I'm also wondering if it's something to do with bots/AI scrapers, which are increasingly becoming a problem for all sorts of sites. I know Flight Rising, for example, is continually having trouble with those. There was one point (yesterday, I think) where the site was showing over 8 thousand users online (and holiday traffic tends to be, at least when I've checked the counter, less than a quarter of that). I know the online counter generally isn't an accurate reflection of how many people are online at that given moment, but 8K still seems high.

Most of the dragons in the stories are from my scroll, yes, and most of the locations. Incomplete History (the novella) in particular will have a few familiar names, since it's the story of Dragonhaven Island. I have my account linked in my signature, but here it is as well (Mathcat2 because someone beat me to Mathcat).

I'm part of the way through posting Quite A Lot of Dragon Cave fanfiction to Archive of Our Own (88K worth by the end of December - I'll have nearly doubled my AO3 wordcount by the time I'm done). I started off with some unrelated short stories, but today I started posting a series I've been working on for a couple of years (and some parts since 2016/17) and on December 8 I start posting a novella I've been working on since 2015. I was curious, so I decided to see how much, on average, I've written per year. Looking at what I have posted/will post to AO3, it works out to an average of about 6K a year - not too bad (probably a little higher if you throw in some of the really ancient stuff that never made it to AO3). If you throw in the descriptions, it's... rather higher (more like 27K/year). Thousands of short descriptions really add up, I guess. (I have most of my stories set to members-only on Archive of our Own to make it a little harder for them to be fed to AI, but if you have an AO3 account and have enjoyed my descriptions, you might like the stories as well.)

Okay, but we're still in the third day of the event (11 days and 2 hours left as of this post) and I just earned my fourth batch of 300 candy, so I'm still wondering if there's something going on. On Day 1 of the event, I earned my 300 candy just after it started and then had the counter reset about an hour after the event started, which does seem like a bug. I'm used to things resetting at midnight EST (EDT right now), but it looks like they're resetting one hour later than that instead/as well? Possibly DST weirdness, though it doesn't end for us for a few more days.
