Jeff gladly took the sun umbrella as he climbed onto the camel. He smiled silently at Tia and shrugged as she ran off. Jeff was covered from head to toe in a light almost sand brown cloak. His hood was drawn over his cloak and he wore a air-tight pair of goggles over his eyes to protect them from the blowing sand. He brought two packs with him, one large one, full of water-filled containers, and a small one with food. Jeff grabbed the umbrella until he noticed that Kira needed it more. He walked his camel over to Kira's and slid the open umbrella into a slot on the saddle on the umbrella, covering her in shadow.

When Jeff moved over to her side, she looked over at him, though he would have no idea that she was glaring at him because her entire face was covered. Though when she noticed he was just placing an umbrella over her, she simply rolled her eyes, preferring to save her energy than waste on something like that. Perhaps even that gesture deserved some thanks, which she gave by not snapping at him. Things would greatly improve though if they left this godforsaken desert. Of course, knowing her luck, this monster they were going after would be in the middle of this desert. It was a good thing she prepared herself for this journey and that they were riding camels. That made it easier to conserve energy until they arrived where the beast was.

Eventually the sun began to set and Tia pulled them to a stop. "If you think the day's bad, the nights worse. We need to make camp before it gets cold." And she began to pull out some tents. "Group into groups of two." She tossed a tent to a few of them, and then pulled out a tent for herself. She glanced over to Zack and said "You can stay with me. I want to ask about some things...oh!!" She turned and pulled out some food and water and tossed everyone a bottle and a megre dinner which was mainly roots and vegtables.

Jeff caught one of the tents after he pulled his camel to a stop off to the side. After he caught the rolled up tent, Jeff looked around to see if anyone looked over asking with their eyes to bunk with him. When he didn't see anyone, Jeff shrugged and set the tent up with one flap open to let people know that the tent had room for another person. He yawned and rolled out his sleeping bag, too tired to care about eating anything. Jeff laid down and drank one of his many water bottles.

Kira slid off the back of the camel when Tia had them stop for the night. Off to the side, Kira sat down with her legs and arms crossed and her eyes closed. Though, she still wore her goggles so you couldn't tell if they were open or not. In this position she rested, though it was more like a meditation since she didn't need to sleep. The others probably minded the cold, but she welcomed it because it meant there was no sun that was trying to burn her to a crisp. Only problem was that the sun would rise again, which was also why she didn't remove anything since she would need it when the sun returned.

As for Zhiess, he caught one of the tents, and glanced at Sooty (who was probably very glad to get off the camels for a rest), wondering if she would mind sharing a tent with him. He smiled at her before beginning to set up the tent and see what she would do. After all, he didn't want anything to become awkward if he asked her if she wanted to share the tent with him.

The first response the man received from the shifter, when he asked about her well-being, was a quiet groan. She pushed herself upright in the saddle, swaying almost in time with the movement of the animal, and looked over at the elemental.

"This feels like that damned boat all over again," she whispered, before returning her gaze to the camel's neck.

Sore and still feeling sick, Sooty slid off of the camel, stumbling as her feet came into contact with the sand. The guide threw bags of tents and a meagre meal to the Slayer Teams, and she watched as Zhiess caught one. The cat caught the dry bread and roots, catching the elemental's glance at her. She lifted her chin, half-smiling at him, before unsteadily walking over to him as he set up the tent. She picked up a few things, looking at them as she wondered how to help.

"Uhm... What do I do with this?" Sooty asked, looking up at Zhiess and holding up something.

"Ah, that's a peg to keep the tent from blowing away," Zhiess answered her, and then with a small gust of wind, the tent was suddenly standing up. "Take those pegs and drive them into the ground at the tents four corners and then tie those ropes around them," he instructed, taking half of the pegs and began on the task. Once they were done, they had a nicely set up tent to protect them during the night.

"Um, ladies first," he held out his arm in a motion for her to enter into the tent ahead of him.

"Oh," the feline replied, glancing away. "I knew that. I was just testing you."

She picked up the small hammer and watched in surprise at the tent was pushed up by the wind. Sooty gave the elemental a look of admiration, before kneeling down at the nearest corner of the tent. She held the peg in place, hooking it through the ring of fabric, before tapping on it with the hammer. She repeated this for all four, pushing them as far into the sand as she could. Once they had finished, she stood back, smiling proudly. She had just helped put up a tent for the first time.

"Um, ladies first," Zhiess invited.

Sooty thanked him, before ducking through the fabric flaps and rolling out her sleeping blanket on the thin floor of it. Some grains of sand had already managed to make their way inside. She knelt on her blanket, running a hand through her shaggy hair, reminding herself that she needed to get it cut. It was nothing a pair of scissors or even a knife wouldn't fix, but she only had the latter on her, and she wasn't that desperate.

The ride on a camel was just as bad as riding the creaky old boat. Xtero had gone through the experience staring straight ahead with his jaw set, a sour look on his face. He was tired and the lack of eating much of anything was starting to bear him down, but he still didn’t feel hungry. When they finally stopped the Necromancer slowly slid off his ride, frowning even more as their little guide person told them to group into two. Like anyone would pair up with him; he’d rather sleep out in the sand anyway. Crossing his arms, he scowled, a few people already pairing up. He’ll just wait until everyone else was settled, he wasn’t going anywhere after all. He really should’ve just stayed behind; they could still get the job done without a Necromancer.

Jeff was staring at the ceiling of his tent when he realized no one has paired with him and doing the math, he should have at least one of the many people pair with him otherwise there will be two or so sleeping in the sand. Jeff pulled himself up and moved over to the flap in the tent and moved it as he practically crawled out. There were a couple of his companions out in the sand, the vampire and the necromancer are two that caught his eye. Jeff made his way to the vampire first, knowing the danger of one of her kind out in the desert and the off chance some of her many layers of clothing move during the night. Jeff kneeled in front of her and smiled. "Any chance you want to use my tent tonight? It will guarantee you protection from the sun. Rather then the 50% chance you will have out here. And I can sleep in the sand if you want the privacy, doesn't bother me."

Zhiess followed after Sooty into the tent, laying out his bedroll as well. He watched out of the corner of his eyes as she shook her hair out, and then sat down on his bedroll.

"Your hair is pretty," Zhiess mustered up the courage to say, trying to start a conversation so things wouldn't be awkward.

Kira took a deep breath after Jeff spoke to her, not bothering to move anymore than that. "I'll be perfectly fine," she replied, her tone cold as she preferred to not be bothered. If anything, she should be out hunting right now, but there was hardly a living thing around them, and she didn't feel like desperately searching for whatever might be out there. It was probably mostly lizards and snakes anyways, since no mammals could really thrive out there. It was bad enough already she had to be in the sun at all. Once this monster was dead, the better

Jeff shrugged. "Well suit yourself. It was just and offer." Jeff lifted himself up to standing again. He then moved onto the next person who he saw tent-less, the necromancer. As he approached, Jeff remembered that the necromancer doesn't speak in full constructed sentences, so he prepared himself to translate the phrases coming from the necromancer. As he approached, Jeff began to talk. "So, I see you are tent-less, any chance you want to pair up?"

Xtero had just been glaring at the sand at his feet when someone spoke. Blinking he gazed up, his dark eyes narrowing slightly, mostly from the light. He was being asked to pair up with this person who he really didn't even know? "Even lone wolves need a place to lay their heads, I suppose," the Necromancer murmured with a shrug. "Though the fleas continue to nip," he muttered under his breath afterwards, kicking a little sand. With his luck he'd probably just lie there awake all night staring at the ceiling. But at least it'd be better than just standing out in this sand box all day...

She tilted an ear toward him, her eyes widening as her head followed. She blinked as her cheeks darkened, tail curling slowly.

"Thank you," she grinned, only half-hiding her pleasure at the compliment.

After a day in the desert, and too long on a horrible ship, Sooty knew she wasn't looking her best, but the sentiment was nice.

She leant toward him, her fingers outstretched as she aimed to stroke them through the elemental's hair.

"I like yours, it looks really good at this length," she purred quietly, smiling at him.

His hair was longer than hers, and dark like the night of Lindon. Hers was black like the night of the desert.

The cat sat back, stretching her legs over her makeshift bed as she looked cheekily at Zhiess, from below her eyelashes.

Zhiess blinked in mild surprise when Sooty started to run her hand through his hair, saying she liked it too at its length. He had to admit, he was quite flattered, and he was pretty sure she was really flirting with him. Though, he was slightly flirting with her besides just trying to make her feel better.

"Thanks," he replied with a smile, watching as she sat down on her bed with this look in her eyes. He was pretty sure he knew what it meant, maybe. But he did plan to find out and take advantage of the situation.

(*Is lazy*)

The morning came, and long before it Tia was calling everyone awake with Zack's help(She was very quiet). "Alright up you get" Zack shouted. "We've got to get moving before it's midday. We should reach the oasis if we're lucks and refill our supplies. Also, Don't touch the purple scorpions." He turned and then went to pack his stuff. They waited, ready, with the sun just about to rise, for the others to.

The sun hadn't even come close to peeking over the horizon when they were called to waken. The quiet voice of their guide, followed by the louder one of the fallen angel, caused Sooty to grumbled sleepily as she opened her eyes. She stroked her fingertips over one of the arms around her, snuggling closer to the elemental.

"Good morning," she murmured to him.

After a few minutes of lying still, she untangled herself gently and moved to get dressed. She gathered her supplies and belongings from the tent around her, rolling up her bed-mat and waiting for Zhiess to do the same. She grinned at him, winking, before leaving the tent and wandering over to her camel. She recognised it, but just barely, because most of the smelly animals looked the same. Sooty walked back over to the tent, intending to help pack it up, and pulled a bit of dried meat from her pack to eat for breakfast while she helped.

Another night had come and gone, and yet Xtero still didn't sleep. He tried very hard to get himself to, but every time he thought about it or closed his eyes longer than a blink his stomach churned sickeningly, causing him to force his eyes open again. He had been rather restless too, rolling over to one side, then three minutes later the other, then on his back staring up at the ceiling. A few times he just got up and went outside despite it being cold. He even tried eating something, but ended up gagging and spitting it out on the ground outside. When the little rays of sunlight just barely reached out over the horizon Xtero was laying on his back staring at the ceiling, looking more exhausted and pale than he had when he got off the boat.

He heard a few people up and about already, so with a small sigh Xtero pulled himself back up to his feet and wandered outside. He had nothing to pack really since he didn't take anything out, and he was covered in sand but he didn't even notice. Eyes half closed the Necromancer looked around watching some waking up the others and packing up. Shivering slightly the man wrapped his arms around himself, blowing a strand of white hair from his eyes. The hood of his cloak slipped down during the night and his short but growing and neglected hair was all over the place. Xtero didn't even notice, too busy wondering if he'll get to sleep on the camel during the day. His stomach disagreed, leaving the Necromancer feeling queasy again. Once he got some sleep he'll force down some sort of food; he couldn't go through this entire trip without eating anything. Yet it'd be a waste spitting it all back up...

Shivering once more the Necromancer moved to a spot where he would be out of the way, watching everyone else waking up.

After everyone awoke, asnd was reay they set out. Tia gazed to the sun for a few moments and then motioned with her reigns for the camel to turn slightly to the left. As they travelled the only upside was that the sun, while bright, lacked any warmth for the first hour. And then it became an oven once more. Tia didn't seem to mind, born in this land. Zack meerly shaded himself with his wings and gave up any useless effort. And then she paused and got off the camel at high noon and felt the ground. She stood and walked a few steps forward and then tapped the ground and jumped back as it colapsed inward, revealing the gaping mouth of a small, but long cave. Pulling off her gear, she replaced it with some warmer gear, and motioned for Zack to do the same. Pulling out a stick she pitched the camels and said "This may be a one way trip for some of us. Lets go." And she quickly headed into the cave before the heat got through the clothes.

Zhiess replied with a good morning to Sooty's when they were awoken, the morning seeming like a very good one indeed. He then set about preparing to head out on their way, smiling back when Sooty winked and smiled at him.

They were then on the camels again to where ever they were suppose to be going, out in the hot desert sun. When they stopped, Tia opened the way to a cave which she quickly entered. Probably to escape the heat that was beating down on them.

Kira quickly followed after as well, preferring to get out of the sun and not have to be under its harsh rays any longer. She wondered if their target was inside this cave. If it was, that would make fighting easier for her, since she wouldn't have to worry about the sun just in case if any of her clothes ripped.

Zhiess offered to help Sooty off her camel when they stopped since he knew how she got motion sickness from riding them. At least they would be able to get out of the sun now.

As soon as everyone was up they were moving again, back onto the camels and across the sand once more. Xtero had pulled the hood of his cloak over his eyes again, shielding himself from the blistering sun that finally showed its face to them as the morning grew. From the heat and the exhaustion of not eating or sleeping for the past day or so the Necromancer found himself with a rather obnoxious headache that remained with him, even after he nodded off a few times. When the camels stopped Xtero lifted his head, blinking his dark eyes as he watched the others getting ready to enter a cave in the sand. Slowly he got off the creature he was riding, rubbing his head gingerly before looking up again, seeing the others going into the cave, so he quietly followed after them.

The sickening, rolling motion of the camel's walk put a damper on things throughout the day, and Sooty was glad when the damned thing stopped. She gave a half-hearted grin as thanks to the gentlemanly elemental as he helped her off of the camel, who had lowered itself to the hot sand. She put an arm around his shoulders, after pulling her belongings off of the animal, and walked with him into the cave. The temperature dropped significantly once they were in the darkness, and her eyes struggled to adjust.

"One way trip?" she frowned at their guide. "Do you mean the monster's in here?"

Her ears tilted back and she twitched her tail uncomfortably, gazing into the dank black of the hole-in-the-ground. She didn't like caves at the best of times.

Tia pulled out a glowstick, and a green loom surounded them, she turned and said "Yes. However...No, nevermind. I doubt we will encounter it here." She turned and headed out, tossing everyone a glowstick and saying "If you get lost, bad luck I'm afraid." Walking through the carvern, slowly descnding, she tok a left and right and then another right and paused. A hollow growling sound resounded through the caverns.

He growled; a low, rolling sound that echoed through the caves and made the prey, that had stupidly entered his lair, nervous. His ears tilted forward, and his long tongue curled around his lengthy fangs. His tail, held low at the present time, scraped along the walls and rocky floor, grating against the stone. His light brown hide did nothing to hide him from the oncoming light that the group held, but he crouched in wait. He could hear them, smell their sweat and the strange scent of the animals they had arrived on. He shifted his weight, sinking below the rocks and curling his tail over his back, ready to strike when the moment came.

The Pharaoh chuckled; it was a harsh, grating noise that would send chills down any sane creature's spine.

"Here, kitty, kitty..." he growled. "Come to me, little birdy... Are you afraid, creature of the night...?" He scraped his hard tail-tip against the wall beside him. He scented the air blowing through the caverns. "Why are you with this filth, takers of souls... You are in a bad place, benders of the elements; there is no water for you here..." There was one last, a scent tinted with madness and death. "Little necromancer... You will fall with the dead you command..." A cold grin wrinkled his muzzle, waiting to receive the responses from the group.

Jeff felt like he was watching a movie rather then actually being in his body. He saw the group all wake and rise and Jeff helped put the tent back together and pack up. He began to start walking to the camel and packed it. After getting on the camel, Jeff just let it follow the rest of the group. When the lead camel stopped, Jeff pulled his camel to a stop and got off quietly. He followed the rest of the group inside and was sad when he head a low growl. Jeff stood his guard and was painfully reminded about the fact that there was absolutely no water. Jeff sighed and let his shoulders hunch over.
