I just joined this site and I pretty much have no idea how things work around here nor what I'm supposed to be doing, but this is related to dragons so I'm down for it. I don't currently understand how my profile functions either, but I can only assume it's due to me being new?

Hello and welcome! I would recommend getting a mentor to help you understand how to play the game and use the forum. I'll put in a request for you in our thread The Mentoring Project. As mentors, we're here to teach you how to raise your dragons and answer any questions you may have. 

 

You are correct, you could not edit your profile because your account had not been approved. Now that I've approved you, you have full forum access, including profile editing capabilities.
