Posted November 23, 2015 (edited) The theme for this contest will be: extreme weather! A heat wave, drought, thunderstorm, heavy snow fall, whatever is the worst weather you've experienced (and have a photo of, of course). The rules: - One entry per person - Picture has to be made by yourself and can't be just a reproduction of someone's work. If someone else's work is in the picture, there needs to be something extra. - No manipulation besides basic photo adjustments (contrast, exposure, cropping, color balance, lighting, etc.) - No text or framing in the photo. A signature/watermark is just fine, but it's preferable if you don't have "O Hai Eye Hav3 T3XT" (or something similar) present in the photo. - When voting, please don't select your own image. This will ensure fairness. - You are free to submit an old photo; you don't need to take a new one just for this competition. - Winner hosts the next contest. Posted November 23, 2015 (edited) Sure, I'll play along. This part of the house ALWAYS gets ice locked, when we have a big snow, followed by warm (anything over 34f) weather the next day. This particular time: we had had -35f windchills for the night before, with highs around 40f during the day. http://oi67.tinypic.com/2ut15pj.jpg -Giant pic was scaled and still giant, sorry. Posted November 23, 2015 Most extreme weather I've experienced was the wind storm last year. Wind speeds up to 85 mph hit with no warning. No deaths thankfully, but it left a huge mess. This was just one of the many photos I took around my house in the aftermath. The Power of Wind Share this post Link to post
Posted November 23, 2015 (edited) My post-Hurricane-Floyd photos aren't electronic, so have a water spout instead! (]Or maybe some Thanksgiving snow in Chicago?) Edited November 28, 2015 by Lagie Share this post Link to post
Posted November 27, 2015 (edited) @Lagie I find the water spout more impressive! Two days remaining for submissions! Edited November 27, 2015 by Mirhana Share this post Link to post

Posted November 29, 2015 It was extremely overcast in Alaska two summers ago. (Does that count as extreme weather?) It links to a larger image. However, it's a very grainy large image. I'm not quite sure why it has such a high pixel count if it's not using them efficiently. Share this post Link to post
