Abyss Watcher Breeding Plans and Discussion

I used to see threads after every Holiday release about what we'd like to breed with the Holiday dragons! So I'm going to make this one, if only because my breeding plans are going to be slightly delayed due to my other Halloween dragon lineages.

 

So here's a few starting ideas 😄

 

M Abyss Watcher x F Labradorite - I love the differences in pose! I think the shininess of Labradorites also make for a good contrast with a bit of the glow.

M White Astrael x F Abyss Watcher - Probably my favorite Astrael with them.

 

Really, I think they have such a nice color scheme that they work well with a lot of dragons, but I won't spam screenshots haha. What are your personal favorite lineage ideas?

Lotaan, astralophyne, mistra, blue sapphire, and very specifically m abyss x f aqualis!

I'm definitely looking at Lotaans. Similar colours & they're both long and wriggly deep sea creatures.

I couldn't resist trying to breed one (male AW) with my favourite noodle the oracle wyrm (F) and it was oh-so-pretty  The egg got autoabandoned so I can't post it here but I think you all can imagine it!

I bred a Female AW with a Tetra because they have similar codes and similar names, and I really like it ! 

 

Not sure what I'll breed the males with, yet, but I'm tentatively looking at Spinels, Thalassas, Diamondwings, Wisterias, Skystriders, Sapos, and/or Moonstones.  Additional ideas for female AWs that I want to test include Pyropes, Crystallines, SiniiKrai, pink Sapphires, blue or aqua Gemshards, and maybe blue Zyus.  (Sure wish we could have CB Ceriuths...) 

 

ETA: @Caileh, you may not be the first to think of Oracles; I just caught this in the AP! 

 

ETA2: Tried a couple more!  AW x Spinel is a definite winner, while Pyrope x AW I'm less sure about - I was hoping to match the lighter splotch on the back of the AW, and while the Pyrope is a good match for the color, it might overpower it instead of amplify it.  I think I'll have to see this one in a multi-generation checker before I can really tell if it's working.

I have so many ideas for these guys! Mostly, I love them with pink and blue colored dragons (especialy light blues). Moonstone and Elux Lucis are my current favorites.

I bred one of mine with a female Jaw Splitter, I wasn't sure if it would work but I actually kind of like it more than I expected. I am biased towards the jaw splitters though, so that may be why.

that Lotaan pairing is really aesthetically pleasing….. I was thinking either Thalassa or Aso Xeno would look pretty with the Abyss Watcher personally, but I haven’t bred anything with the Abyss watchers yet…..

but those are 2 breeds I’m thinking of 🤔
