Posted March 5, 2020 (edited) DIF different Most people do die from it. They bleed to death because their platelets are depleted. That's a simple explanation. Here's a brief explanation that I found online (for non-medical folks): In disseminated intravascular coagulation, abnormal clumps of thickened blood (clots) form inside blood vessels. These abnormal clots use up the blood's clotting factors, which can lead to massive bleeding in other places. Causes include inflammation, infection, and cancer.
