent solution to such a simple problem. She opted instead for the less brutish option of using her psychic powers to flip the lock on the inside. Then she slowly pushed the door open.

The inside of the building was mostly empty. There were some tiny Mincinno in one of the corners, but they hid as soon as she entered. She had been right about it being cold inside, especially with such a hard stone floor. But the Blaziken would provide heat, the building was simply to provide shelter. She happily danced in, doing a little twirl and exclaiming in excitement at finally being out of the cold.

Clint smiled as Luiz walked up to him. He rubbed the pudgy dog's head affectionatley. "What'cha doin' in this weather, lil' guy? Here," Clint unraveled the scarf around his neck and carefully wrapped it around Luiz. "There ya go. That's gotta count for somethin." He resumed petting Luiz after giving the dog his scarf. The purple strip of fabric was still warm because of being around Clint's neck.

Luiz' tail wagged rapidly as he was petted and given a scarf. It was nice and warm, a big improvement from the cold. He nuzzled the hand again, deciding he very much liked this person. And, because he couldn't resist, he replied enthusiastically, "Thanks man!"

Clint blinked in surprise at Luiz's words. The dog. Was. Talking. "Hey, Gabriel! Come see this! This little guy can talk!" He exclaimed. If anything, it made it even cooler to meet this dog. He continued to pet Luiz, his smile only growing wider. If only Natasha was here to see this... "Hey, you're welcome. What'cha doin' out in the cold anyways?"

Gabriel wandered back over and stood over the both of them, arching a brow. "Huh, never seen that before. Must be a really special dog," he said with a shrug. He could probably grant an animal the ability to talk, but he doubted they'd be smart enough to use it properly.

Luiz waddled closer to the man and his warmth, letting himself be petted as he rose up on his hind legs and steadied his front paws on Clint's knee. "Well, I dunno how I got here, but I met some pretty crazy people before. There was a nice lady but I think they left me, 'cause I don't see 'em no more. I don't have a place to go ," he replied sadly.

Clint's face softened as Luiz spoke. Poor guy. The archer of all people knew what it was like to be abandoned. "Don'cha worry, I won' leave ya. M'name's Clint." He decided. Slowly so he wouldn't startle the dog, Clint lifted Luiz up and held it in his arms. "I used to know a raccoon that was smart, but he didn't talk like you do."

Luiz wagged his tail again as he was lifted up, licking Clint's chin happily. It wasn't hard to win his affections, he was a very loyal dog after all. "My name's Luiz! I don't know any raccoons but I knew some birds once. I didn't chase 'em though. But I coulda," he chattered, happy to be with someone again.

Blaziken was about to offer himself to kick down the door, but closed his open beak as soon as she unlocked it.

I suppose that works too.

Blaziken followed the Meloetta into the warehouse. The cold from the inside of the warehouse did little to warm up the too souls. However, this cold was much more doable. Shutting the door behind him, Blaziken let out a small puff of fire from his mouth. This flame pounced on a nearby empty crate and set it aflame. Blaziken shook himself, bits of melting snow flecked out of his feathers. He looked around and sniffed. Already, he could feel the air around him warming up. Seeing that there were no holes or other open entrances to the outside, it seemed as thought the warehouse would warm up to a more comfortable temperature. With a huff, Blaziken nodded over to the fire.

"If you need to get warm quickly, you can go over and sit by that fire," he remarked. "This building should be warming up soon, so you don't have to. But, it would be better for your body if you did so." With that said, Blaziken plopped himself down next to the fire with his legs folded together. He gazed at the cackling fire as it consumed the lone crate.

Loki was a bit startled when she packed everything up in an instant then ran out to find shelter. Khajiit? Wasn't her name Lanie? He raised an eyebrow then turned to the door and walked outside. It didn't look as if they were being followed. But why was Clint not giving chase? The archer hated him and could see him walking free. Why just let that go?

"The Guardians?" Jack asked, raising an eyebrow. He hugged then shoved his hands in his pockets and kicked his feet. "Yeah, I know where they are. Or at least North. His factory is up in the North Pole. But I wouldn't get involved with them. They're no fun, always grumpy and conforming to schedules. No fun at all, I tell you." He waved a hand dismissively then looked away. "Besides, you need to fly to get there. I could carry you but you'd have to deal with frost bite. I've got cold hands. Or.... Sled ride. That could be interesting and fun."

Kerrigan arched a carapace-encrusted eyebrow, but said nothing. It came as no surprise to her that this creature was carnivorous. She had met to many primal zerg to be disgusted by their... tastes.

Primal zerg..

She stared unflinchingly into the golden eyes of the strange monstrosity perched before her.

This guy is rather like Dehaka

A rare smile cracked her lips, and she chuckled. "You remind me of an old friend." She stretched out an arm, heavy talons gleaming in the half-light of dusk. Her chest heaved as she breathed in. "He said nearly the same thing. An opportunist, destroying where he could to get stronger."She let out the breath, eyes closing. With a surge of mental energy she picked up the bench, it's twisted metal frame groaning and screeching as she bent it back on itself. Her forehead wrinkled with the effort. A final shuddering grind jerked the bench into a semblance of it's former shape. Her hand directed the bench to the ground, setting it with a gentle thud on the concrete. "It is probably best if we do not destroy the human's settlement. Even if this place is run by Valerian, I doubt they take kindly to monsters wrecking their home." Her eyes glittered as she reopened them. "After all, they started a war for just that reason." She turned her back on her visitor. Her eyes scanned the deserted streets for cars and passengers. Another flood of psychic energy, gentle but persistent, flooded the area. It touched the minds of many, animals and humans all blissfully aware of the intrusion on their mind. "As for where we are... " Kerrigan whispered. "I hear it is- "

It can't be. I must be-

She stopped short, her golden eyes widening.

It can't be!

She frantically retracted her telepathic field. Her mind huddled into itself, and her skeletal wings wrapped around her quivering body. "Earth."

The stranger snorted, his eyes gazing around the area.

"Impossible," he hissed as he scanned the surrounding zone. "This place is far too rural for Earth. If I came even in the direction of this planet, we would be surrounded by guards of all kinds. No, this cannot be Earth. At least, not the Earth I know of," The stranger flexed his claws back and forth, muscles rippling underneath his skin. A glimpse at the bench reformed from mental power caused the stranger to make a note of the woman.

She seems to have some form of telekinesis. Good to know, could come in handy should she ever try to attack me. A curious tilt of the head signified the stranger's wonder at why the woman had suddenly recoiled herself. The whispering of Earth seemed to have an effect on her.

"You don't seem to be in favor of this planet either," the stranger said, a slightly crazed grin taking form on his face. "I too should be worried about being on this planet. However, there seems to be something... off." The stranger let the last of his words wisp off his tongue as he glanced around him once more. There was something very off indeed. How did he get here? Why wasn't someone trying to stop him? Surely, someone knew he was here. Wouldn't killing him be a top priority right now?

Yes, it would be. But, if that's true. why aren't people trying to stop me?

She was a hero, so why had they sent her here? Where was here? Who were they? And how did they send her? And what was she going to do to get?

These were only a few of the questions racing through Jaina Solo's mind.

She was a hero. She was the galaxy's savior. She was the Sword of the Jedi. She had killed her brother to be those things. She'd given so much. And she'd been exiled to who knew where. She wasn't too worried though. Mom, dad, and uncle Luke wouldn't just let whoever was responsible get away with this. They'd fight to get her back. In the mean time she needed to survive. She used the Force to pull warmth into her body and help shield against the cold. Survival wouldn't be hard. She'd cut down hundreds, if not thousands, of Vong, flown more starfighter missions than she could count, and even faced off against a Sith lord and won. Surviving a non-hostile planet, even a cold one, would be a breeze. And the first thing she needed, was shelter.
