Has anyone done any breeding yet with the new HookTalon?

I did a PB 4th gen. And this is part of a mixed lineage I'm planning. My favourite combination by far is m Hooktalon x f Bloodscale, but I can't get a Bloodscale egg for a checker...

I bred about 75 of my CB Split couples to the AP today, so if anyone needs some nice eggs just keep an eye out for them.

 

I was also very pleased this week to pick up an AP egg and find that my dragons were its grandparents. Its father was the product of one of my previous breeding sprees. http://dragcave.net/lineage/aUHbk

I really like them, although I kind of miss the derpy-looking hatchies.

I just picked up a very nice even gen 4 PB original Split in the AP last night that is unrelated to any of mine. It is silly how thrilled I get at finds like that.

 

In spite of all the love expressed for the new sprite in the news thread, and all the people saying they would collect them now, I am still finding CBs in the AP, too.

The Hooktalons are exclusive pairings, i will not mix them up on request.

I breed these Hooktalon pairings allmost every week so if you want to have an egg from a particular pair it is likely they are on cooldown when you request it. Patience is a virtue.

 

 

I name all my dragons, naming their offspring is appreciated.

Any Z code egg my dragons produce i may decide to keep, or donate to the Z project.

Of course, if you are already a Z-member you would get it if I am not keeping it (You can always decide to become a Z-member in witch case the same applies and you would get dibs before i will post it on the Z forum).

This means if you are not, and don't want to be, a Z member i will breed another pairing or, if you insist on a particular pairang, again a week later (and again if that one is also a z).

Yikes! I can't believe how badly I have neglected this project. I keep meaning to update the website and all, but haven't found the time, yet. Sorry to all who are waiting to be listed.

 

I came here to announce an exciting personal achievement. I have reached 10 gen with my purebred Split even gen personal project!

 

I am hoping to eventually take it to one more generation and I have almost all the dragons already on my scroll to breed up to that. I only need 42 more CBs (or the equivalent in higher gens). It is going to take me a lot of breeding to get there, though, because except for one gen 4 and one gen 5, the highest I have among the rest are third gens! I keep having to reject nice 2nd and 3rd gen eggs that I find in the AP because I already have the CB generation in my lineage.

And we have yet another two-headed dragon in the cave! Nexus dragons are beautiful! Does anyone have breeding plans for them? Will you go purebred or mix them with others?

 

I think they will go well with the Hooktalons, both visually and personality-wise.

I think the website will have to be adjusted with the new breeds, too. Color coding for the breed is getting pretty hard, so I think somehow a column will need to be added, or some other sort of code figured out. *sigh again*

I was actually thinking about putting the website on a wiki, but only if everyone is comfortable with editing Wiki-type pages. I use Wikidot.com for a lot of my projects. If not, I'll leave it as is. Color scheme would definitely need an update/adjustment

 

I'm not sure what my breeding plans are for them yet. I have so many breeding irons in the fire I can't keep up with them all, lol. I can't even remember the last time I bred my splits. I guess that means it's time I do so.

I'm thinking of breeding the Nexus Dragons with Duotones, since they both have kind of a split personality. They might also go well with the original Splits (at least the new sprites look bulky enough to defend themselves against the Nexus if need be ).

*sigh* I really do need to get back to this and do some updating! I just keep putting it off because all the new breeds kind of threw off the way I was doing the website. I need to come up with a new system and get it done!!!

I am beginning to get ready to start updating the webpage.

 

I will be adding a column for each male and female dragon with a code for their breed. The color coding system just will not work as we get more two-headed breeds -- there are just not enough colors that can be easily distinguished when used for the font color.

 

I will be beginning with my own page to try to come up with something that works and then moving on to adding pages for the new people who have posted here, but were never entered. Finally I will update pages for the people who are already on the website. As a preparation for that I will be sending out PMs to all listed breeders to check for continued activity and interest. Please, if you get one of those PMs in the coming weeks, reply to it as quickly as possible. People who have not replied within a certain amount of time will be removed!

 

Right now I am considering which one or two letter codes to use for each breed.

D = Duotone

G = Gilded Bloodscale

H = Hooktalon

N = Nexus

PL = Purple 2-headed Lindwurm

GL = Green 2-headed Lindwurm
