DESCRIPTION
This lineage is based on the 1997 movie 'The Fifth Element'. The movie uses the 4 elements (earth, wind, fire, water) combined with a 5th (divine light/life/love) to save the world from great evil.

CATEGORY DEFINITIONS *huge thanks to beachbeagle for all his help with these!*
EARTH - Dragons comprised of, resembling, or able to control rock, metal, and/or dirt, POSSIBLY residing in the earth. For example, a stone dragon is made of stone-like material AND eats rocks. Green dragons live within the caves AND have control over the earth.

WIND - Dragons comprised of gas or with a strong connection to weather or the cosmos. POSSIBLY those that spend a majority of their time in the air. For example, grey dragons land only to rest and eat AND they have control of the weather. Thunder dragons land only to sleep and breed. They get moisture from the clouds and control the weather.

FIRE - Dragons who control or are comprised of fire or electricity. Also those that resemble fire or the sun or which are controlled by or strongly tied to the sun. For example, magma dragons are coated in magma, live in volcanic regions AND are capable of withstanding intense temperatures. Sunsongs control light AND are controlled by the light.

WATER - Dragons who control or are comprised of water in either it's liquid or solid state. Also those that live the entirety of their lives in the water. For example, ice dragons form icicles on their skin, and can freeze a predator with their cold breath.

LIFE - dragons who rely on or are affected by a very specific part of nature, which must be different than the majority of other breeds. For example, a qualifier can not be that the dragon depends on living in the trees alone. But Pumpkin dragons would qualify because they live specifically in pumpkins AND can only be bred during Harvest time.

TERMINOLOGY
1. 'eligible dragon' is one that does not already carry the name of Element but meets the requirement to breed an 'elemental' egg.
2. 'Element'/'Elemental' refers to a dragon that DOES contain the name.
3. 'Leeloo' is another name for an even generation dragon where every CB dragon is a different breed. We currently have 2 milestones requiring 6 generations. Thanks to Xocowolf for the naming idea!
4. Milestones are goals we have come up with to help you earn gifts for participating. They are completely optional and not required of members in the lineage. There is a shortened version of what you can earn at the bottom of this post.
5. Full Circle refers to the date this lineage started, April 4. If a dragon was bred, stolen, hatched, or matured on April 4, it may include 'Full Circle' in its name.
6. Grandfather - request to be grandfathered in for a goal if you're close and want to be able to earn the original gift before the chart changes.
7. Trade Bait / Fodder - eggs or hatchies (not necessarily elemental) offered up for trade to the Cave at large in order to gain new Elemental eggs for the lineage.

Rational for Recent Additions:

The last paragraph tipped the vote to WATER for this breed.

Golden Wyverns: additional information from Verridith

The consensus was that they should be in EARTH since they are alchemists, which most considered an Earth Magic. It indicates a control of minerals. Thus, earth.

RULES
1. Eligible dragons either have ONLY the above eligible breeds in their lineage or are a CB of eligible breeds.

2. Please include some form of 'Element' in the naming newly acquired/bred dragons. If you have any questions about whether or not a dragon is eligible, let me know and I'll check for you. Due to limited character spaces, you may also use 5E in the name instead of Element.

3. Please no inbreeding, freezing, or killing.

4. Be willing to report/update on eligible dragons you're willing to breed and dragons you've named, and take requests for eggs when your scroll permits.

5. Please do not trade milestone gifts.

6. Milestone gifts are awarded according to the list at the time. As new members join, the statistics may shift.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE
Fill out the membership form then:

Option 1 - Pick up an eligible caveborn egg, give it an Elemental name, and post here using the form to register it.

Option 2 - Pick up an abandoned egg, research the lineage. If it's eligible, give it an Elemental name, and post here using the form to register.

Option 3 - Research your current scroll, find eligible dragons, breed them, give the new dragon an Elemental name, and post here using the form to register it. Please use a different color if you are registering dragons who grew up prior to 2012.

I know these milestones look complicated. No need to worry, you do not have to read and understand this first! You can register dragons and worry about the milestones later.
Basically, this is a system to reward *you* for achieving certain things: catching a certain number of dragons, or breeding dragons of certain lineages. You are *not* bound to doing only what we give rewards for. But sadly, we are not able to reward every kind of project you can do.
Below is a list of milestones, and the gifts you can earn for them. A shorter list can be found at the end of this post.

RECENT RULE CHANGES:
1. If the date your dragon grew up is BEFORE 1/1/12, please make it a different color than the rest so I can easily find them when adding to the old spreadsheet.
2. Please preview your registrations before posting to make sure each category is filled in correctly. When I register something without a name or breed or lineage, it's placed outside of the spreadsheet and not included in drawings.
3. 3-4th gen tinsels may be claimed for category 8 or 9 (CB silver or 2nd gen metal).
4. 5-6th gen tinsels may be claimed for category 7 (3+ gen metal).
5. 7-8th gen tinsels may be claimed for category 6 (alt vine).
6. 9+ gen tinsels may be claimed for category 5 (cb trio, cb tan).
7. Regarding the 800-1000 total Elements milestone...1000 will be the next number used, but since I hadn't reached that many when updates were made you guys weren't sposta reach it either . It won't officially become a milestone until they change again.
8. Regarding milestones and rare x rare breeding...If you're lucky enough to get a 2nd gen silver x gold, you can substitute another CB pair from your scroll whose breeds haven't been represented yet rather than requiring both a silver x common and gold x common pairing.
9. Members with over 100 registered Elements no longer need to use the 'lineage or CB' line when filling out registration info.
10. Please only count generations starting from the first Elemental (posting both 5E and DC numbers is fine).
11. *NEW* Please do not link your dragon's name to the lineage, it makes it difficult to copy/paste. Feel free to link it to breed or generation if you like.
12. When voting for new breeds for the lineage, 75% of the total voters must agree in order for the breed to be eligible.
13. Due to the recent changes in nebula categories (all 4 are now the same, no more alts), some milestones may be affected. For example, if these changes go in to effect and you used a category 6 milestone to claim an alt nebula, I'm willing to work with you to reinstate your alt vine request and use the neb elsewhere if we can. Also, this will affect milestone projects currently in progress so please let me know if you need to be grandfathered in (15 of a single breed, 4th even gen checkerboard, 6th even gen nonmetallic leeloo, 6th even gen metallic leeloo, 6th even gen all inclusive leeloo).

NEW MILESTONE GOAL SUGGESTIONS:
airaani - 5th even gen using four 3rd gens comprised of 1 breed from 4 different categories. So each 3rd gen has 4 CBs, and within that 3rd gen, each CB is from a different category.

Xocowolf - 5th even gen with 4 3rd gens, each comprised of 4 different CB breeds, but with each of those 3rd gens being all one category.

Triskelion - three-pronged lineage by attaching a 5-gen spiral to a 5-gens arrowhead, making a triskelion. I further restricted myself by using dragons associated with the night, though any breeds could be used. http://dragcave.net/lineage/M50aV "A Triskelion lineage is built off a 5-gen arrowhead configuration, proceeding another five generations in a spiral configuration starting with the child of the arrowhead, for a total of 11 generations. The dragons can be themed according to element, colour, three breeds, mixed breeds, three elements, two elements, checker or purebred; breeds used are not crucial and entirely at the breeder's pleasure and aesthetic taste."
ETA from airaani: both sides of the arrowhead must be the same length, and each must have at least 5 generations on your own scroll (this allows, for example, taking a couple 2nd gens other people have bred for you, and using those to begin the stairs, which must then be 6 gens long so that 5 are on your scroll)

deblogan - 4 3rd gens, one from each of four elements. Each 3rd gen is comprised of 4 CBs - each from a different breed within its element. So...essentially a Gaia lineage comprised of 4 of the 5 elements.

updating pumpkin list:
I know Halloween isn't for 4 months, but I'd like to organize some sort of sign up sheet this year for pumpkins so it's not as insane as last year. Especially now that we can only assure 1 of each clutch to our members. Personally, I want two 2nd gen pumpkins with an Elemental pygmy parent but to avoid inbreeding I'd rather swap with someone else. I also want at least 1 3rd gen, not sure if I want PB or not though. Maybe we can use forms for 'willing to breed' and 'requesting a breeding' with specifics of what you can breed and what you want bred, or establish trading partners or something. It's that time of year again, and it's time to get our rears in gear and get moving if we want to give gifts this year!

How to Participate:

The Santa Exchange: Wishlists! Now you can't just wish for anything willy-nilly. In order to make sure everyone can participate, we're going to set down some rules about your wishlist. Once all wishlists have been sent to me, they'll be noted down and the magic happens.
Your wishlist should be 5-8 (yes, up to 8) wishes and include:
• No more than 2 rares (metallic, low-gen tinsel, alt, holiday, ND)
• No more than 3 uncommonish (stripe, trio, tan ridgewing, black, CB BSAs, CB Vines)
• At least one common or bred uncommon
  AND PLEASE NOTE:
• If you ask for 2 rares, 2 uncommons, and 1 bred uncommon with a specific lineage, please also add a CB common at your 6th spot.
• If you know something is rare/uncommon but isn't listed above, don't try to sneak it in as a common just because it didn't make the list.

• How many do I have to give?
  Some people have more difficult lists than others. Please do your best to provide at least one item from their wishlist. You are of course welcome to give as many as you want!
• What do I do if my giftee's list is too hard?
  When people are matched up, I'll do my best to make sure lists are matched with people that have the means to attempt at least most of the wishes. If you are having trouble though, please PM me and I will do my best to help you find a trade or contribute towards a trade offer.
• What if I can't make it to the IRC meetup?
  We will be having an IRC gifting party on Sunday, December 18th at 6pm EST (cave time). If you cannot make this time, please contact me to arrange another transfer to your giftee.
• I have something I think they'll like but it isn't on their wishlist. Can I still gift it?
  Of course! But please also be sure to gift something off of their wishlist too, just in case.

If anyone has access to 3rd gen tinsels, I've seen some trades for CB metals you should pounce on . I can't help but think that if everyone weren't breeding metals like crazy to get inbred, tombstone, jacked up lineages, the cave would be raining metals more than it already is

This Gold Hatchy grew up on my scroll, where it was waiting to be transferred to another scroll.

But the hatchy from Joyous Gift can stay here till claimed, it is fogged, so that won't be any problem
