  1. The scroll name "Imago" is already taken by a user from 2008 with only five dragons on their scroll Apart from that, great update! :'D
  2. Finally managed to trade for a Staterae and bought a second one from the market. :3 I have enough shards for another one, but since I already have a pair, I'll save them for now and see how their rarity evolves.
  3. "It looks like it would be a good swimmer, but it doesn’t like being placed in water." I just imagined a human lifting the hatchie and putting it into a tub of water, staring at it expectantly, and the hatchie staring back with a frown and giving a thumbs down or something like that.
  4. So I got 66 new Valentine dragons this year, among those 41 Rosebuds, 14 Sakuhanas, 4 Floral-Crowneds, 2 Valentine 09s, 2 Radiant Angels, 2 Eradors and 1 Sweetling. That makes 322 Valentines overall of which 174 are Rosebuds. My priorities are obvious. Thanks for the awesome event and all the pretty Rosebuds!
  5. Thank you, it worked now!
  6. Same here. It also sends me the exact same link again every time I type !register.
  7. Good to know, at least I have a 50% chance it will gender correctly. Thanks for dropping it!
  8. Of course now the AP is flooded with my own lineages and I am unable to pick ANY of them up because I abandoned them myself and you cannot pick an egg you abandoned up until someone else has abandoned it afterwards. >__> Could someone please pick up a few of those Lurkers and reabandon them? Edit: Managed to snag one of my Lurker x Florets. Of course now I think that someone dropped it because it was precog'd to be the wrong gender. Aaaah!
  9. Oh. My. God. This is so cool. The trading hub. The market. New eggs. Everything. So cool. *__* Though it will take me forever to NOT always click on the "Trading" button when I want to go to my dragons. Years of training to mindlessly click on that exact spot in the navbar... D : (When did the forum start to replace ASCII emoticons with images? Not nice.) Also, why is a Chicken more expensive than a CB Gold on the market?! I really like the new Reds, the old ones were really outdated. I am not so fond of the new Seasonals yet, the Autumn's wings look so pale now and the new shading makes all of them look kind of... metallic? Especially the Springs.
  10. First time since 2012 that I didn't get all of the eggs. ;__; Oh well. I shouldn't fly away on vacation over Easter, I guess. At least the hotel's wifi was good enough for me to catch some eggs in the evenings, so my basket isn't completely empty!
  11. Finally finished my Valentine's Day - got all the flowers, sent a bunch and sorted my new Valentine dragons. Overall, I caught/traded for this year: Valentine '09: 7 Sweetling: 4 Rosebud: 34 Heartseeker: 2 Arsani: 1 Soulstone: 4 Floral-Crowned: 2 I-I am not hoarding Rosebuds, no... :'D (Still a bit shocked about these numbers myself ) Edit: I now have 96 adult Rosebuds. Whoops.
  12. Thank you for changing your mind, @TJ09!
  13. Alright, sorry, I obviously didn't get the context. ^^" I'm also fine with sprite updates, but not with randomly changing game mechanics that weren't broken. Even if they weren't supposed to breed true initially, they have been doing so for years and it was never communicated that this wasn't intended and might be "fixed" in the future. Otherwise people wouldn't have invested so much in these lineages.
  14. This is not about replacing or updating art. The existing Alt Sweetlings are still there and the Pink Sweetlings have the exact same sprite except for their coloring. If they had just been updated, we wouldn't be so upset. It's about them not breeding true anymore. This doesn't improve the site in any way, it's just unfair to the Alt owners.
  15. Happy for the event and all, but really? Why retire Alt Sweetlings? I don't have any, but their owners have been building so many beautiful lineages with them over the years and are usually quite generous when it comes to breeding (I would never have been able to breed this line otherwise). And now this is being taken away from them? I really don't get the point, this just seems totally random to me. :/ Not nice.
  16. Well, on holidays, lineages usually do trade well (2nd gens and checkers from pretty pairing and/or nicely named parents, that is), and that's what I like about it. You can post your 2nd gen something and get multiple offers on it. You can browse the trading threads and see many different beautiful lineages offered, pairings that you didn't think about yourself. I have been trading so many lineaged holiday dragons back and forth during past holidays, not only specific ones, but also ones that I caught and thought someone might like, ones that I got offered and liked, even though I didn't look for them, ones I saw in the thread and spontaneously fell in love with. You don't have that outside of holidays, because the market is just so small and nobody just goes out to set a nice checker up for trade, because chances are just too low that someone will offer on it. That's what I love about the DC holidays and I don't want to lose it. It also helps that you cannot breed everything for yourself, just because you don't have enough (or any) caveborns to do it. (But of course that comes from someone who does have at least one CB of everything anyway. ^^") "All their egg slots" meaning "all their egg slots over the course of the breeding period".
  17. I'm sceptical. I think (many/most) people originally started collecting pretty holiday lineages because they couldn't collect CBs, so they had to resort to the next pretty thing. Of course, there are and will always be people who still collect and trade lineages despite the availability of caveborns, but looking at non-holiday breeds, the number is rather low and the overwhelming majority of activity in the trading forums concerns caveborns or low-gen eggs from breeds which are not or hardly obtainable as CBs (i.e. Prizes and Metallics). I fear that this will also be the case for Halloweens from now on, and at least on this year's Halloween, there were MUCH fewer people trading for lineages. Of course, this may have been because it was the first year of rereleases (I also collected some CBs of course), and I would very much like to be proven wrong. Anyway, I like that people cannot just fill all their slots with CBs, but that the lineages will also necessarily get some attention (because who would want empty egg slots on their scroll?). Also Hollies. Without limits, this would be pure madness, and I have been afraid of it ever since Halloween. X)
  18. Thank you SO MUCH for keeping the CB limits in place. This will hopefully make people trade more lineaged holidays than on Halloween (and will also allow me to collect lineages instead of hunting for CBs only to meet my CB goals). Collecting nice holiday checkers is my favorite part of Dragon Cave by now and I was really bummed by the Halloween rerelease, because, as I feared, the market for lineaged Halloweens was significantly smaller than in previous years and trading was not so much fun anymore. ...though the Holly hunting will be... mad.
  19. I love the updates! The only thing I'm really annoyed at is that the links to Alternate/Grid sort and Table sort were swapped. My fingers have been trained for years to click on the middle link for sorting, so now I always misclick on Table sort first. Damn reflexes!
  20. First off: The new design is very pretty and modern while still being very faithful to the old layout we are used to. Thank you for this smooth transition, TJ! The forum was loading extremely slowly for me too earlier, but this has resolved itself now, at least for me. I just have one main concern: I find it really frustrating to deal with WYSIWYG editors and prefer to always work on the raw BB code when it comes to forums, so it would really, really appreciate if there was some way to switch between these two editing modes. I know that we are not supposed to request changes yet, so I'm mainly wondering whether this is one of the missing functionalities that are still to be activated or whether I will have to get used to this. :)
  21. Did anyone else notice that each of the six Zyumorphs is a different dragon type? Pink/Coast: Wyvern Blue/Desert: Eastern White/Forest: Amphipthere Yellow/Jungle: Lindwurm Black/Alpine: Traditional Drake/Wingless Red/Volcano: Western Very interesting for six varieties of the same breed...
  22. Me: Okay, I've had my breakfast, now let's have a look at what is going on at Dragon Cave's birthday. I'll only quickly grab the new dragons if there are any, and then do my university work and come back for the rest in the evening. *opens news topic* Groups. GROUPS! OH MY GOD I CAN SORT MY FREAKING DRAGONS TO DEATH OMG OMG OMG THIS IS THE BEST BIRTHDAY EVER I LOVE YOU TJ ALSO EIGHTH EGG SLOT OMG OMG I swear I'm going to sort my dragons all day. Good bye university project. New dragons are suddenly so uninteresting.
  23. Instead of sing to dragon at the end, you can also cast spell of resilience on streamers, which is what I did because just sing didn't work.
  24. A big thank you to everyone involved for the wonderful game! It was lots of fun, the graphics were beautiful and the music was SO AWESOME. Especially the one in the southern part of the tropical island (forgot its name already), both in the jungle and on the plains. I have a soft spot for this kind of retro video game music. <3 I'm also glad that we will be able to view our houses from the badge! I took a screenshot of mine yesterday just to make sure, but it will be much more comfortable to share like this.
  25. The male Aria may be the most beautiful sprite of the whole release. And that comes from someone who hates everything pink with a passion.
