Posted January 2, 2022 (edited) Current Competition Season: March 1st to April 30th Well, technically a two-for-one project: there are two distinct lines, but both use the same breeds. The goal of this project is to improve the ratios for both breeds, making other projects involving them less frustrating for breeders. As such, there is some element of competition--those who breed the most offspring in a given season will win various prizes. The first season of competition will be announced only once things start rolling and many people have project dragons, to make for a more even playing field. The first, "Steamed My Hams", is a even gen line with male Cloudplumes and female Elux Lucis. Project dragons must be descended from the original pair SEYMOUR HELP and Just The Northern Lights, and any project children resulting from the line must be even gens that only use Cloudplumes and Elux Lucis, with a preference for checkerboard/alternative checker lines where possible. The second, "Song Into Power", is a stair/spiral line with male Elux Lucis and female Cloudplumes. Project dragons are only descended from original pair Lyuma Bengnuih and Zarle Siann oz Quesa, and their mates should be caveborn dragons of the breed they are not. (So a bred Cloudplume should be mated with a CB Elux Lucis.) Rules are generally lax--the goal is to make these two breeds less dominant in ratios--so the guidelines noted are only relevant if you plan on gifting your dragon's offspring in the thread! (I do encourage doing so at least once, however--pass on the love!) There is no naming scheme or even naming requirement, though I am willing to help with naming for Song Into Power kids if you want to keep the theme going. The only request is that you not kill or Bite any dragons from the project, as that defeats the purpose. There is no ban on inbreeding, but I will be prioritizing giving eggs from a line to people who don't have any yet. All participating scrolls and dragons will be recorded in a google doc. Posted February 8, 2022 With Valentine's on the horizon, I just want to note that breedings from me, personally, will be delayed until after all Valentine dragons are cleared from the AP (likely by a while, since i tend to hatchling-lock myself). Posted February 24, 2022 With the Valentines chaos thoroughly over, I'd like to announce the first competition season! All lineage eggs hatched and submitted to the thread between March 1st and April 30th will be tallied up, and whoever gets the most when that period ends will receive a 2g Gold Shimmer from the female Holiday of their choice. If we have four or more competitors, I will add a 3g Shimmer from one of my lines or a 3g from one of these two altkin. (note that the altkin do not have mates that continue their lines as EG, if that's important to you.)
