It doesn't look promising. Fancier looking doesn't equal better. Part of G4's appeal was they were toons. G5 is giving me the impression it has been dumbed down to sell more toys. Hasbro, in its genius (/s), made the toys look very different from the show's characters and it looks like they're gonna do it again.
