Posted November 1, 2021 I got into learning stenography (Gregg anniversary) 1.5 years ago, and was wondering if there were any fellow learners (or fluent writers) here. How did you get into it? What system(s) do you write? Would love to see some pics of your steno too, if you're comfortable sharing them. Share this post Link to post
Posted April 17, 2022 I learned Pitmans New Era shorthand as part of my secretarial training back in the early 1970s. Still use it a little to this day. It's such a useful skill to have and I even considered exploring the idea of teaching it after I left work some years ago. My secretarial training was intended to be a useful gap filler whilst I decided what I really wanted to do, but I ended up sticking with it. I loved learning shorthand - felt a bit like code cracking - lol. Good luck with your learning. Share this post Link to post
Posted December 3, 2022 Oh wow, I've never looked in to Pitman, mostly because I'm not a fan of having to control line thickness. Do you know if any written shorthand is still regularly used/taught for professional use? Share this post Link to post
