I recently released a 3rd gen Sweetling from Sweetling x Red stairstep. I did it because I needed a Sweetling mate for a 2nd gen silver. So, that person might have needed a different pairing for a mate or another similar reason.

It's possible their scroll was burnt and that's why their dragons ended up in the wilderness.
