Posted March 25, 2014 I think Quiche is an English word too. I searched on google and it just popped out, so I'm assuming it's an English word. Strawberries. Yum. Share this post Link to post
Posted March 25, 2014 Teacakes English is made up of words we have stolen (read that appropriated) from other languages. We do it frequently with foods for which there are no current English words. Quiche is one such word because cheesey custard pie with additives just doesn't cut it. Navets are turnips huh. No clue as to which you'd use. If the recipe or food item was turnips with cheese or something and they had a name like cherries jubilee but was navet avec fromage then sure you could definitely use the french. Color me talkative. oops sorry. Share this post Link to post
