"Nitori...?" It was a rhetorical question. Rale watched her as she just nodded. He lay down beside her in silence.

Kuriko was happy to be useful. "The cabe is over this way," He said, "Not very far." He took a few steps in the direction of the cave, then turned back to watch the others, waiting for them to follow.

Energy quietly followed Kuriko, trying her hardest not to be slow. Ugh, she hated her injury. The Numbweed or Numbstalk or Numbwhatever was wearing off by now.

"Well, let's go then," he said aloud, mostly for himself and Nitori.

((Thinking of adding another character on here, been looking through the new DC dragons and the dragons that have been accepted and I've been thinking of making another. [for some reason I like the Drool Wurm it just looks so cute to me ]))

 

 

Nitori

 

Ic;; Nitori turned her violet gaze away from Kuriko and back to Rale Rock right after she looked at Energy Twinkle for a while. Flicking her tail, she replied with another nod before glancing away to eye Kuriko when he wasn't looking. Even though he probably knew she disliked him, she didn't want to show it too much around the other hatchlings. The noise of the heartbeat quieted down a little as she stumbled along after Kuriko and Energy Twinkle, stuck on why she bonded with Rale Rock and yet not Energy. Energy did chase or whatever you call it to get the banshee away from them and yet she bonded with Rale, was it because he stood over her to protect her? It was only his instinct that made him do that..., so why did she bond with him and not Energy Twinkle?

Kuriko walked carefully, and when they finally reached the cave, he pointed it out. The opening wasn't much bigger than the hatchlings, but inside it was spacious enough for all of them to fit with room to spare. "This is it," He said, turning to look at the others.

Energy was exhausted from the walk. Her wound didn't help much. She just nodded in thanks towards Kuriko and flopped down at the back of the small cave. Originally, she would have been disappointed with the size of it but right now, she didn't care. Soon, she was lost in her dreams.

Rale Rock waited until everyone had entered first before entering himself. He looked at Kuriko and nodded.

 

"A little small but will do. Nice job on finding this," he smiled at Kuriko.

Kuriko nodded. "Until we grow to big, this place is perfect," He said, then added with a smile, "And when we grow, we will be better able to defend ourselves from adv- I mean, enemies"

Nitori

 

Ic;; Before she left the lotus pond and headed after Kuriko, she spotted the patch of numbweed and quickly cut some of the stalks for Energy. After that, Nitori followed with a mouthful of it and her tail wrapped around some as well. Once they reached the cave, she walked straight in, eyeing Kuriko on the way as he stopped himself from saying something probably more advanced than she liked. Her violet-gaze traced some lines etched into the rich soil beneath her paws, before lifting her head to feel a drop of water splash onto her face irritatingly. Shaking her head with a snort, both from the after droplet and the distaste of numbweed, she padded over to Energy and set the herbs down, waiting until she woke up but found herself in a drowsy state, so she laid down and fell asleep.

Kuriko sighed and lay down on the cave floor, yawning slightly. He entered before Rale Rock, only because the younger dragon insisted unpon entering last. Kuriko stayed near the entrance, his snout facing Outside.

Energy didn't stir, not even when Nitori came by and placed Numbweed in front of her.

Rale Rock did not feel sleepy. Not yet. He just hatched recently, anyway. Maybe someone should keep guard. "Guard...Guardian..." He sat by the cave entrance, watching as the sun slipped down the horison and night came.

@Heidioo I don't understand, what do you mean "...his snout facing outdated?">

Nitori

 

Ic;; Nitori awoke the next morning, blinking open her blurry violet-eyes as she stretched, gaping her maw in a long yawn. At first she didn't understand or realize where she was, but then she remembered and flicked her gaze around the small cave. Her eyes fixed on Energy, eyeing the wounds, trying to see if anything was unusual about them before turning her head towards the entrance, spying the sunlight streaming into the cave. She also spotted Rale Rock, which she just realized that the haunting heartbeat was beginning to beat again just as she awakened from her deep slumber. Turning her head, she eyed the brownish colored hatchling, Kuriko, and her eyes narrowed slightly until she heaved herself up and began to clean herself with her rough sandpaper-like forked tongue.

Energy's eyes fluttered open and yawned. That was fast. It was morning already? She stretched and accidentally let out a cry. She'd stretched herself way too hard. She looked up as Rale Rock went over. She rolled her eyes but not in a mean way.

 

"I'm fine, I just stretched too hard" she said, irritated. Then her eyes lit up.

 

"Hey, I'm speaking properly!" She was glad that her voice didn't sound so silly anymore.

Somewhere late in the night, Rale had flopped down and went to sleep. He was surprised at how sleeping could help pass the time so quickly. He woke up to the sound of someone crying out in pain and rushed over to Energy. He sighed but with a smile on his face when Energy waved him off. He walked over to Nitori.

 

"So how was your sleep?" Rale asked.

 

<OOC: Okay, sure. :3 Is this the second day?>

Kuriko hadn't slept much, thinking through the night. When the others awoke, he stood up, slipping out of the cave. He looked around for food, knowing a few good spots. He ate a few berries, marking that spot as safe, then found a nest of rodents, which he killed. He carried them meekly to the cave by their tails, not noticing that his scales were more red than before.

((Yes, we could pretend like a month or so has gone by and they could be growing wing buds [the beginning of wings] or already have small wings but not able to fly yet.))

 

 

Nitori

 

Ic;; Nitori flicked her gaze as Rale asked her how was her sleep. Gaping her jaws in a long yawn, her eyes glazed for she was still tired, "I-I'm okay, still ti-tired though." It took her a few moments to register what just happened, she actually spoke somewhat clear! She would rejoice a bit more but she was so tired still, she hated morning. Ugh, tired... hungry. Nitori's gaze rested on the entrance again as Kuriko padded back in with some rodents in his jaws. Narrowing her gaze for she still despised the male, even after he found them this cave and all. She switched her gaze away from him, she did grow a bit more respect for the male, for he tried his best to impress them. Turning her head, her eyelids half open, she murmured something before staggering out of the cave and to a small stream nearby so she could drink and swim as well as try to catch the slippery scaled critters that swam in the fresh and salted waters.

Kuriko laid down the rodents before the others, eating only one. He turned and left the cave, not wanting to watch should Rey reject his gift. He sighed, not really sure what to do, but following his instincts. He could leave, of course. Nitori would be happy, that was certain...

Energy was by the rodents in a flash. She gulped two down before looking at Kuriko.

 

"Nice catch. Where'd you find them?" She still couldn't believe that her voice had taken a month to get used to talking.

Rale silently took one of the rodents too.

 

"Thanks." Rale Rock had only occasionally spoken with the others. He didn't know why, he just didn't talk much. Unlike Energy, she could really keep a conversation going. He took a few steps outside and felt the morning sun shine onto his face.

Kuriko smiled. "A hole in the ground," He replied. "A little while over that way," he explained. He sat down, scratching his small wings. A few scale-feathers fell to the ground, revealing a slightly redder tint beneath.

Nitori

 

Ic;; When she reached the stream, Nitori walked into it and rolled around in it to clean her dirty now developed scales. Once she was finished she crawled out of the stream and shook herself to dry before padding over to a sunny patch and flopped down onto her back, closing her eyes to rest a bit more. Slowly she rolled back onto her side, curling her tail close to her belly as she got comfortable.

 

She awoken from a sudden chill that sent her spine a tingling, as if her senses was trying to warn her of something. Lifting her head, Nitori glanced around before spotting a huge gray mass of clouds rolling in from the distance. Her eyes widened, for she had a clue what this was, for she saw herds and packs, tribes etc, even the tall blue creatures hide from this deadly mass of torture. She sucked in a breath, her eyes widened as she whispered the treacherous words, "A Fa-fall is coming, and thread wi-will fall." In that instant, Nitori scrambled to her paws and raced towards the small little cave entrance.

Kuriko heard something and looked up to see the mass of rolling clouds. The sight of it made him shiver, and he ran as fast as he could back to the cave, seeing that Rale and Energy were safe, then running to where he thought he had seen Nitori go. "Nitori?!" He cried, worried.

((Lol not Fall the season. It's on the front page. I got this concept of this new precipitation from a series I am currently still reading.

 

There is a new precipitation that falls on Elpis, this strange thing is called Thread. Thread is known to fall from a large mass of light gray clouds, and devours all organic matter it touches. However, Elpis has survived Threadfalls or 'Falls' with a specialized grub that feeds on the threads when they touch the ground. This trait is found in all fish as well when it enters the water and these special grubs and usually all fish are commonly found during and after a Fall. Thread will disintegrate or turn into dust when the temperature is too cold such as 40 degrees or below, so thread commonly falls in late spring, summer and early fall. Thread comes from one of the other 'moons' that orbit around the same planet Elpis orbits. Thread remains dormant in inner-system space as a small, icy ovoid, but is reactivated by passage through the atmosphere. Heat and atmospheric friction burn off the outer shell, releasing "thread-like" strings which float down to the surface in sheets, tangles and clumps. The size of a single strand is initially comparable to a long, silver strand of yarn. However, while feeding, Thread grows visibly, being described as a "heavy hawser" rope or "wriggling sausages" about 10 cm by 3 meters in size. Structurally, Thread is composed of many thin, tightly wound filaments within a very fine outer shell or film. Complex proteins allow Thread to consume any carbon-based substance through direct physical contact as well as providing wriggling mobility. Contact with Thread results in "Threadscore," similar to a chemical burn.

Ic;; Nitori managed to hear the cry of her name just as she realized that Kuriko was out as well. As she whipped around, almost gracefully for she was still a bit clumsy on her paws, but not as much since she has begun maturing, and bounded back to the stream. Another tingling sensation swept down her back as she spotted the gray mass of the thread clouds beginning to drop the silvery death from their grip. A squeak escaped her maw as she stumbled into the clearing from a nearby bush. Spotting Kuriko, Nitori lashed her tail wildly and hissed, "Come on!" She lunged forward and shoved him in the direction of the cave. ""Where's Energy Twinkle and Rale Rock?! Are they inside?"

"They are safe," Kuriko responded, running behind her. He looked up at the sky with worry, and redoubled his efforts to speed up and help her speed up. The cliff loomed ahead of them, the cave at the base. "Almost there!" Kuriko cried, straining to close the last bit of distance between himself and the cave, almost pushing Nitori to make her move faster. Despite how she had treated him at first, he saw her as a friend, and he cared for all three of his friends.

Nitori

 

Ic;; Flicking her ears, Nitori glanced back as Kuriko responded, then nodded before hissing at his pushing, "I can only go so fa-fast!" Snorting, the Heartbeat hatchling spotted the cave and soon the entrance was only a few feet in front of them. Suddenly, a long strand of the silvery thread landed in front of them, writhing with the mobility like that of a snake. Skidding to a stop, Nitori squeaked and reared up to help herself stop, fanning out the small developing pair of wings. After a couple seconds the ground beneath the thread moved and some strange looking grubs appeared, devouring the thread. Once that was gone, Nitori glanced upwards, spotting another clump of it falling towards them, and instantly she leaped forward, diving into the cave entrance.

Energy had been checking out the hole where Kuriko had found the rodents when she noticed the fall coming. With a squeal, she leapt back to the cave entrance and got safely inside.

Rale Rock had been watching from the entrance. He moved a little to the side to let the others pass as they ran from the fall. He silently willed Kuriko to be faster and to not fall prey to the threads.
