Freedom Hills: A Mustang RP

Twilight looked at the sky as she clomped between the territories of the three herds she had seen in this area. The sky, it was getting dark and it was starting to get windy. She gave off a low whinny of fright and hung her head low. She had no place for protection to go. She looked around and saw the plateau nearby. She knew beyond that was a forest but it was so close to the nearby human settlement. She whickered softly and remembered that lightning liked to hit tall trees such as those that were in the forest. She gave a whinny of frustration and pounded the ground with her hooves. She was normally calm but this frustrated her. Oh well, she guessed she would have to sit out in the open like she normally did during a storm.

Meanwhile, Sunny was being ready to get ridden to ride out during the storm. She was calm but her head hung low as she knew what was going to happen. They were going to go out and find the herds that walked the plateau, hills, and plains and capture one of them. She stomped a hoof in irritation only to whinny in surprise as she received a hard slap on her rump by a riding crop. She jumped and shook for a little bit but stayed calm. She hung her head very low to the ground as she waited for her to be ready and mounted for the upcoming ride and raid.

Fortune was gracious that Zuri was trying to calm her and Winter, but it wasn't working. Storms were always the worst possible thing in the world to her, except losing her herd. I hate lightning! What if it makes all the trees in the woods catch on fire?Fortune heard Tonto and Zuri talking to each other about some cave. She wondered if the cave would make the entire herd save. "Um....What herd?" Fortune asked Zuri and Tonto. I don't want to get hurt or lost. I hope this cave will prevent it. I also wounldn't mind not getting wet.

Rain! Winter thought excitedly, taking a running start and leaping into a rather large puddle. Water splashed two feet into the air, spattering the grass and Winter's dust-grey coat. He trotted out and started galloping again, making circles around trees and jumping over rocks. I can't remember the last time I actually had fun... he thought, jumping over a puddle and landing safely on the other side. Winter didn't even flinch when the lightning struck off in the distance. "Ooooh, pretty," he whispered.

Winter, suddenly realizing that he was very cold, retreated to the shelter of a large tree. "It's dry under here," he said quietly, not actually meaning to. He didn't want company. He knew that the herd's members wouldn't hurt him, but he didn't particularly trust them. Yet.

Twilight whinnied in fright when she saw the lightning flash in the distance. She reared and pawed at the air before coming down with a large thud. She snorted and shook her head, looking around. She hoped that no one had seen her flinch at the lightning. She trotted around, towards the hills, hoping that no one would be around the lake near the hills. She didn't want to get caught by a herd and snaked into it.

((I'm finally baccckkk!!! xP Now where was I?.. Oh right!))

Heading for the watering hole, Sage stumbled every now and then, only to find Foxlilly helping her upright again. Raven trudged at the back of the small herd, and Sage supposed he was trying not to get on her nerves. As the watering hole came into view, Sage slowed her pace by a lot. Foxlilly nudged her and asked, "What's wrong?" Sage shook her head and kept moving. They finally reached the water, and Sage nervously looked around for Willow's herd. ((Is Willow's herd there?)) Looking up, Sage saw the dark sky. Not again... she thought as she inwardly groaned at the thought of another possible fire.

((Hello? Anyone? sad.gif I'm lonely... sad.gif))

((I have been given permisson by Fire-Ice to basically own this RP while they cannot be here. That means I may accept/decline characters, new herds, basically be able to controll her two main horses; Tonto and Willow, and most anything else. This is to get the RP going once again. I will not neglect or take advantage of this privelage. Drakelina, you mise well move on without Fire-Ice for she will probably not be able to find the time to post a reply unless you would like me to reply using her horse.))

Silver trotted out towards the forest, leaving the street- and the memories of the humans -far behind her. She was a wild horse now, and would be so for the rest of her life.

Exited by the thought, she started running, feeling the wind whip through her mane. There was nothing in the world she loved so much as this, and she loved it all the more when she could run where she liked, without a human screaming at her and hitting her. Slowing as she entered the treeeline, the pale appaloosa shook her head an whickered loudly. Free! She was finally free!

((I'ma back!! happy.gif I'm just going to start with my original characters and what they were last seen doing. Less confusing for me))

Sage reached the watering hole and Foxlilly watched as she drank the clear water. When she was done, Foxlilly drank next. Raven began loweing his head to drink as well and then Foxlilly flicked her wet nose at him, spattering his forhead purposfully with cold droplets of sparkling water. She nickered and trotted around him, clearly pleased that she had got him. He let out a loud whinney of laughter, then flicked his gleaming wet nose back at her. A stray droplet hit Sage right above her eye and the two stopped imediatly, turning to look at her. They were clearly trying to keep from bursting out with laughter when Sage dove right into the small pond and began flicking her head wildly, drenching Raven and Foxlilly. The old black stallion had never had so much fun sence he had run away with his young neice, Foxlilly. Everything for him had been to care for her, even if that meant being the worst playmate ever. Foxlilly bounded in after Sage, and Raven followed. They swam around and around in the cool water, and Sage was clearly pleased that Raven had lightened up. The cold water felt nice on their sun-warmed skin, and Foxlilly didn't ever want to get out.

((Natcar9 quit DCF by the way. :l))

Winter snorted and shook out his wet fur. When will the rain let up? I mean, it's fun and all but I'm cold. Lightning flashed eerily in the distance, crashing with a loud boom! that echoed across the meadow. He sighed and watched the leaves swirling about in the winds.

((Are you kidding me!? sad.gif Do you know why?

Oh yea, I'm gonna PM Fire-Ice about remaking this, just to make it so much easier on all of us...))

Sage, Foxlilly, and Raven all slowly swam back out of the water and began trotting around. Where is everyone? Sage thought to herself.

((Sort of reflecting what I'm thinking right now... Not sure what else to post. Sorry sad.gif))

((She's my best friend in real life, so yeah I know why. She said she just plain lost interest. ): ))

Winter shivered, the cold wind getting to him through his soaked, freezing fur. He thought he heard another crash of lightning, but didn't even care anymore. He just stared through the storm across the bleak plateaus that dotted the land.

((Nothing to post, really.))

((Well I might as well type up something. I'm going to have Zuri with Winter like they were last time. They are both in Tonto's herd but I guess I'll have Zuri take the lead until Tonto appears in the story again. I'll also type up something for Arron, maybe have him meet up with Sage, Foxlilly, and Raven?))

Zuri rubbed her neck on Winter's sides to keep him warm. "Don't worry little one, we are almost to shelter. The cave is not too far off if we are heading in the right direction." It was hard for her to see if she was going the right way because of the heavy rain, but luckily a couple of landmarks helped guide her. She soon saw the dark figure of a cave. "Almost there everyone!" She said to the other herd members.

Meanwhile Arron himself was trying to find shelter in the harsh storm. Thunder cracked and lightning streaked the sky but he kept pushing through the storm. "Must...find...shelter..." The rain started to to make his eyes irritated. Just then he thought he saw three horses. "Are those...horses?" Although he didn't like talking to other horses, he thought they might know where shelter is. "Hey you there!" Thunder cracked once again, so he wasn't sure the "others" heard him.

((not sure what to post but...))

Angel galloped through the forest, looking around for any shelter to hide herself from the terrifying storm above her. Normally, it didn't brother her since she lived in confinement but now... Well now she was a wild horse and had no one to protect her from the elements. Suddenly, she heard the mummuring of some horses. Lookin through some brush, she saw a group of horses.

Silver shook her head and whinnied at the feel of rain on her flanks as it dripped through the leaves. Even that felt good, now that she was free. Free! It sounded so beautiful, so joyful, so true! Happily, she bounded forward along the deer trail she'd been following, so exited to not have a human on her back.

Her happines doubled as she scented several horses up ahead. "Hello," she called as she stuck her head through the brush.

Foxlilly's ears swivled to the back as she heard a sound. Turning her head, she saw another horse poking her head through some foliage. She nodded 'hello' back, and watched Sage for a moment. Seeing that she was talking to Raven and paying her no attention, she slowly trotted over to the strange horse. She looked her up and down, trying to figure out where she had come from. Previously Foxlilly had thought that her, Sage, Raven, Tonto, and Willow were the only horses in the wild, but this odd little horse proved her theory wrong.

"H-Hi," she stammered, not knowing how to really greet a strange horse; Raven usually did it for her. "I'm... um... I'm Foxlilly. Who are you?"

Silver grinned. "My name's Silver. It's nice to meet you, Foxlilly. Are you guys runaways too?" She stepped through the tangle of branches to stand beside the young mare. "I just got away from my humans this morning. How long have you been free?"

Aaron could see the horses didn't hear him call. "Must be the storm." He avoided stepping any closer to the strange horses and instead observed them at a close distance. Aaron debated whether to ask if these horses knew where shelter was, or to just continue on. He really wanted to avoid other horses at all costs, but if he walked any further in this storm he might get lost. He could already feel a chill from the cold rain.

He hesitantly walked into view of the horses. He didn't make eye contact and held his head down to show he meant no harm.
