I don’t really have many notes for them…shoulda done that -they are blind but still have depressions in the skull where the eyes would have been -they were originally a vday submission from like 2018 -they were shaded in color; I didn’t use a greyscale base for them, I felt it gave the markings a more cohesive appearance as they blend better. The non-pink section of the wing is a color overlay I did -I imagine they use their tails to smack things and stun them, so the feathers end up tattered over time

Siorghlas is Irish Gaelic for ‘evergreen’ :3 blue one is based on Colorado blue spruce while green is inspired by lodgepole pine :3

@MoonShark is the concept artist for the drakes :3 they are based on yellowjackets; the white one is based on the bald-faced hornet. this is the original version of the drakes! there were several years between this version and the much better version that was released ~

no ears! there are horns at the back of the jaw, though, which don't lay flat against the neck but rather are at an angle so not to impede the turning of the head.

the pygmy hatchies are chonkers they're big because i don't like super tiny pygmy sprites. i have no plans to adjust them. enjoy the chonkers

@Arionid please don't call sprites ugly. it's one thing to not like something and you are free to express that you don't like it, but there's "i don't like this" opinions and constructive criticism and then there's just being mean, and calling a sprite just outright ugly crosses the line into "mean" territory. however much anyone dislikes any given sprite(s), there is at least one person with feelings who made it, and it is worth considering that when posting things that are publicly visible. --- i am glad the snow update was finally put in, yay. no more bulbous weird shoulder ;w;

i've always taken the coast biome to mean oceanic coastline (much like how the desert biome specifically describes it as a hot desert). not all aquatic dragons belong in the coast; water exists in many, many places inland. ^^

Here's the concept art for the pink alcedine: https://sta.sh/0cjxgdcg6rg they were originally going to be m/f dimorphic set but the blue ended up appearing so much visually larger that I ended up deciding they'd be alts, so there's no separate concept art for the blue one (just a color mockup on the same base as the pink alcedine's concept art). blues were originally going to have longer, branching antlers but this ended up too complex with the mane texture right there as well owo
