That's cool. I've cooked up a couple, dunno which you're in the mood for. I'm thinking we just do Rain and Tony to begin, maybe our other characters with more cameo roles for now?

1. We start where we left off, where Rain's about 17 or so. She's still learning how to be a proper hero. Tony faces his own demons, in that he isn't sure if all that he does is right. Maybe the panic attacks could come in, alcohol, etc. I'm not sure about particulars for this one. Perhaps they could go on holiday somewhere and find themselves in a survival situation in the middle of nowhere, no tech, etc. Maybe kidnapped by the original group from 1st movie (can't remember which group it was and stuff ugh)?

2. These are reboot ideas. Hear me out:

(a) We redo the original way in which they become so close. Basically the same as the first time we did it. Could be interesting as that was two years ago, and we're both more mature now. I'd play Rain a little differently as such.

(B ) I'm not sure what you'll think of this one, buuut... I do sort of ship a young Tony with Rain (her 17, him a bit older maybe 20-25 or so) in a romantic sense. Please don't kill me ;-; This would be before his Iron Man stuff. He'd be a bit messed up I guess with his parents having recently died, party boy, etc. He's working on an impossible invention - a portal. And he gets through, Rain somehow tumbles in, angst ensues with a similar arc to the first one (kills parents somehow, maybe even without a villain...). We could RP the middle east situation from first movie, or change how he becomes Iron Man. Have a young Batman, Ivy, Wolvy, Mystique, etc...

This one could also work without the romance, more brother and sister if you didn't want it.

Personally I'm leaning toward a reboot, especially 2b. But I get that maybe you just want to continue where we left off and that's cool too. smile.gif

*waits excitedly!*

Whew, that's a lot of ideas! Personally I don't mind if we change their relationship, just as long as in this one they were never father/daughter to begin with. I don't think trying to pick up where we left off would work out so well. I'm all for 2b though.

Nonono of course not! We can leave that one untouched, we may even want to go back one day smile.gif

Yay! 2b it is! Should Rain still be in a different universe? Might make the whole living in his house thing easier, and bring in a young Batman.

We could also make her in the same universe too, I guess involving Tony's life somehow which will make the whole meeting thing much easier... maybe some sort of mutant testing facility hmm...

I feel like trying to have both universes would be tricky when it's just the two of us. Maybe instead she's from Marvel, but I don't know how she would meet a young Tony. Perhaps she's an advocate for mutant rights and approaches his father at an event trying to get celebrity support, and ends up meeting Tony?

mmm... that's an idea there.

I'm thinking Magneto takes her in. So she has a villainous aspect to her. Only thing is that her personality is still the same - meek and mild, gentle. Doesn't like killing and such, which is why she's more doing the diplomat stuff. Maybe forced by Magneto to threaten Tony's dad if he doesn't comply, blood bending or something. But she doesn't like it.

I really like your idea for starting! Would you like to set the scene, when you're ready~? Or if you don't agree with something, we can discuss more tongue.gif

(I have messaged shad though, maybe she'll turn up tongue.gif in which case we'll see what happens)

Tony hated these stupid events. Hated dressing up in a monkey suit to be put on display. These people didn't care about him, they just wanted his family's money. The people who were interested in his brains were just plain annoying- always pestering him, wanting to know how he did it, what it was like. At 16 years old, tony stark didn't want to be asked about his future in the company or his college experience. He wanted to go out and party and drink with the other kids his age. And meet hot chicks, but this event was no place for that. It was all gross, old, rich people.

The teenager fumed quietly in a corner, drinking Coke because the bartender had been warned that he would try to drink alcohol. He just wanted out of this stupid place.

Her heels clicked against the ground as she stepped out of the car, smiling at the chauffeur who had opened the door for her. A moment later, a man joined her side. He was rogueishly handsome, in his mid-30s. The name he went by tonight was Mark. Not his real name, Eric, or his chosen name, Magneto. No, he would not give himself away.

The girl, young and just about 16 or 17, nervously smiled at the flashing lights. This red cocktail dress made her feel like a piece of meat. It was the right colour too. After a moment's hesitation, Eric put a hand gently on her lower back and steered her in. "Remember what you have to do," he purred in her ear, smiling for the cameras. With the smallest nod of her head, he whisked her inside and past security. Their IT guys had gotten them passes to this exclusive event - hosted by none other than the Stark family.

She hesitated again, as they were met by a live orchestra's music. All around them, famous and wealthy people were socialising, looking at various pieces of art that were up for auction.

Rain, the girl, swallowed.

"Find him. If you can't find him, find his son and have him lead you there. If you can't persuade Stark, then do what you have to."

Even if that means losing myself?

She glanced sideways, at Eric as he smoothly began to mingle with some other distinguished guests. Focus time. If she was able to find Stark and persuade him to support their cause, then perhaps mutants could eventually be accepted in society. Maybe then her parents would love her again, and she could go home.

((His parents die when he's 21. If we eventually want to do that, will we just change that to suit us?

ooh, just realised that's legal drinking age in the us...that's very interesting.))

(We could change it, or just change the ages we just wrote down. Either way)

Tony sighed to himself, giving a fat old man a baleful look until the teen was sure he wouldn't be coming over to talk to him. The investors were being particularly greedy tonight, he noted, and he wanted nothing to do with them. If he could just find manage to find a break in the crowd- and the attention he was still somehow getting- he could probably slip out.

Someone next to him was talking to him about something; he gave her his most fake smile, which was more of a grimace than anything, and was about to comment when something caught his eye in the crowd.

"Well hello, gorgeous," he muttered under his breath. This party just got ten times better. Without even announcing his departure, Tony walked away from the chattering woman, threading his way through the crowd until he approached the beautiful young thing in the cocktail dress.

"You must be lost, to be stuck in a dump like this," he greeted casually.

((Hmm, what age would you be willing for Tony? I don't mind making Rain like 18?))

Rain twirled a piece of her poker straight hair around her finger, biting her lip as ahe surveyed the crowd. To be honest, this really wasn't her. She didn't like wearing this dress, or being in this atmosphere. It felt... uncomfortable. But it was something she had to do.

Luckily, her work was done for her - the young Tony Stark was heading her way, and he looked pleased to see someone his own age. She couldn't blame him; these people didn't look like much fun. But she felt nervous - he was handsome, and charismatic. The girl had been kicked out of her house at 13 for her powers; there hadn't been much time for boys, even after Magneto had taken her in for his cause.

Phew. Stay calm. Her heart was beating a staccato rhythm in her chest, and she doubted her ability to speak for a moment. But she had to.

"No, not lost. My uncle insisted I came along to help him pick out a painting," she said, smiling at him. "I don't think we've met before; I'm Rain." After a moment, she shyly offered her hand for a handshake. That was how Magneto had taught her...

(That sounds good to me. 18-19)

Tony turned up the charm, offering her a grin as he took the hand and proceeded to kiss it. He knew exactly how to get a woman going- or at least, he liked to think he did. Truthfully he was just a cocky little rich boy who figured no one could resist him.

"Tony Stark. Though I must say, your uncle is an idiot. If he wanted something pretty for his wall, he could just hang a picture of you." He puffed his chest out a little, wondering if his act was working on her. Maybe he'd get lucky tonight.

Rain felt her cheeks heat up at his smooth line; what she'd heard about Tony was certainly true. The way he pulled her hand close made her slightly self-conscious though - she hoped he hadn't seen the scars on her arms. They were covered up by make up for the most part, but they were still there.

She giggled softly, took her hand back to herself. He was a charmer, and he knew it all too well. It was a strange feeling, being flirted with. Made her stomach feel as if it was filled with butterflies...

"Do you enjoy these events?" she asked, tilting her head slightly as she looked at him. The brunette glanced at the bar, a slightly sneaky smile overcoming her lips. "There must be good champagne, no?" Oh, she'd heard about his underage drinking... Not that she hadn't gotten drunk once or twice before. It was a free for all in general at Magneto's place.

((I don't want this version of her to have the healing; it's a bit too overpowered methinks. and it removes angsty situations o3o))

Tony was too busy trying to impress the pretty girl to notice her scars. Not at all surprising; he had a small attention span at times. One of the cons of an overactive mind. And, speaking of impressing pretty girls, he could tell his smooth talking was working on her. Awesome.

His expression soured at her question. "I hate them. I feel like I'm being put on display like some kind of show pony," he grumbled, scowling at the nearest group of fat cats. She was right about the champagne, but it was pointless. "The bartenders know not to serve me because I'm underage. Like my dad actually cares whether or not I'm drunk, he just doesn't want to be 'embarrassed'." He added air quotes, obviously displeased. If he could drink at this party, he wouldn't be coherent anymore.

Rain nodded sympathetically. He had the opposite of the situation she used to have. His parents wanted to show him off. Hers had tried to hide her away, before they'd become too scared and...

Disgusted.

Her heart gave an awful pang, and her smile faltered. They both had family problems, didn't they? So often, the media skewed reality. She'd done her research, and the Starks had appeared to be a relatively happy family. Glancing to the bartender again, she had a thought.

"Where's your father? Perhaps I can... work around him," she suggested, words catching breathily in her throat.

This isn't me.

Now Tony gave her a strange look. "You... Want to talk to my dad?" His heart sank. There went his chances with this girl. Who knew, maybe she wasn't even interested him in the first place. Had her uncle really put her up to finding Howard Stark? Tony raked a hand through his hair, shrugging as though he didn't care when he did. People his own age were more interested in his father than him, apparently. Fantastic. "Sure, whatever. Good luck trying to convince ol' pops," he said in a joking tone, taking her arm and pulling her through the crowd before she could argue.

Rain opened her mouth to reply - no, she hadn't meant that. A brief look of hurt had crossed his face. No, she didn't feel right using him like this, even if she'd phrased it wrongly and he was taking her to him. The girl stopped walking, gently held onto his arm. "I didn't mean it like that; I didn't want him to see in case I could get us some," she murmured, a slightly mischievous smile playing on her lips.

Tony stopped and looked at her, brows knitting together. Why did she even care? Was she changing his mind because of him? Or did he misunderstand and overreact? If that was the case... Then he was an idiot and he was blowing his chances with this girl.

"Well, in that case, we won't have much trouble. Dad doesn't really care what I do at these things, so he won't be breathing down our necks," he replied, letting go of her arm. "You really think you can get us some booze, huh? I'd like to see that."

Rain smiled shyly, grabbing her wrist with her other hand in a self-conscious stance. Okay, she hadn't done stuff like this before. But it was harmless, right? "I'll try," she said, voice dropping to being quiet. That was it. No promise, no bravado - she wasn't completely sure of her abilities. "Wait here."

The brunette headed toward the bar, and eventually caught the attention of the bartender. She ordered two champagnes but - "ID please." No, this would be okay. She would succeed. Instead, she ordered two Cokes, and when the bartender's back was turned - her hands, clasped in front of her, moved ever so slightly. So did her fingers, and her head tilted to one side - whisky flew out of the nearest bottle and into each Coke. She nervously took the drinks, thanking him and turning around to walk quickly back to Tony. "Whisky and coke," she said breathlessly.

Rain hoped no-one had seen that. Mutants weren't tolerated by all people - she knew that better than anyone.

Tony watched her walk away and then sighed, loosening his tie. What was his deal? The girl, he had to focus on the girl. She wasn't interested in his daddy issues. Hopefully she had missed his insecurity a few minutes ago and was still in awe of his awesomeness.

Ha. Or not.

Ashe turned back to see how she was progressing, he was startled to see she was right in front of him. "You're kidding," he snorted, taking a sip. But there it was- whiskey. He gave her an impressed look, sipping again before speaking. "Good looking and talented. Are you single, Rain?" He waggled his eyebrows at her.

((Oh Tony xd.png))

Rain blushed, ducking her head with a soft laugh as a hand came to cover her mouth. Not just because of his forward statement - those eyebrows were quite something else. Very funny, actually. Hand drifting back down to her side, she grinned nervously at him as she took a sip. The girl hadn't had whiskey and coke before - it tasted quite alright, actually... Maybe a bit too much whiskey though; it was pretty strong.

"Tony, may I ask you a question?" she suddenly asked, out of the blue. No use in dancing around this - and she could test the waters. Hopefully he held a similar opinion to his father... "What do you think about all this mutant stuff going on at the moment?"

Tony couldn't help himself. If she was single, that stunned him, because she was something else. The whole shy girl thing was incredibly appealing too- it was cute. Even if she didn't want to fall into bed with him, maybe he could convince her to stick around. She seemed fun.

The question threw him for a loop, however. First he was complimenting her, now they were talking about mutants. He scratched his head, considering the question. "Uh... To be honest I haven't been paying attention. I don't really care." Realizing how blunt that sounded, he quickly amended, "I mean I don't care if they're around. Mutants, that is. Who wouldn't want to use superpowers, if they had them? The government just likes to stick it's nose in everything."

Rain observed him for a moment mutely, then simply nodded slowly as she took another sip from her alcoholic drink. So, he was undecided. She wondered if his beliefs mirrored those of his father. Perhaps not, but... She glanced over her shoulder at the bar; it felt as if someone was staring at her. An older woman quickly snapped her gaze away, muttering something to an older man beside her. They had been nearby when she'd done her little trick.

Oh, censorkip.gif.

Magneto was glancing over at her too, checking what she was up to. He too had noticed the people who had started to look at her. Had they seen her use her powers? Older people tended to be less tolerant of mutants; some were downright hateful. It was like Salem all over again.

"Why do you ask?" Tony wasn't entirely sure, but she seemed offended. Had he done that? It didn't really make sense that his opinion should offend her unless she was a mutant, but he didn't consider that as a possibility.

"I mean, I don't actually know any mutants, so it's hard to... Hey, are you okay?" She looked spooked as hell. Frowning, he put a gentle hand on her shoulder. Why was she so freaked out? "I know I can be so beautiful to look at it hurts, but there's no need for that face..."

"I just... needed to know," Rain admitted. She hadn't expected to actually like Tony Stark. She jumped as he put a hand on her shoulder; she hadn't seen him, having been looking over at the bar again. To be honest, she expected security to come over any moment now and take her away. It was lucky that Magneto was here with her.

She chuckled nervously at his joke, returning her attention to him once more.

"I'm a little bit of an activist. What do your father's friends think about mutants, if you know? I may have made a comment over there that offended." It was almost true, wasn't it? Or so she tried to tell herself.
